Age UK Wandsworth is a local, independent charity that works to promote the wellbeing of all older people in the London Borough of Wandsworth. Our Information and Advice Service aims to improve the quality of life of older people and their carers through the provision of independent advice and support.

Purpose of the role: 

· To lead and manage a team (staff and volunteers) to deliver an outstanding information and advice service to older Wandsworth residents and to retain our professional accreditations.

· To support older people with high levels of income deprivation and health inequality to successfully identify and access benefits, health and social care, and other services, such as scams awareness, as needed.

Harris hill is seeking a Partnership and Philanthropy Officer for up to 6 months, 22.5hpw, to support a charity in Bath, although ideally hybrid, will consider remote based.

The role is to be payrolled via the agency however, they are also considering freelancer who would like to bill them directly. The pay rate is £15.77ph plus holiday pay, or £20.86ph freelance.

Duties:

Main duties and responsibilities

Communications (30% of work)

• Write and publish short regular newsletters for GRP’s stakeholders, including portfolio donors, wealth adviser partners and donors to operating costs.
• Manage and publish weekly content for GRP’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn and Instagram.
• Manage and curate content for GRP website, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and maximising opportunities to attract new donors and supporters.
• Coordinate with GRP’s third-party web developer on website maintenance and regularly re-evaluate site structure/functions to maximise its efficacy and usability.

Event planning (30% of work)

• Lead coordinator for in-person and virtual events, in line with events strategy devised by Strategic Relationships Manager.
• Lead event promotion and liaise with venues, speakers, catering, attendees, videographer, graphic designer, etc to ensure events are well-attended and well-run.

Research (20% of work)

• Drive ad-hoc research projects to support GRP’s partnership-building, core fundraising and portfolio selection/assessment efforts.

• Identify and research high-quality trust and foundation leads in line with core fundraising strategy.

Animals Asia has spent over 25 years working to end cruelty and restore respect for animals across Asia. With teams in Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, the UK, and beyond, they combine advocacy, direct rescue, and sanctuary care to create systemic change. Their mission to end bear bile farming – arguably the world’s cruelest form of animal abuse – is almost complete. Their global fundraising and communications team is driven, well-structured, and rooted in the charity’s deeply held values. Income has been steadily rising since 2017 and they have the people, plans and investment to maintain this growth.

The Trusts and Foundations function has grown substantially since being unified globally in 2020. Income has more than doubled, donor relationships are well-managed, and new business is actively developed. With a 2024 target of $1.3m and strong pipeline visibility, this role focuses on securing and stewarding 5- and 6-figure multi-year partnerships, with particular scope for growth in the US and unrestricted giving.

The Philanthropy team is part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships department, whose primary goal is to engage high value supporters and fundraise for the Stop MS Appeal.

As Philanthropy Officer, you will work closely with the Philanthropy manager, raising income for the MS Society from philanthropy fundraising activities as per the agreed objectives and targets.

Role and Responsibilities 

We are looking to recruit an experienced, innovative senior legal manager to manage our international Governance & Accountability Programme. The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer (or international development professional with equivalent experience in rule of law /governance / NGO use of legal strategies), with deep enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge of how our partners could use the law to achieve anti-corruption reform. A more detailed explanation of our organisational and programme strategy is set out in our 2024-2026 Strategy.

Working as part of a small but dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to learn at close hand what it means to work for an international NGO focusing on how the law can be used to fight corruption and achieve environmental and economic justice. You will develop projects with a range of partners, including international agencies, NGOs, CSOs, governments and government bodies. • Develop and implement personalised stewardship plans for donors and legacy pledgers to provide regular updates that demonstrate their impact or help to build engagement ahead of a fundraising appeal.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to communicate with one-off donors about how they can set up a regular gift, and to regular givers about how they can increase their gift.
• Provide support on the production of fundraising appeals, identifying potential stories to use, writing briefs and liaising with suppliers, producing mailing lists and analysing results.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement marketing plans for challenge events, community, in memory and legacy fundraising, planning regular content throughout the year and identifying key times to promote specific activity.
• Look for opportunities to incorporate legacy messaging into other communications with donors, volunteers and older people.
• Support on the development of new KPI and reporting frameworks, and help to update results for post-campaign and ad-hoc data analysis projects.
• Keep up to date with developments in direct marketing and fundraising practise. Comply with the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice and charity/fundraising law at all times.

About the role

This role will support Kinship to operate as an effective charity by ensuring effective day-to-day operations and seamless delivery of the People function at the charity.

Role summary

The Hardman Trust supports people on long prison sentences to take their next steps in life. As the Programmes and office administrator your role is to help make this a reality through the day-to-day support of our work. You’ll help to ensure our programmes run smoothly, and that our employees have the administrative support they need to provide a quality service to people accessing our products and programmes.

Your role will primarily involve office tasks (post, inboxes, phone calls), as well as providing administration support with our core programmes grants, penfriends and London Support programme. This role is our only office-based role and you will share an office and oversee our office volunteers who are there 3-4 days a week. You will work closely with the broader remote team via online communications. This role may evolve over time, to reflect the changing needs of the charity,

With an enthusiasm for our mission, you will be well-organised, motivated and eager to support those we are here to serve. As the first point of contact for anyone calling or emailing the charity, you will be a responsive problem-solver with great communication skills.

Tasks & responsibilities

1. Office administration

• Oversee the post coming into the office and ensure it is responded to in a reasonable timescale, or forwarded to the relevant staff member. This will be post for our penfriends programme and post for the charity generally.  This may involve printing and scanning documents and registering and banking cheques at a nearby bank.

• Oversee the generic inbox for the charity, responding to queries about our work across all workstreams and forwarding these to the relevant staff member as required.

• Take responsibility for incoming telephone calls to the organisation, responding and taking messages as appropriate.

• Ensure the website is kept up to date with current charity information.

• Complete Safeguarding and Data Protection training to ensure prisoner phone calls, emails, letters and grant applications are dealt with sensitively, safely and appropriately.

• Be the employee office based presence, overseeing and supporting our volunteers with their tasks as required. 

• Support the finance director with any required adhoc tasks eg - phone contracts

2. Grant administration

• Work with the Programme and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that clear and accurate records are kept on our Salesforce database, concerning our grant programmes:

  • Upload grant applications to the salesforce database

  • Update service user records when a grant decision is made

  • Ensure accurate record keeping regarding types of grants made, and amounts issued, to enable the Programme Coordinator to run reports.

  • Chase people who have been awarded grants but have not claimed them yet

• Send letters to people who have been issued grants and those who have been turned down.

3. Programme administration

• Provide administrative support across all programmes to ensure the staff team have the support required to offer a quality service to people accessing our service. Our current programmes include the London Support Programme and our Penfriends programme. This could include:

• Sending welcome and information letters/ emails to prisoners that may be eligible for our programmes

• Supporting with data entry by transferring handwritten sign-up forms and casenotes into Salesforce.

• Purchasing items required for programme delivery, or for grant applicants. 

• Ensuring letters are sent between penfriends and volunteers. Reviewing these in line with our safety standards and flagging any queries with the programme coordinator.

• Supporting with the recruitment, onboarding and training of programme volunteers (e.g. booking training, tracking volunteer applications, updating the database).

4. Other

• Support with managing the office move

• Support with data collection, record keeping and reporting, as required by the Head of Service Delivery.

• Support with the planning, coordination and administrative tasks for organisational events, such as fundraising events, celebration events and volunteer training sessions.

• To support the wider team, providing holiday cover as required.

• Put the service user at the heart of what you do, act with the interests of our beneficiaries in mind.
