As Chief Executive, you will lead the staff team, be responsible for providing overall strategic direction, coordination and management of all CAP programmes. Partnership building is a key role to maximise our impact.
Church Action on Poverty is a medium sized social justice charity, with a vision for the UK to become a country where everyone can flourish free from poverty. We are an ecumenical organisation with a Christian ethos and roots in the churches who remain key partners for us. We support programmes across the UK improving the lives of people in poverty and create opportunities for those with lived experience to voice their concerns with the aim of educating the public to raise awareness and understanding in line with our charitable objectives.
Currently, our programmes are structured on the principles of dignity, agency and power. They comprise: supporting a network of 130 food pantries with a membership of over 50,000; enabling people with lived experience of poverty to speak truth to power and supporting churches to explore what it means to be a ‘church on the margins’ as well as playing a leading role in high profile national campaigns.
It is anticipated that the role will be varied and flexible, but will include:

Assisting the CAP Council of Management in the development and implementation of the organisation's programmes, campaigns, partnership building and public affairs work.

Managing CAP's staff and resources in line with the organisation's agreed policies and priorities, and core values of collaboration, participation and empowerment.

Fundraising and organisational strategy to achieve our aims.

Ensuring that people with lived experience of poverty are actively involved in all aspects of CAP's work.

Leading and line managing the Senior Leadership and Management Team.

Working with the whole staff team to develop and implement strategies that build dignity, agency and power to end poverty.
Key responsibilities
1. Supporting CAP's Council of Management in its governance function

Maintaining regular contact with the CAP Chairperson and Officer Group.

Providing regular written reports to CAP's Council of Management and attending all meetings of the CAP Council of Management and Officers Group.

Agreeing and implementing an annual planning cycle with the Council of Management, in line with CAP’s strategic values and vision.

2. Ensuring the effective management of CAP's staff team by:

5. Partnership Building
Building partnerships and contribute to the shared leadership and development of a movement based on dignity, agency and power with people and struggling communities against poverty, by

Working with a wide range of partners and people with lived experience, to connect and build networks of people and groups who are committed to challenging poverty.

Ensuring that CAP works collaboratively, leading CAP's involvement in strategic coalitions, alliances and other movement building opportunities.

Ensuring CAP’s work is informed by the insights of people with lived experience of poverty, as well as wider public policy, debate and research.

Ensuring that CAP’s views are shared with government, politicians, churches and others, where possible, led by people with lived experience of poverty.
6. Membership and supporters
Working with CAP’s Communications and Supporter Relations manager to ensure the recruitment and retention of members, donors and supporters by ensuring that:

CAP members are provided with regular mailings and appropriate support for local/national activity.

Ensuring that requests from CAP members and others for information and support are dealt with appropriately.

Overseeing resources for Challenge Poverty Week and Poverty Sunday
7. Public Profile
In collaboration with CAP's Council of Management and staff, ensuring that CAP maintains a high profile within both the church and secular media, including:

Ensuring CAP contributes effectively to public and media debate, including mainstream secular and church media, TV, radio and new/social media etc.

Prioritising opportunities for people with lived experience to act as spokespeople and the public face for CAP.

Attending and speaking at appropriate conferences and events making sure that CAP is represented at key events.

Representing CAP views to national, regional and local government.
8. Theological Development
Facilitating the development of theological and other resources which reflect

the lived experience of people and communities struggling against poverty, biblical sources, personal faith and other theological writing.

Accountability and relationships
The Chief Executive is accountable to the elected Council of Management. Regular contact is maintained with the Officers Group, and in particular the Chair.
The Chief Executive provides line management to the other members of the Senior Leadership and Management Team, and works closely with other members of the CAP staff team, and external partners.
Other details about employment
Duration: Permanent contract with six month probationary period.
Hours: 35 hours per week including occasional 'unsocial' hours, weekend working and overnight travelling for which Time Off in Lieu is provided.
Salary: Church Action on Poverty Salary Band L, starting at scale point 43 on the NJC scales (currently £52,805 pay award pending). Rising by increments after 3 years and every 2 years thereafter to point 46 (currently £56,073), paid monthly on the 14th day of each month.
Pension: Church Action on Poverty operates the Nest auto-enrolment pension scheme, and contributes a 10% employer contribution provided the staff member commits to making a 5% employee contribution.

Living Paintings is the national charity on a mission to ensure every blind child in the UK has equal access to the visual world of pictures, books and learning. From adapting bestselling picture books into accessible, tactile-audio formats for blind children to developing resources designed to inspire, educate and entertain – our free postal library gives thousands of blind children and young people the world at their fingertips.
We are looking for a strategic, organised and creative Communications and Marketing Lead to join us at an exciting time for the charity. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
In this role you will lead on maintaining, developing, and delivering all aspects of our charity’s communications strategy and its associated activities, working closely with the Communications Assistant as well as the CEO, Fundraising Lead, Library Manager and Publishing Manager. Primarily an outward facing role, the postholder will ensure that the charity has the broadest possible positive exposure to stakeholders – both current and future – and continue to build Living Paintings into a credible, recognisable and positive brand.

Salary: £45,000 - £48,500 FTE
Place of work: Hybrid between home and office in Kingsclere, Newbury (at least 2 days per week in the office preferred).

Duties and Key Responsibilities

- Lead on all aspects of brand development, management and communications to create a consistent, coherent, credible and recognisable brand.
- Develop, implement and manage processes to ensure campaigns from all departments are integrated, run effectively, efficiently and are impactful.

- Lead on the charity’s social media presence and brand, growing following, engagement and conversions.
- Manage, develop and optimise the charity’s website, email communications and digital offering – championing innovation, implementing effective, conversion-focussed user-journeys.

About Aspens
Aspens is a charity that provides high-quality person-centred care and support to individuals on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities, and their families. We provide an integrated network of services and support across the South-East to empower individuals to lead their lives as independently as possible.
We support children, families and adults across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Surrey and the London Borough of Bexley. Our services include registered care homes, supported living, community outreach, day services, children and young people’s groups and support, specialist support, and online support for families and carers across the South-East.
Aspens has three charity shops in Bexhill, Crowborough and Paddock Wood and online stores on eBay, Etsy and Vinted. We also have The Bluebell Café and animal farm and a pre-loved donations centre in Pembury.
Purpose of Role
This role will work with direction from the Marketing and Communications Manager to deliver marketing campaigns to raise awareness of and promote Aspens’ services, income-generation activities including fundraising, retail and hospitality, and recruitment; engage with our internal and external stakeholders; and reach new audiences. A key part of the role will be internal ‘customer’ support, collaborating with departments across the charity to meet shared goals in line with Aspens’ strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign delivery
· Collaborate with the operations, fundraising, retail and recruitment teams to create and deliver comprehensive marketing campaigns to promote Aspens’ services, shops/e-commerce, hospitality, events and recruitment and meet shared goals in line with the charity’s strategic objectives.
· Create and deliver internal comms campaigns to drive engagement and increase retention of staff.
· Monitor and evaluate campaign performance by reporting on agreed objectives and KPIs.
Content Creation
· Develop relevant and engaging content to be utilised across channels, including, but not limited to website, social media, internal channels and email, in our shops, Bluebell Café and the community to reach new and existing stakeholders.
· Graphic design - production of assets for marketing purposes.

· Carry out research to monitor and keep up to date with marketing and charity trends and best practice to support audience engagement.

Events
• Collaborate with the Business and Income Generation Team to support the planning and promotion of events and represent Aspens at events, some of which may require evening or weekend attendance.

About the role
We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.
This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.
You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a legendary experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.
The West Midlands and North Wales regions are areas filled with some of our most committed supporters, but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from Birmingham hospitals and out in the community in North Wales, so building relationships with these teams are a must.

Re-engage has just launched a new five-year strategy which will have growth at its heart. We’re looking for an exceptional person to join our team as Supporter Care Officer and be a vital part of this exciting phase of our development.
This is a new role within a growing fundraising team which is aiming to significantly grow income to achieve our growth strategy. Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, your main responsibility will be to develop relationships with individual and community donors, and legacy pledgers. Your personalised approach and friendly manner will help them feel valued, understand the life changing difference they make and deepen their connection to our work reducing loneliness in later life. As part of your role, you will also have opportunity to support the Individual Giving Manager with fundraising activities.
Key responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for supporters and build good relationships with them - respond to queries, take donations, and support them in their fundraising.
- Develop a programme to regularly thank donors for their support and find out more about them, including a schedule of supporter phone calls and sending a donor survey.
- Make sure all individual, community and legacy gifts are recorded correctly on our CRM and thanked within a timely manner. Look for new ways to thank donors in a way that surprises and delights.
- Develop and implement personalised stewardship plans for donors and legacy pledgers to provide regular updates that demonstrate their impact or help to build engagement ahead of a fundraising appeal.
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager to communicate with one-off donors about how they can set up a regular gift, and to regular givers about how they can increase their gift.
- Provide support on the production of fundraising appeals, identifying potential stories to use, writing briefs and liaising with suppliers, producing mailing lists and analysing results.
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement marketing plans for challenge events, community, in memory and legacy fundraising, planning regular content throughout the year and identifying key times to promote specific activity.
- Look for opportunities to incorporate legacy messaging into other communications with donors, volunteers and older people.
- Support on the development of new KPI and reporting frameworks, and help to update results for post-campaign and ad-hoc data analysis projects.
- Keep up to date with developments in direct marketing and fundraising practise. Comply with the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice and charity/fundraising law at all times.

- Advocacy services direct to children and young people in care, in need, in custody and to care leavers and children and young people with severe and complex mental health problems. Advocates around the country support children and young people to get their voice heard in decisions about their lives. This may be through the telephone helpline or through an advocate working directly with a child, for instance, to support them at a review meeting or to help them make a complaint about their care. Coram Voice provides visiting advocacy services to most of the secure units nationally, to Secure Training Centres, Juvenile Young Offender Institutions, psychiatric hospitals, residential special schools and children’s homes.
- A National Helpline to provide access for children and young people to advocacy and advice, with access to legal advice and links with other national services.
- Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) to advocate for young people as qualifying patients under the Mental Health Act, in order to fully support them to get their views heard in matters relating to their mental health.
- Independent Visitor services offers a child or young person in care an adult volunteer who provides independent, one-to-one visiting, advice and befriending support. Our independent visitors can become the only long-term, consistent source of support throughout a young person's time in care.
- Independent services provide independent person services for complaints by children and for reviewing whether children should be locked up in secure units on welfare grounds.
- Policy and campaigning to create a better system for all children and young people looked after by the state, for their care to be more child-centred and to give young people a greater say in decisions about their lives.
- Participation services to ensure children and young people have a voice in the development and delivery of services and campaigns, and through the process, provide the opportunity to develop relevant skills which will be of benefit to them in their future lives.
- Training, development and information for young people, advocates and child care workers, offering courses in advocacy, children’s rights and child-centred practice across a range of areas including the National Advocacy Qualification.
About the Role
You will co-ordinate and deliver a statutory independent visitor service to children and young people in care or care leavers of London.
You will recruit, assess and train volunteers to become independent visitors, who are volunteer befrienders to children and young people looked after or care leavers. You will manage a cash flow to fund suitable activities for independent visitors to enjoy with the young person. You will manage data and reporting for this statutory service so that service leads and other stakeholders can understand the activity in the service.
We are a child led service, you will not act outside of the young person’s instructions (except in matters of child protection and safety.)You will build strong relationships with the child or young person, independent visitors and other significant adults, you will support Independent Visitors to develop long term, meaningful friendships with the young person.
You will work in partnership with other parts of the service, organisation and external agencies and professionals. This is to ensure there are pathways to attract and retain Independent Visitors in the area and sometimes out of area.

Your role as Internal Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in bringing our new Internal Communications Strategy to life – aligning our internal communications with the charity’s Mission, Purpose and Values, and ensuring that colleagues feel informed, engaged, and inspired to shape our future together.
You will take full ownership of delivering the Strategy and think creatively about how to connect with everyone, and communicate in a way that drives understanding, collaboration and impact.
Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will work closely with colleagues across the charity, including Income Generation, Care and Retail, and senior leadership.
You will be passionate about Hope House Children’s Hospices’ Purpose to help every child with a life-threatening condition to live their best life, and keen to work with people at every level to keep them informed and inspired by the work of the charity and by the meaningful impact this has on children and families.
We are looking for an Internal Communications Coordinator who:

You will be responsible for delivering on shared strategic goals through compelling communications, externally and across our network of participants, staff, volunteers and organisations which offer the DofE. You’ll amplify the voices of young people, support relationships with funders and other partners, and continually promote the charity’s influence, reputation and brand profile.
The Head of Communications is one of two senior leadership roles in a wider Engagement team, which in December 2024 won Team of Year in the prestigious CharityComms Inspiring Communicator Awards. Working in partnership with our Head of Brand Marketing, you’ll build on that success, bringing a collaborative approach as we evolve our objectives and ways of working. You’ll play a key role as we mark DofE’s 70th birthday in 2026, then pivot to a new organisational strategy for 2026-31.
Critically, you will lead and shape the engagement of our network of almost 5,000 licensed organisations, 38,000 amazing volunteers and more than half a million participants, working closely with senior Operations colleagues. You’ll oversee staff communications, media and PR, and lead on corporate and crisis comms. Members of your team deliver our Youth Ambassadors programme and crucial support for DofE’s Fundraising and External Affairs.
We’re looking for someone who is versatile – able to switch between the big picture and the detail, with antennae equally alert to risks and opportunities. You’ll be an accomplished diplomat and influencer, with an ability to spot and make connections within and beyond the team. Given the breadth of the role, the successful candidate would ideally bring prior experience of different elements of the brief, together with proven experience of team leadership.

The role:
This is a key role within the Executive Leadership team, with accountability for Finance, Procurement and IT at the Globe. You will work collaboratively with the CEO and Executive leadership team to drive strong business as usual delivery, and provide provide balanced insight to Executive Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Group so that they can take responsibility for questioning routines and rituals, and for streamlining processes that improve efficiency.
The Finance Director is the lead on the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) and is a key part of other relevant committees. You will also attend and report at Board meetings, developing strong working relationships with Board members, the Artistic Director, Executive Leadership members, members of the Senior Leadership Group (SLG), the Finance and Procurement team, the Globe’s IT contractor, and colleagues throughout the Globe.
The skills:
· Chartered Accountant.
· Extensive Director level business experience in a complex organisation.
· A strategic thinker with entrepreneurial instincts
· Demonstrable experience in managing contracts.
· Experience within the charities sector including understanding of the relevant accounting, taxation and other regulatory requirements this presents.
· Empathy with the work, aims and mission of the Globe including an appreciation of the balance between the charitable purpose and commercial imperatives.
· An effective and flexible leadership and management style with demonstrable ability to inspire, motivate, coach and develop a team.
· Credibility and authority to work effectively and liaise internally with senior staff and externally with Trustees and other stakeholders.
· An excellent negotiator and influencer with string emotional intelligence and good communication skills.
· Analytical problem-solving ability with the appetite and energy to evaluate, challenge and change the status quo.
· Experience in financial and risk compliance and governance issues.
· Accessible and inclusive report writing and presentation skills demonstrated as a part of Board level reporting.
· Positive, determined, pragmatic, and resilient – able to inspire confidence and respect.
· The ability to work flexibly in a creative, fast-moving environment and understand the importance of artistic risk taking and to respond positively to it.
· Experience in, or a personal interest in the arts, heritage/museum, or creative industries.
· Experience of managing IT contracts or IT staff.
The team:
The Finance Department provides timely and accurate financial information to key stakeholders while protecting Shakespeare’s Globe assets and ensures compliance with laws and regulations in relation to financial and taxation matters. Serving as a key partner on topics requiring economic, financial and value for money inputs and expertise, the Finance Department manages Accounting and Financial Reporting, Tax, Banking Relationships, Procurement, Financial Risk Management, Contracts, Management Reporting, and external audit partners
