At Bookmark Reading Charity, we exist to change children’s life stories through the joy of reading. We are recruiting a Fundraising Research and Administration Intern who will join the charity for six months and play an important role in providing valuable insight to teams across the charity, with a particular focus on supporting the Fundraising team. You will be responsible for research and analysis into potential donors, along with providing administrative support with donor communications, campaigns and database management. This role is an opportunity to gain fundraising experience in a growing organisation and develop a variety of transferable skills in a charity setting. 

Job Description

• Lead on prospect research to build our pipeline of prospect funders across corporates, foundations and individuals
• Identify new organisations and philanthropists who could be supporters of Bookmark
• Support with delivering an effective impact reporting programme by creating termly update reports, case studies and mass mailings
• Work with the Schools team to organise donor visits at our partner schools
• Complete online enquiry forms for prospective Trusts and Foundations 
• Work with the Impact Team to ensure that key impact statements and statistics are shared with the Fundraising team to support exceptional proposals
• Support the co-ordination and delivery of events
• Collate, input and maintain accurate information on databases, including our customer relationship management (CRM) system and SharePoint
• Ensure that all activity helps to build Bookmark’s brand and is always brand compliant

The Major Gifts Stewardship Assistant is responsible for an existing portfolio of approximately 150+ individual, trust, and corporate donor relationships. Main responsibilities include:

· Maintaining the current portfolio of donors.

· Uplifting donors to give at higher levels, where possible.

· Supporting the trusts and foundations of new business processes through research and outreach.

Job Purpose:

The Role

As the Legacies Manager, you will assume a pivotal role within our dynamic Partnership and Development team. • Provide excellent stewardship to all supporters who engage with legacies, working with stakeholders to ensure journeys are insight-led, respond to audience needs, and are well documented and reported upon.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of legacy giving initiatives and regularly report on progress to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and continuously improve strategies for maximising legacy support.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the end-to-end process for delivering the legacies plan is designed and documented. This includes solving problems in circumstances where there is minimal guidance available from established practices and precedents within the organisation.
• Work closely with the Head of Relationship Fundraising and other fundraising colleagues to ensure that all fundraising activities are well-coordinated and contribute towards the overall fundraising strategy.

• Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to raise awareness of legacy giving opportunities within the organisation. Key duties and responsibilities

What does all of this look like day-to-day?

You'll be responsible for planning, implementing and managing the innovation strategy across all income streams within Mind's Fundraising Income directorate including:

-Managing the operational delivery of new product development and adaptation of existing products with a focus on continuous improvement

-Working with teams and product owners to upskill and embed innovation ways of working across all teams in the directorate, with clear roles and responsibilities

-Identify opportunities for income growth, contributing to key cross-org projects that have the potential to impact on, and improve fundraising

We are building the tools, vision, and expertise to drive philanthropic income at Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Senior Philanthropy Manager is a key role in helping us deliver on our mission to double survival rates of pancreatic cancer by growing major donor income.

This role is responsible for delivering on three key areas of the major donor programme:

-Managing and growing a portfolio of major donor and high value supporters. Specifically focusing on encouraging and making the ask for long-term, multi-year 5-6 figure gifts.

-Driving major donor new business activity to build a sustainable pipeline using internal data analysis tools alongside network mapping exercises.

-Working collaboratively across the team to provide tailored stewardship journeys and experiences which build meaningful relationships with our closest supporters and demonstrate the impact of their support on our mission.

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to lead on Media Trust’s 2024 calendar of fundraising and industry-facing events, including our upcoming 30th Birthday Fundraising Gala and support with other programme-related events.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise in delivering successful fundraising and other events, working across multiple projects, and finding new and innovative ways to engage corporate supporters in fundraising events and campaigns. 

You will be part of the Volunteering & Events Management team and will manage a range of in person and virtual events, from fundraising events to corporate partner cultivation drinks, industry roundtables and large-scale volunteering initiatives. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver impactful high-quality events and ensure that all our events deliver against set targets.

This role would suit someone with a good understanding and experience of the UK charity sector and a passion for equalities and inclusion. We are looking for a strong candidate to take Media Trust’s event activity and fundraising to the next level to enable us to support more charities and underrepresented talent and engage more media and creative industry professionals in our work. 

Key responsibilities  

Events Management 

• Manage end-to-end delivery of Media Trust events, campaigns and projects of varying size, format and complexity, both in person and virtually

• Lead on the development and running of Media Trust’s 30th Birthday celebratory events, including but not limited to our Fundraising Gala, ensuring the fundraising target is hit or exceeded 

• Support the Programmes team and Media Trust Films team on delivery of events when necessary, including, but not limited to, Charity Challenge Days and Film Screenings 

• Provide a high standard of support to key stakeholders throughout the planning, execution and evaluation of each event 

• Develop and implement consistent processes, procedures and documentation for all events across Media Trust, including event timelines, agendas, speaker and staff briefs 

• Develop fundraising and sponsorship proposals to fund core events across Media Trust  

• Manage event budgets ensuring they are run cost effectively

• Maximise the profitability (where appropriate), sustainability and quality of all events 

• Act as first point of contact for stakeholders including corporate partners, venues, caterers, speakers, attendees, Media Trust staff and Trustees 

• Research and suggest relevant key speakers and work with all Media Trust teams to finalise speakers for events

• Work closely with the Marketing team to develop communications to promote events and drive engagement 

• Monitor KPIs and evaluate the impact of events, providing reports and feedback summaries as required 

• Ensure all Media Trust events and fundraising activities are logged effectively and Media Trust’s CRM is kept up-to-date 

Corporate Partner Activity 

• Liaise with our Corporate Partners and lead on bespoke events organised as part of their partnership with Media Trust

• Work closely with the Partnerships team to develop and deliver volunteer opportunities, recruiting, briefing and training volunteers including presentations and pitches  

• Work with other members of the Volunteering & Events Management team to support with other volunteering activity including development of innovative events and opportunities

Additional Responsibilities  

• Continual research and ideation, monitoring industry trends for new and exciting fundraising and profile-raising opportunities and partnership collaborations

• Provide additional support to the Partnerships team as required

What we are looking for in you 

Essential 

• Experience of end-to-end event management, including the planning of fundraising events, and delivering high-impact results in a professional or charitable organisation

• Experience of organising both online and in person events

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage and prioritise across multiple events, work with multiple teams and meet deadlines 

• Experience of working with Corporate Partners and managing stakeholder relationships at both a strategic and project level 

• Outstanding communication skills and ability to adapt tone and approach for different stakeholders 

• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage external stakeholders and suppliers, paid and unpaid, ensuring high quality of work and events run smoothly

This role will be responsible for researching and applying to small Trusts and managing an existing portfolio (up to 10K) alongside supporting larger grant applications where required. You will create and maintain a prospect list, apply for relevant opportunities and effectively steward existing funders, preparing reports and updates ensuring they meet donor guidelines. Furthermore you will support the migration of our CRM from Raisers Edge to Microsoft Dynamics.

The person

You will have Trust fundraising experience with excellent research and writing skills with ability to identify new Trusts to apply to, prepare accurate and compelling donor reports and case studies and be confident in approaching donors and promoting the work of Whizz-Kidz.  You will have strong donor stewardship skills with ability to tailor approaches to the needs of the donor. You will also have strong time management skills with ability to manage and prioritise your workload and ideally experience of using a CRM for Trust Fundraising.

Comic Relief’s fundraising and public engagement is delivered primarily through it’s digital channels, and in this role you will lead the digital fundraising team and cross-organisational project teams in driving high performance across these channels, including web UX journey and optimisation, email communications and paid media campaigns to facilitate the delivery of over £18M income across Fundraising.

Key responsibilities:

· Lead the strategy setting and annual planning and budget setting for Comic Relief’s Digital Marketing & Fundraising, including building financial models, developing business cases, monitoring budgets and updating forecasts

· Manage and coach a team of digital fundraisers to execute fundraising, (acquisition and engagement), activity across our key digital channels to deliver against agreed plans and objectives across the entire Fundraising team, specifically focussed on the UK public audience: individuals and communities of individuals, including schools and workplaces

· Foster a culture of high performance and build organisational expertise through a test, learn and iterate approach where data, learning and insight is used to make informed decisions and actioned swiftly. Ensure knowledge is systematised and shared across the organisation for maximum impact

· Working as a lead within the Public Activation & Individual Giving team, work with the team and wider colleagues to ensure all digital communications our audiences receive and the digital experience they have, is appropriately targeted, designed and delivered in a way to maximise engagement and life time value

· Operate as a champion of digital innovation within the wider Fundraising team and organisation, proactively identifying, sourcing and helping to embed new technologies, ways of working and tools and approaches that drive digital marketing/fundraising performance and income generation. Where necessary, bring x-organisational project teams together to deliver digital marketing / fundraising change projects.

· Lead the management and performance management of our media agency to develop a digital media strategy that delivers against agreed KPI’s, working closely with the Paid Media Manager to continuously optimise and evaluate performance across the full suite of campaigns and always on activity plan

· Oversee the email marketing strategy, including oversight of critical email marketing tools and platforms, ensuring the effective management of audiences and messages, closely with the Senior Digital Fundraiser and Email Marketing Executive to continuously optimise and evaluate performance across the full suite of communications

· Play a lead role in working with stakeholders across the organisation to unify separate digital marketing activity (owned and earned) to ensure all Comic Relief efforts are working together to maximise effectiveness and efficiency

· Play a lead role in working with colleagues managing Comic Relief’s website and associated platforms to ensure they are optimised for User Experience and conversion to action across all agreed initiatives and activities

· Provide specific leadership in bringing the Fundraising, Technology and Data teams together to ensure our Digital Marketing and Fundraising strategies and plans are aligned with data and tech capabilities and priorities and oversee direct interventions to solve problems and mitigate risks to delivery and performance

Operate as primary point of contact with BBC Marketing specifically in relation to digital marketing strategies, including development of Red Nose Day web pages, supplying content and performance tracking

People Management

· Provide balanced, constructive feedback, undertake effective performance management to embed accountability and proactively support the professional development and growth of staff

· Proactively undertake business planning, prioritise activities and set clear and realistic objectives for the team and individuals based on capacity, expertise, and aspirations

· Maintain regular two-way communication and dialogue with staff, ensuring information is cascaded and escalated as needed

Essential criteria

· Extensive experience of creating, implementing and optimising digital strategies and user journeys for the purposes of a sales or fundraising outcome

· Experience of delivering digital marketing activity or projects for a high-profile brand

· Experience of leading and working effectively in cross-functional digital project teams to deliver shared goals and objectives

· Proven experience of digital channel planning and performance tracking

· Experience of leading and working with a matrix of channel experts and multi-disciplined stakeholders

· Experience of budget management including setting detailed, annual and campaign planning budgets and strategies

· Analytical thinker with great communication skills that engage and inspire

· Management experience – managing and motivating a team effectively to achieve high quality outcomes

Desirable criteria

· Experience of working with CRM & associated systems to facilitate relational fundraising

· Specific experience working closely with Technology and Data teams in innovating and optimising conversion journeys, innovation and production development

This is an exciting opportunity to join the myaware team as a full-time Events Fundraiser to manage, develop and deliver myaware events and support our in aid of fundraisers.

The role

As Events Fundraiser you will manage and develop myaware’s events portfolio and support in aid of fundraisers. You will also be responsible for managing fundraising volunteers and volunteer fundraising groups. The purpose of the role is to build long-lasting partnerships with supporters and volunteers to achieve maximum events fundraising income for myaware. There will be a requirement to manage records and relationships through the CRM system in line with GDPR.

The Events Fundraiser will be home based within the UK and will work in co-operation with all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising and awareness campaigns. Own transport is essential for this role as occasional travel throughout the UK will be required. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required.

 Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year experience gained in a fundraising role within a charity, with demonstrable experience of income growth and the ability to meet and exceed income targets. Experience of working with and managing volunteers is essential.

We are a looking for an innovative self-starter to join our small national team of 16 staff. You must be well organised and efficient, with IT skills and experience of using a work-related database or CRM system. Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our specialist benefits and welfare advisor. 

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.
