Fundraising Manager

As the Fundraising Manager for Behind Closed Doors, you will play a key role in developing and delivering a fundraising strategy aligned with the organisation’s vision, mission and values. This is an exciting and varied role with an opportunity for the post-holder to put their own stamp on it. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Office of Development and Alumni Relations team at the University of Southampton, creating and delivering a range of strategic communications for our alumni and supporter community.
You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering a whole plethora of communication tools to support our fundraising and engagement, with a particular focus on our upcoming Campaign for Southampton. Due to launch in 2027, this will be our biggest fundraising campaign ever, with a target of £100m. One of our key fundraising focusses will be the Institute for Medical Innovation; we will raise £50m to build this groundbreaking facility, which will address the world’s most pressing healthcare challenges through interdisciplinary research. We are looking for an experienced communications professional to support us with creating engaging communications. You will be responsible for activities such as:
- Developing compelling propositions
- Delivering the communications to support major gift prospect fundraising events, from creating invitations and shaping the themes, through to developing event materials and briefing speakers
- Creating and editing a wide range of communications pieces for our major gift prospect audience, from written case studies through to web content and video
- Managing the development and execution of new creative for the Campaign for Southampton
- Sourcing new stories and gathering information through interviews and desk research
- Supporting the team where needed on both fundraising and alumni engagement communications
This is a part-time role, working four days a week (but will consider 3.5 days), on a fixed-term contract for 24 months. Like many organisations we’re currently working hybrid, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. There is the opportunity to work more days in the office as desired. About the role
Having established a strong fundraising capability and team with significant income growth over the last 4 years, Kidney Care UK is now looking for an exceptional Head of Fundraising to take the Charity to the next level.
You will work closely with the Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications to develop and implement a new 5-year fundraising strategy for the charity, with direct responsibility for managing Trusts and Foundations, Individual Giving, Legacy, In Memory, Community, Trade, and Challenge Event income streams.

About You
You are a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with proven administrative experience in a fast-paced environment. · Maintain and update fundraising budgets, process invoices, and support post-appeal reviews with external suppliers and partners.

About the role
Medact is hiring for the new role of Fundraising Manager: Trusts & Grants to secure grant funds for the organisation over a critical one-year period. The new Fundraising Manager will be responsible for completing applications already in the pipeline, and then setting out a plan to apply for as many successful grants as possible in the period and delivering it.
The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team and our programme staff, to identify, develop and write grant proposals to relevant funders, for both restricted and unrestricted income streams.
About you
This is a skilled role but you don’t need to have had a job in an NGO before or be a professional campaigner to be right for it. You might have successfully fundraised for a local community organisation or a grassroots campaign on a social justice or health issue that you care about.
You’ll have strong skills in developing and writing applications, with a strong understanding of the funding landscape and potential relevant grantmakers. You need to be a great communicator, able to translate the work of an organisation into language tailored for different funding bodies. You’ll also be a strong team player, able to work with relevant staff members to develop winning applications that fit properly within our existing strategy and areas of work.

As Development Manager for Perth Theatre and Concert Hall you will take the lead role in developing and implementing our fundraising strategy and growing our charitable income across Trusts & Foundations, Individual Giving and Corporate Sponsorship.
A natural people person and confident communicator you will build relationships with key funding partners and donors to identify the most impactful fundraising opportunities and maximise returns.
You will collaborate with departments across the organisation to understand their fundraising needs crafting creative and compelling propositions that support our vision: ensuring everyone in our communities experiences the transformational power of the performing arts.
Working closely with the Leadership Team, with responsibility for two Development Officers, you will:
Fundraising Management and Development
- Review the fundraising strategy to achieve the agreed annual fundraising targets;

- Identify/manage fundraising campaigns, creating impactful storytelling for supporter engagement;

- Work with the Director, Programming,Head of Learning & Engagement and others to devise high-quality applications and cases for support;
- Oversee the preparation of timely, accurate funder reports in collaboration with relevant teams;
- Nurture relationships with Trusts & Foundations contacts.
Corporate Sponsorship
- Review the sponsorship offering and create a pitch pack for prospective partners;
- Proactively seek company partnerships and increase sponsor numbers and fees;
- Collaborate across departments to identify projects with sponsorship potential.
Person Specification
- Experience in the charity sector, ideally in an arts or cultural environment;
- Team player;
- Outstanding communicator and persuasive storyteller;
- Enthousiastic about new fundraising opportunities and sector trends.
Essential:
- Experience in developing and delivering a fundraising strategy for a similar-sized organisation;

The Role
As Fundraising Manager, you’ll play a central role in helping Winning Scotland deliver sustainable growth by identifying and securing new income across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, statutory and government funding, and public sector contracts.
Working closely with programme leads and the senior leadership team, you’ll research, prioritise, and secure funding opportunities to support the charity’s ambitious growth plans over the next 2–3 years.
