About this job

In this role, you'll oversee the delivery of our marketing strategy and insight-led approach to product development for our community and events fundraising team. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to reach, engage, and build meaningful long-term relationships with our supporters. You'll champion an insight-driven and engagement-first approach to marketing and product development, with our audiences at its core.

You'll innovate and test new marketing channels, products, and approaches. You'll stay up-to-date with the latest marketing and sector trends and identify opportunities to ensure we can proactively respond to an evolving external environment.

A key part of your role will be to lead our team of supporter-facing Fundraising Executives and ensure they provide consistent and exceptional supporter stewardship to our incredible fundraisers.

Our role is to deliver engaging, high quality and innovative fundraising to our amazing supporters and provide an attractive, inclusive programme of events and activities throughout the year.

This Grants Officer role is available on a permanent contract and full-time basis (35 hours a week). This is a hybrid role, where the foundation would like the postholder to attend the Isle of Dogs office two days a week in East London, with Wednesday being a core office day. The salary banding for this role is £28,000-£32,000 (dependent on level of experience).
 
In this role, you will report to the Head of Grants and Programmes and support the development, management, and promotion of the foundation's grants programmes. You will manage a portfolio of grants, provide guidance to applicants and grantees, assess grant applications, and conduct due diligence to inform funding recommendations.
 
You will monitor funded projects, ensure timely reporting and validate project delivery. You will maintain accurate records on Salesforce. You will support donor engagement, ensure reporting aligns with CSR goals, review end-of-grant reports, and contribute to annual programme reporting. You will help deliver funding workshops and community events. You will assist with developing systems, policies, and communication tools for grant making. To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge or experience of delivering a grants programme or working in a fundraising environment. You will have a strong eye for detail and experience gathering, recording information, and presenting to audiences.
 
You will be a strong communicator, who can develop relationships with people from different backgrounds and lived experiences. You will be able to work on your own initiative and within a small team. You will have excellent IT literacy and administrative skills.

About the Role

Sense is recruiting for a Supporter Services Assistant to join our fantastic Engagement Team in Kings Cross, London on a hybrid basis.  

The successful applicant will play vital part in the Engagement Department and the charity as a whole – it makes sure that supporters have an outstanding experience of supporting Sense and know how much they are valued. Your daily task’s are varied with a mixture of in-and-outbound calling, combined with essential administrative tasks like income processing or capturing important information about Sense’s supporters and their motivations to support the charity.  

The main duties and responsibilities include:

• Accurately processing fundraising income, including cheques and cash, vouchers (CAF, KKL) direct debits, payroll giving and from online donation platforms (Just Giving, Virgin Money Giving, Facebook) within agreed timescales and in line with provided procedures.
• Create or amend supporter records on Sense’s Raisers Edge database, ensuring that all interactions between charity and supporter etc are recorded accurately and in line with best practice GDPR.
• Identifying opportunities for supporters to further engage with Sense and promoting them as appropriate to help deliver Fundraising department targets (such as sharing a supporter story with our Comms team).
• Work with other fundraising teams to ensure relationships with supporters are managed effectively, both by responding to enquiries promptly and by working to the agreed supporter communications plan. There is also the expectation to attend other teams’ meetings i.e. Community, Events, Philanthropy to understand what activity is happening across the charity. 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience of working in a customer or supporter service environment
• Administrative experience in a busy office environment
• Experience of using Raiser’s Edge or similar Customer Relationship Management database
• Outstanding customer service, an excellent telephone manner and ability to understand team needs to prioritise workloads effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when entering data.
• Good working knowledge of MS office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Job Description Summary

The Funding and Development  Manager plays a key role at DPI, working to ensure that income meets the organisation’s needs, and in support of achieving the strategic objectives through the development and management of fundraising and donor relations.

The Funding and Development Manager is responsible for identifying and pursuing diverse funding streams; writing applications, reporting back and progress letters to meet existing and future funders’ guidelines; monitoring the implementation of projects to ensure funders’ guidelines are met; and liaising with funders and other stakeholders.  The Funding and Development Manager works closely with the Finance Officer to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to donors.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Grants Administration

• Leads the development and delivery of short, medium and long-term fundraising strategies for DPI
  • Identifies and nurtures the successful implementation of appropriate grant funding and contracting
  • Researches and assesses DPI’s eligibility in line with DPI strategy and donor criteria
  • Produces and submits grants proposals, expressions of interest and donor reports
  • Oversees compliance with funding requirement to ensure that deadlines and criteria for donor reporting are met, including financial reporting in close collaboration with the Finance Manager

Donor Relations

• Manages and develops external relationships as a representative of DPI, attending meetings and public events where necessary

  • Establishes close working relationships and develop efficient systems with key individuals in the programmes, research and finance functions, to access knowledge and information needed for funding propositions and reporting
  • Maintains close collaboration with DPI staff to ensure sound project management, including by ensuring regular M&E meetings with programmes team are conducted to ensure that donor requirements and output standards are met

Financial Management

• Helps to develop and implement the organisation’s financial planning, budgeting and reporting processes along with the Finance Manager and the CEO
  • Collaborates with Programmes Officers with regards to the allocation of expenditure across budget lines and donors, to ensure compliance with grant contracts.
  • Assists the Finance Manager in their work on audit preparations of accounts at the end of the financial year, and ensures the timely drafting of the Trustee report

Key Responsibilities

• General office coordination and administration.

• Assisting with finance processes and using systems (Xero).

Your role will also be responsible for ensuring that we operate within UK legal & regulatory frameworks and stay up to date with changes in relevant legislation. This will sometimes include an international scope as EarthPercent operates in other territories too. 

About the National Pro Bono Centre:

The National Pro Bono Centre brings together charities dedicated to providing pro bono legal services and improving access to justice. We serve as a central resource for charities who help people seeking free legal advice and representation. Our work fosters collaboration, coordination, and improved service delivery among stakeholders in the pro bono sector. Through our work, the Centre supports the wide range of pro bono projects and brokerage which charities provide; helping individuals and communities all over England and Wales get access to justice.

The role:

To build on our achievements, we are looking for someone to lead on strategy, to promote collaboration and coordination across the sector, to maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders, and to oversee and lead on the growth and development of our portfolio of projects and activities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic leadership – Continuing to develop NPBC’s strategy in accordance with the vision, mission, strategic priorities, and values of the charity, working together with the Board of Trustees, staff, and our key stakeholders.
• Operational management - Ensuring that the organisation is run efficiently, with robust financial controls.  Managing the small team (3 permanent employees and 3 contractors).  Working with the team on projects and events management.
• Fundraising – Leading on fundraising and building and developing the relationship between NPBC and existing sponsors, as well as seeking out and building relationships with new and potential sponsors.
• Communications - Representing the NPBC in the promotion of its mission, vision and aims externally.
• Governance - Ensuring that the charity is well administered and working with the Board of Trustees to meet its legal, statutory, and regulatory responsibilities.

About you:

We are looking for a strategic planner with a proven record of leading teams or organisations to deliver high quality results.  You will need to be able to demonstrate a strong track record of fundraising through commercial sponsorship and developing lasting relationships with key stakeholder partners to achieve this.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and articulate a clear vision.
• Leadership style, which encourages, motivates, inspires and develops staff.
• Excellent communicator (both orally and in writing) with effective listening, influencing and negotiation skills.

As Marketing Executive - Supporter Journeys, you will be responsible for the delivery of supporter journey activity, planning and executing individual and church supporter journey activities across various channels, including direct mail, telephone, and digital.

• Delivering marketing/supporter engagement campaigns across multiple channels including direct mail, email and telephone.
• Knowledge of CRM systems and how to use data to design and monitor performance
• Project managing efficiently and communicating clearly with multiple stakeholders

Hybrid working: This role is eligible for hybrid working and you will be required to work from  Teddington's Tearfund office and from your home by agreement with the line manager. This currently means around 2 days per month working from the Teddington office, with the rest worked from home.

You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. You will work towards ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.

This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. You will work collaboratively with your team and will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression.
