This role can be full time, part time (3-4dpw), and has the opportunity to potentially go permanent too, so an excellent opportunity in todays environment. The organisation is asking for an office based term, but there may be some flexibility for some time at home. 

As the Development Officer, you will review and manage the cultivation and stewardship of individual supporters, including the administration of donor records, communications, events, and gift/grant administration and reporting. You will also expand the prospect pipeline, and prepare for growth in both capital and revenue fundraising. This will include the support of the charity's fundraising efforts and public engagement activities, research potential sources of supporters, including from Trusts, Foundations, donors and stakeholders.

Regional Net Zero Carbon Fundraising Officer

Are you an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of stakeholder engagement and experience of coordinating and developing large-scale funding proposals? Do you have a passion for the environment and reducing carbon emissions? If so, read on.

The Church of England’s Net Zero Carbon (NZC) programme has been established to help the Church deliver its commitment to reaching its NZC goals. It aims to equip, resource and support all parts of the Church to reduce carbon emissions from the energy used in its buildings, schools and through work-related transport.

All parts of the Church will need to raise funds to implement this Net Zero plan. To this end, the Dioceses of Chelmsford, Ely, Norwich, St Albans and St Edmundsbury and Ipswich are collaborating on the shared ambition to achieve NZC across our diocesan estates and are looking to appoint a Fundraising Officer to work across the region to identify funding opportunities and secure funding towards delivering net carbon zero projects.

This is a new role and, as such, offers an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to make their mark. You will develop and maintain relationships with a range of potential funders and internal and external stakeholders across the region. You’ll need drive, initiative, resilience and the ability to shape an approach to NZC fundraising across the region. Above all, you’ll need to be an excellent communicator and relationship builder with a proven ability to adapt your approach as appropriate, be this creating links with the national NZC Team, influencing and securing funding from grant-making bodies, or delivering training and advice on securing funding locally. Given the scope and nature of the role you’ll also need to be highly organised, flexible and sympathetic to the ethos of the Church of England.

We recognise that this is a specialised role, and training and support will be available for the post-holder both locally and from the national Church of England NZ Fundraising team.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are also required. The role will be home-based and can be anywhere within the region, with regular travel across the region required. The role will be employed by the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich so line management meetings will be in Ipswich.

Role purpose 

We are seeking an organised, data-driven, and creative Senior Individual Giving Officer to support the delivery of high-quality fundraising campaigns that inspire new and existing supporters to give. You will play a key role in developing excellent supporter and stewardship journeys that encourage repeat gifts and maximise supporter lifetime value.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging direct marketing campaigns across print, digital and email channels, with a particular focus on one-off appeals, regular donations, and incentivised giving products.

Key tasks and responsibilities  

Campaign development and delivery 

• Work with the Campaigns & Marketing Manager to plan and deliver a calendar of direct marketing campaigns across print, email, and digital, focused on income generation and donor retention. 

• Work with the Marketing and Communications Officer to develop compelling, supporter-centred fundraising copy for appeals, donation forms, landing pages, emails, and stewardship content. 

• Coordinate campaign production, from creative briefing to print and fulfilment, working with suppliers, designers, and mailing house partners as needed. 

• Lead on campaign timelines and ensure activity is delivered on time and within budget. 

• Work with colleagues across the charity to gather impactful case studies and project updates for use in donor communications. 

• Manage and maintain campaign collateral such as templates, thank-you letters, and welcome packs, ensuring brand and message consistency. 

Supporter journeys & stewardship 

• Develop and implement supporter journeys for new and existing individual givers, ensuring timely and relevant follow-ups to donations. 

• Identify opportunities to improve retention and upgrade rates through targeted communications and segmentation.

• Ensure all donor touchpoints (e.g. donation forms, thank-you pages, emails) provide an excellent experience. 

• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Operation teams to ensure donor communications align with wider charity messaging.

We’re looking for a Trusts Officer to join our dynamic Fundraising Team to contribute towards securing vital income from charitable trusts and foundations across the UK.

Working closely with the Trusts Manager, you’ll develop and submit compelling funding proposals, build strong relationships with new and existing supporters and ensure the highest standards of donor care. This Grants Officer role is available on a permanent contract and full-time basis (35 hours a week). In this role, you will report to the Head of Grants and Programmes and support the development, management, and promotion of the foundation's grants programmes. You will monitor funded projects, ensure timely reporting and validate project delivery. You will maintain accurate records on Salesforce. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of the grant making process. You could be a trust and foundations fundraiser wanting to make the transition to grants officer, or a grants administrator or officer seeking to progress further in your career. While training and support will be provided you must understand what makes a good funding application, and an ability to critically review proposals, in order to make appropriate recommendations.

The role will oversee grant and contract management with existing organisational and institutional partnerships, as well as grow this portfolio through developing a robust pipeline of new opportunities, finding creative ways to secure visibility and first meetings, developing relationships, compelling funding applications and ensuring strong contract management oversight.

The role will lead a team of two, work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues based in the US and UK to secure visibility with and develop strong long-term partnerships with new Trusts and Foundations; and work closely with colleagues in Kenya to ensure strong project delivery and grant management. • Lead the implementation of the Trusts & Foundations (T&Fs) programme with a particular focus on growing the portfolio of large T&Fs in the USA, UK and European markets;

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Work with the Board of Trustees to set and deliver the charity’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities.
• Provide clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations to the Board, ensuring effective governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Position the charity as a recognised leader in tackling inequality and poverty in the borough, particularly the North Kensington area.
• Maintain financial oversight taking a strategic approach to managing Dalgarno Trust’s finances in a sustainable way – ensuring adequate reserves are maintained.
• Ensure effective short, medium, and long-term financial planning is in place throughout the different levels of the organisation. Provide effective scrutiny by working with Dalgarno Trust’s accountants and finance personnel.

Income Generation & Fundraising

• Lead a sustainable income generation strategy, including accessing trust and foundation fundraising, corporate sponsorships, statutory grants, and social enterprise opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with funders and donors to maximise opportunities for growth and diversification of income.
• Ensure effective financial management, monitoring, and reporting of a c.£750k annual budget.

Partnerships & Place-Leadership

• Develop and maintain partnerships with voluntary, public, and private sector organisations to aid joint delivery of services.
• Represent the Dalgarno Trust in local strategic forums, influencing public policy and service design to reflect community needs.
• Strengthen the charity’s role as an anchor organisation and hub for community activity and leadership.
