About the Role

As Pathway Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Middlesbrough Positive Pathways service, supporting around 100 people annually across accommodation and outreach. You will lead a small team of staff and volunteers delivering personalised, psychologically informed support to individuals experiencing homelessness or significant disadvantage.

You’ll oversee the management of 14 self-contained accommodation units, ensure high standards of housing management and compliance, and work closely with stakeholders across Middlesbrough and Teesside to promote pathways out of homelessness.

 

Key responsibilities include:

· Managing the delivery of RSAP and SHAP accommodation-based support services

· Ensuring robust risk assessments, support planning, and safeguarding procedures

· Line managing Positive Pathways Coordinators, Outreach Workers, and volunteers

· Ensuring compliance with health and safety, housing regulations and organisational policies

· Building and maintaining effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector agencies

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to establish and lead a community engagement and volunteer programme in an important new visitor attraction in the heart of London. Bevis Marks Synagogue dates back to 1701 and is the oldest synagogue in the UK. You will recruit, motivate and support a team of volunteers and develop a dynamic community engagement programme as part of a small, dedicated team at this special, historic site.

In 2019, Bevis Marks Synagogue received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to restore the synagogue and create The Dangoor Heritage Centre. This project displays and interprets the synagogue’s historic collection for the first time, and enhances visitor facilities. The S&P Sephardi Community established the Bevis Marks Synagogue Heritage Foundation (BMSHF) to manage this project and the site's ongoing visitor operations. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic heritage engagement professional to help make Bevis Marks Synagogue a vibrant place of worship that shares its unique story with a wider community of people of all faiths and none.

Bevis Marks Synagogue, completed in 1701, is the oldest synagogue in the UK and the oldest in continuous use in Europe. Its Grade I listed Wren-style design, well-preserved interior and fittings make it exceptionally historically significant. It is still a working synagogue with a community that has been engaged in the development of the new Dangoor Heritage Centre.

The S&P Sephardi Community’s collection of objects, rich archive, and intangible heritage, such as music and traditions, offer a continuous record of Jewish life in Britain since the mid-seventeenth century. The collection is mainly silver and textiles and many items are of national significance, providing rare insights into the practice of Sephardi Jewish worship, and London’s changing fashions and craftsmanship.

Visitors will be welcomed by volunteers and will explore the synagogue and Dangoor Heritage Centre with the help of an audio guide which includes insightful contributions from a number of members of the Bevis Marks community who have participated in the project. Volunteers will also engage visitors throughout the exhibition areas and support our events programme, shop and catering offer and provide a friendly welcoming experience for a wide range of visitors, from within the UK and abroad.

The construction project is set to be completed by early summer 2025, with the exhibition fit-out over the summer and opening is anticipated in autumn 2025.

Hours: 37 hours a week. Two Sundays per month will be required, along with evening and Bank Holiday working as required by the needs of the business.

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant who can work with our high performing team to deliver a first-class management accounting service to the British Museum.

You will be responsible for ensuring that best practice is embedded across the British Museum in relation to fund accounting, grant management and the financial aspects of the Museum's Advancement strategy and Public Engagement activities. This is an exciting chance to work with a first-class team in a world renown institution.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Support the Collections and Public Engagement business areas in development and monitoring of our public engagement and advancement strategies. Advise on fund accounting and grant management, heritage assets accounting and financial processes.
• Project work - advise colleagues on Museum wide projects and develop processes for/contribute financial expertise towards these, analyse income and expenditure streams and provide and review financial information for business cases and funding applications.
• Accounting services and line management - line management of management accountants, including mentoring and developing your team. Preparation of management reports and quarterly forecasts. Support budgeting processes for departments across projects. Coordination of financial information for reports and paper, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and other activities.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or other.
• Knowledge of fund accounting and grant management
• Good technical knowledge of relevant regulatory and accounting frameworks (including Accounting Standards, VAT, income tax, NI), IT literacy with strong excel skills and experience of accounting systems.
• Audit experience including some post qualification experience.
• Experience of project management.
• Demonstrable ability to juggle conflicting demands and prioritise personal and team workloads appropriately.
• Able to demonstrate strong judgement and able to present complex financial information to senior and non-financial staff clearly.
• Experience of developing and streamlining processes and setting service standards

Supporter Experience Assistant

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £23,875 per annum

Rotherham Hospice is a charity dedicated to the people of Rotherham, offering specialist palliative and end of life care to their community since 1996.

The Role

The Supporter Experience Assistant is the first point of contact for supporters and administration tasks. Offering a high level of support, guidance, stewardship to supporters whilst implementing the operational delivery of all departmental transactional requirements related to the delivery of their fundraising and retail activities.

This is a pivotal role in ensuring supporter care and administrative excellence is achieved and maintained in an accurate and timely manner and that all queries are responded to quickly and consistently. Working collaboratively with colleagues from various departments including the finance team the Supporter Experience Assistant will undertake a team proactive approach to all aspects of delivery and immediately identify any potential risks and issues which will jeopardise supporter care and administrative excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a main point of contact in relation to supporter queries and administration tasks, reacting to all incoming queries in a positive and proactive manner.
• Assess supporter needs and offer help and support to minimising the need for multiple point of contact.
• Accurate and timely recording of donations and donor details on their supporter database.
• Be proactive in offering alternative ways to support the charity.
• Providing advice and support to member of the public trying to support the Hospice including problem solving with digital platforms, booking events, processing donations, booking collections/deliveries etc.
• Be proactive in growing supporter engagement, income generation and ensuring add on fundraising methods are captured i.e. gift aid, consents etc.
• Ensure regular provision of accurate income generation records in a timely manner on areas including but not limited to: Stock, Shops, Community, Corporate, Trusts & Foundations, Events, Individual Giving and Lottery.
• Effectively manage all data inputting, administrative and supporter care tasks within the department including maintaining accurate records of donor details and donations made, both digitally and paper based to ensure consistency and accuracy in a timely manner.
• Promote the services of the department at all appropriate opportunity.
• Assist with the management of all databases/CRM systems to enable accurate reporting measures to be undertaken.
• Maintain files and documents, archiving duplication and unnecessary files, where appropriate.
• Undertake regular file audits.
• Respond to all administrative queries and requests in a timely manner.
• Assist with the management of the department email inbox responding to contact requests and distributing the workload to relevant team members.
• Undertake any additional activities elsewhere in the charity as required and within your capability.
• Report any concerns or possible improvements to the relevant Head of Department.
• Support and attend the Hospice events and appeals.

Skills and Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment
• Previous experience in fundraising
• IT literate
• Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors through written and verbal communication
• Experience working with CRM systems.
