About the Role

The role of Database Officer sits in the Data, Evidence and Monitoring team, at the junction of frontline services, fundraising and the leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of In-Form, our case management system for frontline services. In-Form represents a key data asset for the organisation so we are looking for someone who is responsible, conscientious and able to provide excellent customer service to other stakeholders who rely on In-Form. A strong interest in information management and databases is also essential for this role.

We would like to manage aspects of the development of In-Form in-house with limited recourse to the technical support team at In-Form. We recognise that this involves technical skills and will provide relevant on-the-job training to the successful candidate. We believe this job would be an ideal opportunity for someone who already has experience of using a case management system as a frontline worker in health/social care and now wants to move into data management, data protection and/or project monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

The Role

About the Role

Sense is recruiting for a Supporter Services Assistant to join our fantastic Engagement Team in Kings Cross, London on a hybrid basis.  

The successful applicant will play vital part in the Engagement Department and the charity as a whole – it makes sure that supporters have an outstanding experience of supporting Sense and know how much they are valued. Your daily task’s are varied with a mixture of in-and-outbound calling, combined with essential administrative tasks like income processing or capturing important information about Sense’s supporters and their motivations to support the charity.  

The main duties and responsibilities include:

• Accurately processing fundraising income, including cheques and cash, vouchers (CAF, KKL) direct debits, payroll giving and from online donation platforms (Just Giving, Virgin Money Giving, Facebook) within agreed timescales and in line with provided procedures.
• Create or amend supporter records on Sense’s Raisers Edge database, ensuring that all interactions between charity and supporter etc are recorded accurately and in line with best practice GDPR.
• Identifying opportunities for supporters to further engage with Sense and promoting them as appropriate to help deliver Fundraising department targets (such as sharing a supporter story with our Comms team).
• Work with other fundraising teams to ensure relationships with supporters are managed effectively, both by responding to enquiries promptly and by working to the agreed supporter communications plan. There is also the expectation to attend other teams’ meetings i.e. Community, Events, Philanthropy to understand what activity is happening across the charity. 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience of working in a customer or supporter service environment
• Administrative experience in a busy office environment
• Experience of using Raiser’s Edge or similar Customer Relationship Management database
• Outstanding customer service, an excellent telephone manner and ability to understand team needs to prioritise workloads effectively.

• Lead the design and strategic direction of our Digital Skills programme, Ensure the service we are providing is high-quality, impactful, trauma-informed and aligned with Screen Share’s 2026–2030 strategy.

• Oversee the onboarding and support of hundreds of refugees looking to develop digitally, including supporting with the development of their Independent Learning Plan’s and journeys through Digital Champions

Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world dedicated to women (and afab) with Fowler’s Syndrome or Chronic Idiopathic Urinary Retention; a life-changing and poorly understood bladder condition that causes full or partial urinary retention.

In this multi-faceted role, you will ensure that women affected by Fowler’s Syndrome, clinicians, researchers, and the wider public are intimately connected to the charity’s work.You will enable smoother pathways for women seeking support and for healthcare professionals looking to access educational resource, while also leading on a range of communications activities and awareness campaigns.

You will take responsibility for coordinating and facilitating online patient groups, supporting in-person events, and helping to manage FSUK’s Patient Council. Tasked with overseeing the development of content such as patient resources, you will also advance wider engagement across projects and research programmes and ensure that communications, whether via newsletters, social channels, or the website, reflect the charity’s voice and values.

While having strategic oversight and leading on the management of FSUK’s digital platforms, including their WordPress website and database consisting of patients and supporters, you will also maintain the charity’s fundraising pages. Through managing FSUK’s social platforms, you will at times also interact with the charity’s online community, responding with empathy as you engage and signpost to appropriate services such as the FSUK helpline, ensuring people feel heard, informed, and supported.

Lastly, raising awareness of FSUK will be one strand of the communications output, however the primary focus is to enable stronger connections and deepen engagement and trust with their valued community.

Emotional intelligence and well defined interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having proficient organisational ability and the aptitude to multi-task when working independently within this small, yet fast-moving team.

A background in patient, community, or stakeholder engagement will also be a valuable asset, alongside exposure to working within the health, charity, or research sector. You will have demonstrable experience producing content, alongside a track record of managing digital and social platforms (particularly Instagram).

Lived experience of Fowler’s Syndrome is not essential but would be a welcome bonus!
