What the role involves
1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released. This will include running system training drop in sessions to assist with queries / hear feedback, and relaying information from these to the Information Governance and IT manager.
2. To support managing the case recording system help desk – so that support is always ava
ilable to front line workers and other stakeholders.
3. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to establish an evaluation method and implement this to enable us to assess the effectiveness of each training session and using this to improve future delivery.
4. Produce effective training materials and guidance documents, and develop and maintain a training area on our case recording system, including the creation of dummy forms and files for new users to access and use as a training sandbox
5. Performing case recording system changes to forms and lists as directed by the Information Governance and IT Lead
6. Support the Data Reporting and System Support Lead with regards to user administration and user support at times of absence and increased need
7. Working with the Learning and Development Coordinator to support the creation of e-learning training modules for our LMS (currently RISE) Acting at all times in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance in addition to Safer London’s practice guidelines and wider pan-London processes and protocols.
8. Undertaking any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post, including covering the Data Reporting and CRS support lead post functions when relevant.

Who are Spinal Research?
We are Spinal Research, the UK's leading medical charity focused on the repair and restoration of the spinal cord. Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. It can happen to anyone at any time, changing lives instantly. We fund groundbreaking research that will cure paralysis, ensuring people living with spinal cord injuries will get life-changing treatments.
The Role:
The Data Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end processing of all supporter and organisational data. This includes the set-up and management of systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across multiple sources, and preparing information to support financial reporting. The role holder will also ensure the effective use of Salesforce CRM and other connected systems, while enabling teams across the organisation to use data to drive insight and impact.
This role will report into the Head of Operations and Strategy, providing guidance on data management, systems improvements and organisational effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Data Management & Processing:
- Manage the end-to-end flow of supporter and organisational data across all systems.
- Collate data from multiple sources and prepare/upload into Salesforce CRM.
- Ensure data is reconciled with bank statements to guarantee completeness and accuracy.
- Carry out manual processing and preparation steps required for accountants and financial reporting.
- Maintain data quality and integrity across all systems and databases.
Systems & Integration:
- Oversee the access, security, and effective use of Salesforce CRM, payment platforms and third-party systems.
- Map and align data across platforms to ensure correct integration and reporting.
- Identify, resolve and prevent system or data flow errors.
- Support the Head of Operations and Strategy in implementing new systems or improvements.
Data Analysis & Insight:
- Provide accurate data analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Build dashboards and reports in Salesforce and other tools to support fundraising, research and operational teams.
- Identify trends, patterns and opportunities to increase organisational effectiveness.
- Act as the central point of expertise for data queries across the charity.
Team Support & Development:
- Support colleagues across teams to understand, use and manage their data effectively.
- Provide training and guidance on dashboards, reports, and data best practices.
- Share knowledge and recommend improvements in processes, data capture and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR in all areas of work (working alongside the Data Protection Officer).
Skill Set Requirements:
- Proven experience in data management, CRM administration or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce CRM (or similar CRM systems), data processing and reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to extract insights and translate them into actionable recommendations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing complex datasets.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in financial data reconciliation and reporting preparation is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), SharePoint and other relevant tools.
- Knowledge of data protection and GDPR best practices.

Key responsibilities:

Support the securing of income opportunities by providing financial information for bids, grants, and applications.

Work with project leads and the senior team to ensure the effective management of funds, including tracking and reporting expenditures.

Develop and deliver financial performance information to assist the senior team and trustees in running the charity, providing valuable financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing the charity's strategy.

Assist the CEO and Senior Leads in the business planning and budgeting/forecasting processes.

Support the Director of Services, to manage and review contract rates to ensure competitiveness and maximize income generation.

Manage the year-end independent examination by liaising and engaging with the external auditor.

Monitor and evaluate Hooyo Eas Food Enterprise & Chicksand Preschool Business Model.

Work with the Senior Team and Finance Sub Committee to provide adequate procedures, measures, and systems of internal control appropriate for the nature and size of the charity and meeting statutory obligations.

Produce accurate monthly/quarterly Management Accounts for the CEO and Senior Management Team, including commentary on significant areas and variances from budgets and Update monthly the cash flow forecast.

Manage the complete payroll process through QuickBooks and submit relevant deductions.

Complete monthly payments to HMRC, and year-end submissions in a timely, proactive and accurate manner and deadlines are met.

Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring authorised bills and invoices are recorded and processed on time.

Enhance income streams, such as registering for Gift Aid and VAT etc.

Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, identify and manage financial risks.

Undertaking administrative tasks as required, being hands-on and fostering a collaborative working environment.

Proactively monitor and evaluate activities within services business through the development and delivery of effective cross-service monitoring and evaluation, responding to issues and identifying and following-up on opportunities.

Deputise for Director of Service and the CEO when necessary including attending meetings and preparing and presenting reports.

- Proactively alerting staff and trustees to potential opportunities and threats to the charity.

Lead on the delivery of a sustainability plan, evidenced by Monitoring and evaluations outcomes.

Oversee designated project budgets for services and produce reports related to these.

Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is recruiting for the position of ‘Supporter Relations Assistant’ to be based from its Waterloo Office, London. This position is being offered on a fixed-term contract basis for 6 months. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.
To manage IRUK’s switchboard and phone enquiry system and to administer the entry of data on the fundraising database. This will include processing donations, updating supporter details, maintaining supporter records, and ensuring that information held is accurate, appropriate and up to date.
The successful candidate must have:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Experience of using databases
- Excellent customer service experience
- Experience of working with sensitive information
- Experience of and passion for, delivering excellent supporter care
- Good levels of computer skills with experience of working with databases and competent in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Fast and accurate data entry skills
- Good standard of numeracy
- Proven administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills by phone, email, and post
- Experience of delivering timely and accurate responses

The grants operations and data manager is a newly created role, within Moorfields Eye Charity's grants and research team, to support, manage and develop grant funding operations. This is a really exciting time to join the team as this position will play a key role in the ongoing optimisation of the teams grants management system (Flexigrant, implemented 2024) and also the underpinning funding operations to support the delivery of our first grants strategy, due to be launched in early 2026.
We have ambitious plans. We have put into action a five-year business plan that is supporting our growth from raising and funding around £6 million annually to becoming a £10 million a year charity.

About the role

About you
