We are now recruiting for a Lead Coach in Brighton - an outstanding opportunity to work as part of a local church to deliver the Spear Programme.
You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. Over the last 20 years, Spear has supported more than 11,000 young people across the UK with the work-ready skills and mindset they need to succeed in employment, no matter the challenges they face. But we don’t want to stop there.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.
Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]
- Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
- Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room
- Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively
- Handling safeguarding
- Taking a lead on rating the work readiness of the trainees and making sure data is inputted and used correctly on salesforce
- Tracking trainee progress on the dashboards
- Liaising with volunteers for key programme engagement events such as mock interviews and external panels. Leading on briefings and communications with these volunteers
Delivery of Spear Career [20%]
- Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees
Training the Graduate Coach [10%]
- Contributing towards the training and developing of the Graduate Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback
Trainee recruitment [10%]
- Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics
Continuous professional development
- Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and possibly supporting on leading internal training such as Grad Coach Training
Active participation in and support for church team and mission
- As the Spear programme is run in partnership with a local church partner, you will establish a strong personal connection with the church to develop the engagement and backing of church members and help build a strong network of supporters for the Spear programme. As part of this you may be asked to speak at church/events and contribute to prayer meetings as per Resurgo’s Christian ethos and the mission of the church

Role Title: External Communications and Advocacy Lead
This is a rare opportunity to shape the new communications function in a thriving cancer charity, establishing Shine as the go-to charity supporting all young adults living with any type of cancer in the UK.
Responsible to: Co-CEOs
Location: Hybrid, with two to three days per week at Shine’s offices in Blackheath, Southeast London.

Main purpose of the role:

As part of our growth plan, we are delighted to be hiring our first Communications and Advocacy Lead. Working on our external communications strategy to build authority and be the go-to voice for younger adults (aged 20 to 49 years) living with cancer, this person will be responsible for managing all external communications. In addition, will work closely with the rest of the Shine team to ensure consistent external messaging.
Key Responsibilities
These include:
● Develop implementation plans to support Shine’s communications strategy to build authority in the cancer support space.
● Responsible for developing the Shine narrative, brand voice, and talking points to support external stories and campaigns, and to co-create fundraising messages with the Fundraising Manager and Fundraising Consultant.
● Responsible for all external communications with media including national and regional outlets, print and broadcast, digital channels and titles read by healthcare professionals.
● Supervision of the social media output from Shine, ensuring consistency with the overall communications plan.
● Ability to represent Shine at external stakeholder meetings.
● Working closely with the Shine team to raise Shine’s profile through advocacy activities in the cancer community and healthcare professionals.
● Work with Shine co-CEOs to develop their external profiles through thought-leadership, speaker and advocacy platforms.
Person Specification
Essential skills:
● Ability to develop multi-channel communications plans, using social, digital and traditional media platforms
● Knowledge of UK health media including health correspondents and reporters for national news outlets (print & TV and radio)
● A good eye for design, with the ability to manage, develop and implement brand guidelines
● Experience of working with media databases and press release distribution services
● Excellent writing skills and experience of writing materials for media
● Ability to create media angles and stories from data and third-party content
● Identify platforms for Shine thought-leadership, particularly for the co-CEOs
● Strong skills in using online technology platforms including Google workspace, Canva, YouTube and MS Office.
Desirable skills:
● Experience of working alongside expert suppliers including design and content, public relations agencies and consultants.
● Experience of managing projects remotely, including using tools such as Asana.
Core competencies:
● Empathy - understanding of the issues faced by the young adults (20-49 yrs.) living with cancer
● Attention to detail -must deliver accurate content to a high standard
● Self-directed - must be able to work independently and make strategic recommendations to Shine co-CEOs on all aspects of Shine communications
● Collaborative - ability to represent Shine and work in partnership with third parties including patient groups, medical professional groups and industry.

SCOPE OF WORK
1. Grantmaking Due Diligence & Onboarding

Coordinate the collection, review, and secure storage of due diligence documentation from prospective grantees.

About the Role
As our Wales Lead, you’ll take on a high-impact, strategic role at the forefront of creating real change for young people across Wales. You won’t just be shaping our vision—you’ll be bringing it to life by building powerful partnerships, influencing key decision-makers, and championing the growth of our enterprise and financial education programmes in the places they’re needed most.
This role is anything but ordinary. One day you could be speaking at a roundtable in the Senedd, the next you might be rallying new corporate partners, supporting a school’s first enterprise challenge, or welcoming a team of volunteers to inspire students during a school workshop. You’ll be a connector, an ambassador, and a changemaker—leading the charge to embed our work into Welsh policy and priorities while forging strong, purposeful relationships across Welsh Government, local authorities, schools, and community organisations.
You’ll be the face and voice of Young Enterprise in Wales—energising a wide network of businesses, educators, funders, and volunteers to scale our impact and amplify our reach. With a strong focus on growth, fundraising, and influence, you’ll help us secure the resources and recognition needed to empower young people with the skills, confidence, and resilience they need for life, work, and the future.

Key Responsibilities
· Lead the strategic growth of Young Enterprise in Wales
· Lead on policy awareness, ensuring the organisation remains responsive to Government priorities and commissioned reports

· Identify and secure funding to support our work across Wales with an ambitious focus on growing income
· Deliver and support the rollout of YE programmes in schools and other settings

The Legal Administrator is a key component of the Asylum Aid team, overseeing all of our administrative systems and processes, and providing vital administrative support to our legal casework staff.
The Training Programme Coordinator supports the delivery of Asylum Aid’s two strategic partnerships that aim to help address the continuing fall in availability of immigration advice across England and Wales. The Compass Project and the Migrant Justice Greater London (MJGL) Partnership are designed to increase learning, collaboration and peer support opportunities between advice agencies and ultimately improve the provision of immigration advice to people seeking asylum, refugees, and other vulnerable people in the immigration system. This role provides key administrative support and coordination to ensure the effective delivery of both the Compass and MJGL training projects, working closely with Asylum Aid’s Immigration Supervisors and Director of Legal Casework, as well as external consultants, including the Learning Partner, managers and advisers at partner organisations.
Compass is Asylum Aid’s Advisor Development Programme of training, supervision and peer support for immigration advisers working in advice deserts across England and Wales. It is funded by the Justice Together Initiative. More information about the project can be found on our website here.
The Migrant Justice Greater London (MJGL) project is a partnership between Asylum Aid, Refugee Action and Praxis, designed to deliver legal training and supervision to frontline organisations across London. It is funded by the Greater London Authority.
Key responsibilities
Legal Administrator (approximately 4 days a week)
· To manage incoming and outgoing legal post in line with Asylum Aid’s procedures
· To post, email or arrange the dispatch of legal correspondence to clients, the Home Office, court or tribunal, counsel etc
· To receive and make telephone calls relating to casework activity, as well as covering the receptionist function in answering general incoming calls
· To manage the legal enquiries email inbox, triaging emails as appropriate
· To manage the team calendar and oversee key dates system
· To schedule and book appointments for clients, including the booking of interpreters or other experts where necessary
· To ensure all Legal Aid Agency monitoring information and other related information on cases such as disbursements and payment of invoices is recorded timely and accurately
· To assist with the preparation of electronic documents for the Home Office, court or tribunal
· To organise and maintain Asylum Aid’s legal archive, case filing system, legal library, and other documents
· To attend legal team meetings

Training Programme Coordinator (approximately 1 day a week)
· To provide general administrative support for the Compass and MJGL programmes
· To monitor project timelines, plans, and budgets
· To organise in-person and remote training events, draft meeting agendas, take accurate minutes, coordinate travel for project participants, make and record project payments and provide logistical support for in-person events
· To assist in the promotion of the projects, including assisting with drafting external communications and social media, outreach to identify potential partner organisations, and supporting the recruitment of project participants
· To act as a central point of contact for multiple training projects, liaising with key stakeholders, including participant organisations, funders, the learning partner, and the clinical supervision provider
· To support the Learning Partner in monitoring and learning from the two projects, including facilitating learning opportunities with the partners and other organisations.

Selection Process

This joint role represents an exciting partnership between two organisations committed to racial justice, LGBTQ+ inclusion and systemic transformation.
1. Just Like Us (3.5 days/week): To support the delivery of Just Like Us’ Ambassador and School Talks programmes – including recruitment, training and coordination of young LGBT+ volunteers and engaging with schools to foster inclusive environments.
2. Black Queer & Thriving: There is potential for this role to expand in scope (up to 1.5 additional days per week), subject to funding. Should this occur, the role may include additional responsibilities in line with the aims of the Black LGBTQ+ Working Group and Southwark engagement priorities. Any change in working hours or duties would be discussed and agreed in advance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Just Like Us (3.5 days/week)
- Support the delivery of the Ambassador Programme, including recruitment, training and retention of LGBT+ volunteers aged 18–25.
- Coordinate and run community events for Black LGBT+ young people to support outreach and recruitment of volunteers.
- Represent Just Like Us at events such as conferences and prides to amplify our programmes to a range of audiences.
- Support Just Like Us volunteer recruitment drives by building relationships with university societies and volunteering services, community partners and charity partners in London and the South East.
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of LGBT+ mentors.
- Attend relevant cross-team meetings with the Just Like Us team such as the fortnightly Ambassador Recruitment meeting
- Support with the quality assurance of school talks through observations and slide checks.
- Assist the volunteering team with the coordination and delivery of ambassador skills workshops where needed.
- Work with the project evaluation consultant to assist with the running of focus groups.
- Conduct exit interviews with Black LGBT+ ambassadors.

About the role

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. As a key member of our Community Fundraising team, you will work closely with the Senior Public Fundraising Manager and Head of Supporter Engagement on new and existing fundraising activities, helping to maintain and develop existing relationships and work proactively to identify new contacts and opportunities for development.
