SUMMARY
Position Title: Operations Lead
Level: Level 4
Salary: £31, 320 - 36, 720 (FTE yearly)
Reports to: Director of Finance, HR and Operations
Location: Liberation centre Brixton, London (New office in Brixton)/ Remote working within the UK with at least 2 days work from our office (Pro rata for part time)
Contract: Part time (32hrs/weekly), fixed-term contract for 2 years, with potential for extension and role expansion.
Hours: TAA has flexible working hours, with some expected evenings and weekends due to the nature of the role. All extra hours are reimbursed as Time off in Lieu (TOIL).
Start date: As soon as possible (potentially August)

The Advocacy Academy is an activist youth movement. We serve as the political home for grassroots youth organising and the catalyst for collective action. The lives of the young people we work alongside have been directly shaped by living in an unjust world, and we exist to turn their anger into action.
Young people are often the catalysts for major social change, from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee at the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, to the Soweto Uprising mobilising young people to resist the apartheid regime's education policies, to the Sunrise Movement redrawing the electoral map across America, and more recently encampments and protests across the world protesting the genocide in Palestine. How successfully they achieve real and lasting change depends on whether they are organised and whether they have the right strategy and tactics to be effective.
This is why we are looking for an Operations Lead capable of envisioning the full journey of a young person through their time with The Advocacy Academy from the first activation point to whenever they choose to end their journey with us. We want someone who is excited work with us in creating an environment that supports our mission and aspiration for our young people.
We want our young leaders to win and to build real power across the UK that ensures that the generations that follow aren’t just inheriting our mess, but our equipped and ready to fix it. That is why we are looking for someone passionate, a trusted partner, and the go-to person who will support us in all aspects of facility management. Working closely with the Operations and Community team, you will be responsible for the physical spaces and infrastructure within TAA. This includes overseeing the maintenance, security, and functionality of the Liberation Centre, equipment, and physical assets. Your focus is on the efficient operation of the physical environment.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- You will become a key member of the Finance, HR & Operations Team, including but not limited to:
- Supporting the Director of Finance, HR & Operations in maintaining and improving the relevant operational systems and processes.
- Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Operations in ensuring the delivery of our Liberation Centre strategy: working closely with the Community team to ensure the Centre provides a functional, welcoming, inclusive, and safe space environment for our staff, young people, and community.
- Building relationships with other departments, engaging with them to understand their needs, and communicating regular Operations updates.
- You will ensure that your responsibilities run like well-oiled machines by being a conductor of the orchestra through becoming a key member of the Finance, HR and Operations team supporting the team to achieve their strategic objectives for the year:
- Provide Support for TAA’s facilities, including cost savings and ensuring a safe and conducive work environment for our staff, members, and community groups by:
- Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Ops in ensuring the maintenance of our Liberation Centre, which includes: establishing protocols and processes for healthy work environments, supporting in making the space accessible and safe for all its user groups.
- Supporting maintenance and safety checks are regularly carried out at the Liberation Centre, including security and fire systems, evacuation, and emergency drills.
- Acting as the main point of contact with the council and centre manager and liaising on matters related to maintenance and repair.
- Being the main point of contact for building contractors.
- Supporting with identifying first aiders and marshals, acting as one of them, and ensuring that the first aid box is adequately stocked up at the Liberation Centre and that the fire extinguishers are within date.
- Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Operations with the development of applicable risk assessment forms (e.g., general risk assessment for the Liberation Centre, fire risk assessment, COVID, remote work, employee wellbeing, incident report, etc.) and their completion as may be required.
- Rolling out mandatory Health and Safety training courses and undergoing regular H&S training to keep your knowledge updated and informed of changes in regulations.
- Ensuring the space is well-stocked, and holding our procurement practices
- Liaising with our cleaner and making sure that the relationship works well and that the cleaner is supported in their access of the space
- Supporting the Community team in holding overall safety practices for the Liberation Centre
- Provide Support on TAA IT infrastructure, to include but not limited to:
- Act as the primary point of contact for our IT support provider, engaging with them to ensure they are managing troubleshooting and issue resolution well.
- Support the Finance, HR and Ops Director with planning for future IT infrastructure needs, keeping scalability and cost-efficiency in mind.
- Assist the Director Finance and Resources with monitoring IT and data protection compliance throughout the organisation, ensuring secure data storage, transfers, archiving and deletion.
- Sourcing and Setting up laptops and phones for staff, and supporting staff in using tech as part of inductions.
- Keep updated with changes in legislation that may need to be considered within The Advocacy Academy’s facilities and IT management.
- Managing our trello project management tool.
- Leading on tech repair via apple support or penelope for the staff team
- Provide HR support, to include but not limited to
- Supporting the Head of People with DBS checks and the onboarding of new staff, ensuring they have the necessary information and equipment for their work.
- Working with the Head of People to ensure that all our candidates have a great experience from the beginning to the end.
- Support with Office induction for new starters.

- Provide M & E Support, to include but not limited to
- Coordinating and supporting the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) infrastructure across departments to track impact and efficiency.
- Managing and optimising Airtable dashboards and databases to streamline data reporting and enable insights for decision-making.
- Provide Finance Support, to include but not limited to:
- Be the main point of contact for our day to day Host finance administration.
- Supporting our team with generating sales invoices.
- Monitoring and responding to our Operations and expenses and invoicing slack and email messages.
- Processing invoices and expenses in a timely and accurate manner.
- Supporting fundraising team with gift-aid reconciliation.

Overview:
Spires supports homeless and vulnerably housed people in South London. Spires has undergone a period of rapid transformation, moving to a model of multi-site working across three London Boroughs. Our core services include, day centre style drop ins for homeless people, a Women’s drop in, a Refugee drop in and outreach targeted at supporting Women who are sex working.
The Head of Fundraising and Communications will be joining the organisation at an exciting time. Recent successful funding outcomes provide a short period of relative funding stability and an opportunity for the post holder to develop our communications and community fundraising strategies.
Part 1: Job profile
1.1 Purpose of job
To generate income from a diverse funding pool that includes trusts and foundations, legacy and individual giving, community giving, government contracts and corporate support. Trusts and foundations remain the primary funding source for Spires so maintaining consistent application output is a core element of the role.
Oversee Spires’ external relations and public profile. The post holder will be responsible for all communications and will look for areas to increase the organisations profile.
Work with Spires CEO and the Head of Client Services to ensure that data and outcomes are being effectively captured in a way that is helpful for evidencing impact.
1.2 Position in organisation
The post holder joins Spires’ Senior Leadership Team and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The post holder will join the finance, fundraising and risk subcommittee which includes members of the board of trustees.
The post holder will manage the Communications and Community Engagement Lead who currently leads on community fundraising, social media and volunteer recruitment.
Part 2: Key duties and responsibilities
2.1 Management Responsibilities

Part 4: Summary of terms and conditions of service
Location: The postholder will be an employee of The Spires Centre. This post is based at 2nd Floor, Elmfield House, 5 Stockwell Mews, SW9 9GX This role will by hybrid with three days in the office and two days from home.
Probation: This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period.
Notice: This post is subject to an 12 weeks’ notice period once confirmed in post.
Annual leave: The annual leave entitlement is 35 days per year including 8 bank holidays.
Pension: The Spires Centre will contribute 5% of annual salary for those who qualify for our group pension plan.

Founded in 1989, the mission of Rainforest Foundation UK (RFUK) is to support Indigenous Peoples and other communities of the world’s rainforests in their efforts to protect their environment and fulfil their rights to land, life and livelihood. Locally, it supports forest communities to gain land rights, challenge destructive industries, manage their forests and protect their environment. Globally, it campaigns to influence laws and policies that protect rainforests and their inhabitants.
The DRC Fieldwork Coordinator role sits within RFUK’s largest Programmes team: Land & Livelihoods. A central aspect of the L&L team’s work is supporting communities to establish and manage community forests as well as working at the national and policy levels to achieve wider impact. This role will be pivotal to a new phase of community forest expansion in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is being supported by the Rainforest Trust. In partnership with five local organisations, the role will contribute to the objective of expanding community forests in two highly biodiverse landscapes: the periphery of the Maïko National Park in North Kivu province and the area surrounding the Salonga National Park in Maï Ndombe province.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years’ experience of project management support in a charity or international development context, as well as 3 years’ of experience in supporting community land use planning and livelihoods initiatives in rural contexts. We are seeking someone who has a firm grasp on forest governance and human rights, is familiar with the requirements of institutional donors, and is eager to play a key role in a new phase of community forest expansion.

The Centre for Ageing Better is looking for a talented Deputy Director to lead on work, retirement and transitions. About the Role:
As the Foundation starts supporting its third cohort of Scholars, we need an organised, communications focused and proactive individual to grow our capacity in two significant areas of our work: our regular in-person events, and our recruitment and assessment process.
You will take the lead on, and quality assure, all Martingale events including our Welcome Dinner for new Scholars at the Royal Society, autumn assessment centres, regular training days for Masters and PhD students, our week-long summer residential retreats for Scholars, as well as events for current and potential funders and other stakeholders. You will also help secure high-profile speakers from relevant industries. While these events will be delivered in collaboration with other members of the team, you will bring your event management expertise to drive forward planning and delivery, and ensure these events are of the highest standards for Scholars and stakeholders.
You will also play a vital role in Martingale’s recruitment and admissions work. You will be line-managed by the Communications Manager and will support in the dissemination of Martingale recruitment materials to relevant universities, student societies, charities and learned societies, to ensure a high number of applications to the Martingale Scholarship programme. You will also work closely with the Programme Manager and Programme Officer to deliver well-run assessment centres and programme events across England and Scotland. You will also support the Communications Manager through producing high-quality content relating to Martingale events, to be distributed through our social media channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Event management
- Research and secure high-quality external venues for Martingale events, and work effectively with teams at those venues to ensure events are delivered within budget and to a high standard
- Liaise closely with colleagues on event purpose, scope, and intended outcomes, and plan effectively using Martingale’s CRM and other project management tools as necessary
- Be the key point of contact for all events, including briefing colleagues and externals to ensure roles and responsibilities are clear
- Where necessary, work with the Team Administrator to ensure travel and accommodation is booked for staff, Scholars, and stakeholders
- Research and recommend high-profile speakers for Martingale events, acting as key contact for all speakers and trainers for events
- Conduct evaluation including post event debriefs and appropriate communication materials
- Lead on event wrap-up and embed learnings into future event planning
Recruitment and assessment
- Grow partnerships with relevant contacts to support our recruitment, including researching and connecting with appropriate organisations who are mission aligned or may have suitable alumni for Martingale Scholarships
- Disseminate materials on Martingale’s Scholarships to appropriate external stakeholders
- Help manage enquiries sent through to our social media platforms
- Work closely with the Programmes Team to book venues for Assessment Centres, and support with all logistics including schedules for assessors and candidates, ensuring a positive first impression of the Foundation for potential future Scholars
Communications
- Deliver effective communication in line with organisational strategy
- Create high-quality content on Martingale events for dissemination through our social media channels, website and newsletter
- Manage Martingale’s collaboration with community engagement partners: Axiom Maths, In2Science, and The Brilliant Club
General
- As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the post holder.

Role Summary
An exciting opportunity to join Into Film and lead on the production of all audio-visual content for the UK’s foremost film education charity. Overseeing an in-house production team of six, the Production Lead will work closely with colleagues from across the organisation to identify, develop and deliver an exciting and wide range of content for classroom resources, social media channels and the Into Film website.
The role is initially available for a fixed term through to 31st March 2026, but may become permanent pending continuation of funding.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Joint Heads of Programme and Head of Marcomms to identify audio visual requirements in support of the Into Film strategy, including income generation.
- Lead on planning and allocation of work for a team of six, supporting on and leading projects as required.
- Oversee departmental production budget, and budget from commissioning departments, ensuring that expenditure is planned, tracked and evaluated.
- Plan for and manage freelancers in support of production activity as required.
- Manage Production Team, identifying where support, training and development are required to ensure a flexible approach to producing a diverse range of audio-visual content.
- Ensure that statutory regulations in the provision of film and media content are complied with (safeguarding and child protection, GDPR etc.).
- Ensure that all audio-visual content is legally compliant and rights are cleared for use on specified channels.
- Oversee production on key projects including the Into Film Festival and the Into Film Awards.
- Ensure that Into Film audio-visual content reflects the diversity of its audiences, including teachers, young people and children from under-represented backgrounds and communities.

Person Specification:
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of two years’ experience of team management in a fast-moving production environment.
- Experience of audio-visual content production and post-production, including for social media.
- Extensive experience of working successfully and collaboratively with senior colleagues from across an organisation to plan and produce audio-visual content.
- Experience of managing individual project and departmental budgets.
- Good working knowledge of rights and compliance issues in relation to audio visual production.
- Confident, creative judgement, including experience of feeding back on briefs, scripts and edits, and taking responsibility for project sign-off and delivery.
Desirable:
- Experience of producing audio-visual content for an education and/or youth audience.
- Experience of editing audio-visual content using Premiere Pro.

Oasis Community Hub Hadley is looking for a project Administrator to maintain the smooth day-to-day running of the Oasis Youth Support project at North Middlesex University Hospital, a project supporting young people who have experienced violence which has had a negative impact on their mental wellbeing.
Duties Include;
1. Updating and maintaining the project’s database from local NHS systems.
2. Identifying young people eligible for the service by screening referrals or trawling the hospital system and ensuring these are collated on the project database to be contacted by the youth workers.
3. Quality assure the data being recorded on the EVIDE system.
4. Preparing regular reports as required by the projects funders or other stakeholders.
You could be successful in this role if you:
· Have a relevant experience with administration, including using excel, word and other Microsoft systems.
· Have an eye for detail and accuracy.
· Possess excellent oral/written communication and organisational skills.
· Are self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work to deadlines.

Details of Job
The Events and Communications Officer will work across the team to plan, produce and deliver a calendar of in-person and on-line events. They will also communicate our work to external audiences to drive the participation of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in our programmes and attract potential funding from corporates, grant-makers, and government bodies.
The post holder will work with the programme team to manage a calendar of online and in-person events and oversee the event process from beginning to end. The post holder will manage ticketing platforms, oversee event budgets and logistics and create event briefings to ensure alignment between external speakers and team members. This will include overseeing the set-up of IT and technology to ensure smooth event delivery and acting as a main contact point for external event partners. After events, the post holder will manage communications with external partners and audiences, log their participation in the CRM system and produce timely reports on event outcomes for the programme team contributing to evaluation and learning cycles.
The post holder will also work with the Director and programme team to deliver the charity’s marketing and communications plan. They will maintain and grow our brand identity and tone of voice by using social media platforms, paid advertising campaigns and creating original content for our website to share our impact, drive participation and grow our partnerships. Your purpose

Your responsibilities

Location: Remote with a focus on the East Midlands & East of England.
This role requires regular travel to London, occasional within the region & nationally. This includes visiting schools, attending development days, meetings, and industry events. Some overnight stays will be required.
Ideal Candidate: We are seeking a candidate specifically based in the East Midlands or East of England and with a strong understanding and experience of the educational landscape and the challenges facing schools in these areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Fund as we expand the UK Portfolio to meet our ambitions in delivering the strategy. We're looking for two people to join the UK Portfolio Team as Heads of Funding, leading a team of just under 40.
The UK Portfolio supports the ambitions and potential of communities across the UK.We focus on scaling projects with a UK-wide benefit, through significant investments, which enable systems-level change for communities. Our funding is intended to complement the work of other country portfolios: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
As one of four Heads of Funding in UK Portfolio you will oversee all aspects of our work and ensure the team is resourced and able to deliver operationally. Heads of Funding are responsible for ensuring our programmes are designed and delivered to the scope, standard and deadlines required and will lead on specific strategic areas and relationships inside and outside the Fund. Heads of Funding are responsible for ensuring an understanding of the external policy, practice and funding context from across the UK is reflected in our delivery. You will provide leadership for the team, supporting the work of the Portfolio Managers.
We are currently evolving our UK Portfolio funding offers and programmes in response to the strategy, developing a partnerships offer, and how we are more than a funder through our support to communities across the UK.
All Heads of will lead on a combination of strategic and operational priorities and the roles will involve a variety of responsibilities including:
- Overseeing up to £50m of grant commitments each year ensuring compliance with our operational and governance policies and requirements
- Lead one of the community-led missions in relation to the UK Portfolio’s funding offer
- Lead the strategic development and direction of a combination of our funding programmes and partnership approach
- Responsible for stakeholder management, both internally and externally
- Ensure learning and impact of our work is shared appropriately and informs our practice
- Lead engagement with our decision making Panels, Committees and Board
- Team leadership including culture, resource planning and team development
- Fund wide leadership either relating to one of the missions or as part of cross Fund priorities
You will need to work closely with the other Heads of Funding and each day will be a blend of operational and strategic work, stakeholder engagement, team leadership with lots of opportunities to collaborate with others across the Fund.
We are looking for ambitious, creative and passionate people with experience of the funding environment and brokering partnerships. Excellent leadership and collaboration skills will be essential in building relationships at all levels, from senior management to external stakeholders and funding colleagues across the Fund. You’ll have a keen understanding of the nuances of working within a public body, and a deep commitment to ensuring we are delivering impact through our current funding portfolio whilst also looking to the future and developing new funding initiatives and ways of working to meet our 2030 vision.
