The Role

SERT is re-organising our structure geographically into three Catchment Clusters in the South East (defined as South London, East and West). Having conducted a successful pilot in the East, we are now expanding this approach to the new South London and West Catchment Clusters.

The West Catchment Cluster (WCC) requires an individual with proven leadership experience who can lead this newly formed team and strategically maximise SERT’s impact in the predominantly Surrey-based catchments of the Loddon, Wey and Mole.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Help to establish and enhance a ‘one-team’ ethos across the CC, whilst also ensuring it is embedded within the wider organisation
• Lead WCC’s prioritisation on the key activities (both restoration and engagement) that we wish to undertake in our Surrey Catchments.
• Direct line management of two roles (this may increase in the future):

i)Working with the Natural Flood Management Lead to grow the opportunities of using nature to hold back water in the landscape 

ii) Managing the Catchment Manager to ensure our Catchment Partnerships are action-based.

• Identify and directly support new project funding opportunities from a range of sources to grow our impact.
• Ensure WCC is at the right tables where decisions affecting its rivers are being made and has an important and respected voice in those decisions.

What We Are Looking For

This role is an exciting challenge and will require you to build on the foundations of what has already been achieved within these catchments. You will need to maximise impact by working with our Specialist Teams to priorities SERT’s activities and strategically guide river restoration projects.  You will also work closely with our Working With Communities team (WWC) to improve engagement with the communities who live along these rivers. It is desirable if you have a good overview of river catchments, data monitoring and the role that nature-based solutions (such as Natural Flood Management) play in providing multiple benefits.

About You

Besides having a passion for rivers, we require an individual who can confidently develop and grow a new team, whilst seeking new opportunities for impact. You will be adept at business development and will be comfortable supporting strategic relationships with catchment partners, local government, water companies, local businesses and environmental NGOs. You will need a good overview of Health and Safety best practise, empowering our Restoring River Catchments (RRC) team to undertake effective project delivery and risk management in the field.

Fundraising at Solace works closely with colleagues responsible for winning and managing statutory funding contracts, and is situated within the Business Development Directorate, alongside our award-winning Communications, Partnerships & Public Affairs teams. You will collaborate with colleagues within Fundraising – including Corporate, Individual Giving and Community – as well as across the organisation including senior leadership and Solace’s wider support and volunteer networks such as trustees and its lived-experience-led Shadow Board.

About the Role

Philanthropy has been identified as a key opportunity and will play a central part in future income growth. In this newly created role, you will lead the establishment and growth of philanthropy fundraising for Solace. Responsible for building and managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, advisors, senior volunteers and trusts and foundations, you will use your entrepreneurship and excellent communication and influencing skills to secure and steward committed, high-value, mutually rewarding funding partnerships for Solace.

You should have:

• Significant experience and a proven track record of event planning, coordination and delivery to an exceptionally high standard, within the non-profit sector.

Marine Society have an exciting new role! Help us deliver and expand our core bursary and welfare services and support the needs of seafarers. You will manage our highly renowned Slater scholarship fund and other training bursaries, together with the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and careers advice and guidance resources.

You’ll be expected to have a good understanding of seafaring training and certification requirements and have experience of working in the not-for-profit sector. A background working in the maritime sector is helpful but not essential.

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is the leading maritime charity for youth development and lifelong learning. About the role

This new role is to manage the bursary and welfare services of Marine Society. This requires an in depth understanding of seafarer’s needs and the training and certification they require to progress in their careers, both at sea and ashore. The manager will also oversee wider aspects of careers information and guidance and assisting with fundraising activity

Responsibilities

· Assess and process all bursary applications, including Slater Scholarships, Worcester, Hanway and Green Skills bursaries against clearly defined eligibility criteria

· Authorise the award of financial bursaries and approve beneficiary claims and expenses

· Maximise the use bursary funding and ensure successful outcomes for beneficiaries

· Identify new bursary funding opportunities and devise bids in collaboration with the fundraising team

· Manage the bursary and Coming Ashore programme restricted funds. Monitor and report on expenditure and activity

· Manage the operation of the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and ensure its sustainability

· Produce statistical reports and analysis pertaining to bursaries and welfare services for internal and external stakeholders.

· Put in place and maintain online and physical resources that provide seafarers with information, advice and guidance and supports maritime career development.

· To lead the annual Matrix accreditation process

· Work with the Digital Marketing Coordinator to ensure the effective marketing of bursary and welfare provision through a range of media and ensure the website remains up to date and relevant to seafarer needs.

· Represent Marine Society on external committees and forums that relate to welfare, including Merchant Navy Welfare Board and Nautilus Slater Management Committee

Requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications/experience
• In depth knowledge and understanding of the training needs of UK and international seafarers including their welfare and certification routes within the maritime sector both at sea and ashore
• Experience of working as team leader or manager in the not-for-profit sector
• Experience of preparing and presenting reports to management team and funders as required
• Ability to use social media and press effectively to inform and promote seafarer welfare and professional development.

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, creative and collaborative Head of Brand and Marketing to lead our public identity, supporter engagement and campaign visibility. This is a key leadership role responsible for shaping how we present our work, grow our profile and inspire support for people affected by serious and life changing injury.

This role will lead the work to shape and strengthen the Day One brand, ensuring it is consistent, inclusive and compelling across every touchpoint, from national fundraising campaigns to service information. Responsible for leading and developing a small, talented team creating a supportive environment where creativity and collaboration thrive. Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising and Services, you’ll bring teams together around shared campaigns and supporter journeys that deepen engagement and expand our reach. This role blends high-level strategic planning with practical delivery leadership ideal for someone who thrives in purpose-led environments and wants to build a brand that truly makes a difference.

What You Will Bring 

You’ll bring experience in brand and marketing that goes beyond delivery with a track record of shaping how an organisation is seen, understood and supported. That might be from the charity sector, or from campaigns that focused on health, justice or hidden disabilities. You may have worked on sensitive storytelling, built public trust, or led bold campaigns that asked people to think differently.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

·To support the community work of Adoption UK Scotland and their kinship services, to provide professionals, parents/carers, children, and young people access to information, resources, and services for kinship communities and to engage with families in their local communities.

·To offer a front-line service, primarily to kinship families based in the East Lothian Community, by supporting delivery and administration for activities and events, including regular support groups delivery, youth and family events. Support of events in other areas in Scotland based on resources and availability.

·To hold and manage kinship care family cases, providing direct family support within service guidelines and delivery model.

·Support planning, organisation of, and attendance at, in person and online events through funded projects and services to bring together kinship families and individuals, enable peer support, build a sense of community and promote an active and supportive Community Network.

·To respond to enquiries received via the Information and Support Service and relevant email inboxes with relevant information and/or signposting.

·To be part of the wider kinship service team within Adoption UK Scotland, working across teams and services.

·Work collaboratively with colleagues across all services areas of Adoption UK

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Working alongside service leads within the kinship teams, and with the wider community team members to plan and deliver specific events and activities for East Lothian Council Kinship community members, and kinship families in wider areas where resources and availability allows.

·Provide administrative coordination for community groups, including collating event materials, gathering feedback and evaluations for reporting purposes, supporting delivery of events, maintaining records using existing required systems, and responding to enquiries via our Information and Support line and relevant email inboxes.

·To facilitate referral meetings with new kinship carers accessing the East Lothian Kinship Support Service, including initial assessment of need to identify suitable support and signposting requirements

·To hold responsibility for administrative requirements relating to referrals and cases within the East Lothian Kinship Support Service, including setting up new cases and recording service delivery interactions, using existing Adoption UK systems and processes

·To work with colleagues in the Foundations for Families kinship support service to support delivery where time and resources allow, and coordinate activities between services where appropriate.

·To report to line manager and directors in Adoption UK Scotland relating to service delivery, including contributing to monitoring and reporting on activities.

·To work alongside Adoption UK colleagues to develop and improve resources and services for kinship carers

Knowledge and experience

• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the kinship legislation system, issues and challenges faced by kinship individuals. (Essential)

The Key Relationships programme sits at the heart of Greenpeace UK’s fundraising, securing the philanthropic investment that powers its campaigning work. The team raises around £15–16 million annually from major donors, trusts and foundations, and legacies, contributing significantly to the organisation’s wider fundraising income of approximately £37 million.

Legacy giving is a vital and growing part of this programme, generating £5–7.5 million each year and playing a crucial role in securing long-term, sustainable income. Following a recent step-change in investment, there is now a significant opportunity to accelerate growth and position legacy giving more centrally across Greenpeace UK’s fundraising and supporter engagement.

We are now seeking a Head of Legacy Giving to lead this important area. Reporting to the Deputy Fundraising Director, Key Relationships, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Greenpeace UK’s legacy programme, overseeing both marketing and administration to maximise future income from gifts in wills.

You will lead a small specialist team and work closely with colleagues across the organisation, as well as internationally across the Greenpeace network. The role offers the opportunity to influence both UK and global legacy strategy, contributing to a shared ambition for growth across multiple markets.

As Head of Legacy Giving, you will:

• Develop and deliver Greenpeace UK’s legacy giving strategy, driving growth in both pledged and realised income
• Lead and integrate legacy marketing and administration, ensuring a seamless and high-performing programme
• Manage and develop a team of two – Senior Legacy Marketing Officer, Legacy Case Manager – fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
• Work across fundraising, campaigns and communications to embed legacy giving within supporter journeys and organisational priorities
• Identify and drive opportunities to grow legacy income, including within high-value and blended giving approaches
• Oversee legacy casework and administration, ensuring excellent supporter care, compliance and effective income realisation
• Build relationships with high-value pledgers, prospects and executors, supporting long-term engagement and stewardship
• Represent Greenpeace UK internationally, sharing best practice and supporting global legacy growth ambitions

Essential skills and experience:

• Full-spectrum legacy fundraising experience, across both legacy marketing and legacy administration
• Ability to operate at Head-level, including experience of developing and delivering strategy, while remaining close to delivery
• Line management experience with ability to lead and motivate teams, building capability and performance
• Budget experience must include managing similar levels of investment (six-figures+)
• Strong understanding of the UK legacy market, trends and best practice
• Experience of working across teams and influencing stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes
• Confidence operating at a senior level within a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences
• A proactive, opportunity-focused approach — able to connect ideas, spot potential and make things happen
