An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Medair UK team as we are seeking a part-time Operations Support Officer. The post holder will be responsible for Medair UK’s financial and office administration, including maintenance of the organisation’s CRM database and some fundraising support. You will ensure the accurate processing and timely delivery of donor and financial information and acting as first point of contact for the organisation, you will be responding to supporter enquiries. You will also provide general office, and IT support to the Head of Operations.

About you
You will have experience of working in an office administration role, including financial processing and have proven experience with databases. You will be comfortable working with and prioritising high volumes of work. In addition to your experience of completing routine, complex tasks accurately and systematically, you will be able to maintain quality and attention to detail. Confident, polite and professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, you will have strong planning and organisational skills, with experience of maintaining office and administrative systems
Key Activities
Donation Processing
- Responsible for the timely recording and processing of all incoming donations (including via our website, bank account, third party platforms and cheques) into the Medair UK CRM (Salesforce).
- Ensure all donors receive gift acknowledgements / thank you letters corresponding to each gift received.
- Maintain up-to-date records of donors, staff and other contacts in the Medair UK database.
- Process and record completed Gift Aid declarations and support in the regular reclaim of Gift Aid.
Financial Administration
- Inputting of all financial data (income and expenditure) into Quick Books.
- Preparing and following up suppliers invoices for payment.
- Processing expenses claims.
- Managing the banking of income and supporter cheques.
- Support the Head of Operations to implement the month and year end reconciliation process for both Salesforce and Quick Books.
Facilities & Office Management
- Act as first point of contact for the office and public enquiries, responding to incoming telephone calls and emails.
- Answer basic enquiries about Medair's work and distributing information to supporters and others as required.
- Manage and order office supplies, stationery and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment, administrating risk assessments, H&S and fire safety procedures.
Information Technology
- Ensuring the maintenance of the IT system and handling minor in-house IT technical issues for staff and volunteers.
- Liaising with the Global Support Office IT Helpdesk team to ensure the timely set up of IT for new staff and volunteers – i.e. setting up email addresses, and relevant permissions.
- Ensuring that IT permissions are current, and that these are amended as and when staff and volunteers leave.
- Assisting with continuous improvements in Medair UK’s use of IT.
Engagement Support
- Supporting fundraising activities with data segmentation and the production of standard and custom reports in Salesforce
- Supporting the production and automation of email newsletter and appeals via Campaign Monitor
- Setting up new Salesforce campaigns with tailored reports and dashboards to track donations.
- Producing digital surveys and web-forms as required.
- Providing support to Medair’s virtual events, including the technical administration of Zoom and pre and post event attendee administration.
HR Administration
- Organising and co-ordinating staff and volunteer inductions ensuring that the induction checklist is completed.
- Supporting the Head of Operations with team training and organisational learning and development opportunities.
Qualifications - DESIRABLE
- Vocational qualification in business or financial management / administration desirable
Languages
- Excellent English (spoken and written).

The Role

Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager the successful candidate will support in the delivery of the Individual Giving strategy, programme and associated campaigns. This role will work alongside the fundraising and marketing and communications teams, and engage with the wider organisation — including pilots and paramedics — to share the story of SCAA and ensure our supporters feel connected to our mission.
This is a full-time role based either in Perth, at Scone Airport, where SCAA headquarters are located, or at our Aberdeen base at Aberdeen Airport (if based in Aberdeen there will be the requirement for the successful candidate to attend our Perth base on an occasional basis). Role Overview
The Director of Development at the Foundling Museum will lead the Museum’s fundraising strategy, driving income generation to support its mission and programmes. This senior leadership role oversees all aspects of fundraising, including corporate sponsorship, individual giving, trusts and foundations, membership schemes, philanthropic campaigns and communications.
The Director of Development works closely with the Museum's Director (CEO & Artistic Director), Trustees and key stakeholders to cultivate relationships with high-value donors, build strategic partnerships and secure sustainable financial support. As part of the Senior Management Team, this new role will work in collaboration with the Director of Finance (PT) and Director of Commercial and Operations (FT).
Reporting directly to the Museum Director, the role involves managing a small development team (2FTE) and communications team, setting ambitious targets and achieving actual income goals, ensuring alignment with the Museum’s values and strategic priorities.
The Director of Development will play a critical role in shaping the Museum’s long-term financial resilience, leveraging the Museum’s reputation and impact to inspire and engage supporters from diverse sectors.
Key duties
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising, membership and partnership strategy to support the Museum’s short and long-term goals

Person Specification
Experience (required)
- Proven leadership, ideally at least 5 years, in a similar role where philanthropic and grant income is central to the success of the organisation
- Extensive experience of shaping and implementing fundraising strategies that have delivered a step change increase in actual income
- A substantial fundraising track record in securing income from diverse constituencies and across funding types, including personal experience in securing major gifts and managing teams to do the same
- A demonstrable history of innovation and entrepreneurial approaches to identifying income generation opportunities and pushing organisations forward to increase income
- Proven experience of nurturing long and short-term funding opportunities and being the key point of contact for both
- Significant team leadership experience of creating, leading, inspiring and motivating a high performing team and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders

Role Purpose Statement
The Senior Officer, Active Fellows plays a key role in delivering high-quality support to Cara Fellows. This includes leading casework, coordinating Cara’s mentoring scheme to support Fellows’ placements, and contributing to strategic improvements across the Fellowship Programme. The role combines direct support to Fellows, operational oversight and delivery of casework, and collaborative leadership to support Cara to uphold its mission.
Organisational Background
The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.
Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.

Key Responsibilities
Fellowships
Casework
· Manage a caseload of up to 50 Cara Fellows, providing tailored support.
· Maintain accurate and GDPR-compliant records of casework activity.
· Liaise with Fellows to coordinate support and escalate complex cases to the Team Leader as required.
· Monitor, research and update visa guidance to reflect changes in complex immigration regulation.
· Keep up to date with relevant information regarding immigration laws, e.g. visas, legal procedures, etc.
· Liaise with independent legal advisors where necessary.
Finance
· Work with colleagues in finance to ensure accurate and timely payments to Cara Fellows and non-Fellowship related payments.
· Promptly issue relevant invoices.
· Understand financial processes – on Salesforce and Pleo – and update systems appropriately.

Support Mechanisms
Mentoring Scheme
· Project Lead for the Cara Mentoring Scheme.

About the Role
The role of Database Officer sits in the Data, Evidence and Monitoring team, at the junction of frontline services, fundraising and the leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of In-Form, our case management system for frontline services. · Update and improve naming opportunities for major and principal gifts, named and endowed funds, larger legacies and blended gifts from HNW individuals
Strategic guidance and innovation
· Collaborate with DVP Development to recommend and implement effective points of contact with donors for the purposes of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of six-figure+ gifts
· Identify opportunities to present our work more effectively and enhance the donor experience
· Launch or relaunch giving societies – e.g., cumulative lifetime giving, high-end annual giving, legacy society – with an emphasis on philanthropy and engagement rather than perks and benefits
· Advise on ways to streamline and improve donor communications and engagement, e.g., by leveraging technology, balancing push / pull outreach, adjusting the mix of print / digital and other media
· Guide the larger Development team in positioning our programs to inspire greater philanthropic support
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Minimum 4-5 years of related experience in nonprofit stewardship, donor communications, fundraising, or related transferable experience
· Experience leading a team in a development setting, including direct supervision of colleagues in donor engagement and stewardship; and/or management of a stable of contractors and freelancers
· Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment and lead numerous functions and various projects simultaneously
· Exceptional written communication, relationship-building, project management and collaboration skills
· Intellectual curiosity
· Must be professional, highly organized, creative, efficient, and collaborative.
· Cultural competence: ability to work seamlessly with colleagues across four continents.
· Able to work successfully both individually and as part of a team.
· Must be flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities within a growing program
· Ability to travel regionally/internationally for trainings and team meetings
· A degree from a four-year college or university preferred
· Knowledge of Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook required; familiarity with Adobe, Canva or other graphic design / visual communications programs a plus

Our step-change in impact with children will be achieved by a step-change in our philanthropy & partnerships: as our new Senior Prospect Research Manager you'll take a crucial role in this transformation through strategic development and delivery of the full Philanthropy Programme prospect identification and pipeline management framework to enable high quality research, cultivation, stewardship of high value philanthropists and partners in support of TCS
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
-Extensive knowledge and understanding of Philanthropy audiences (particularly high net worth individuals and corporates) including motivations for giving and the principles of major gift fundraising to include identification, research, solicitation and stewardship
-Strong track record of successful performance as a prospect/fundraising researcher, including experience conducting due diligence within the not-for-profit sector
-Excellent written and presentation skills and confident ability to deliver verbal and written proposals up to CEO / Board level
-Excellent knowledge of legal, regulatory and ethical environment of philanthropy fundraising, including General Data Protection Regulation

We’re looking for a Science Communications Officer (Fixed term) to join our team
Salary: £35,000
Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid
Hours: Full time and fixed term for one year. 35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

This involves collaborating across the charity to ensure content is accurate and audience appropriate. You’ll also be interacting with everyone in the organisation to help them understand how cancer behaves and how our research is helping to find new cures.
