We’re looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused Public Fundraising Executive (Community & Challenge Events) to join our ambitious Fundraising team and help support, develop and grow our Challenge Events programme, alongside delivering Community Fundraising activity.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves working with people, enjoys making things happen and wants to see the direct impact of their work.

With an initial focus on our expanded London Marathon programme, you’ll help recruit, onboard and support runners and challenge event participants, ensuring they feel motivated, informed and part of Team Sunshine throughout their fundraising journey.

You’ll also support the development and delivery of our wider Challenge Events portfolio, helping us strengthen existing events, explore new opportunities and grow participation and income across a varied programme of third-party and supporter-led events. You’ll work closely with colleagues and supporters to ensure each event is well planned, well promoted and delivers a brilliant experience from sign-up through to event day and beyond.

Alongside this, you’ll support our wider Community Fundraising programme, building relationships with individuals, wish families, schools, groups and local organisations, and helping them make the most of their fundraising.

You’ll play a hands-on role in:

• supporting, developing and growing our Challenge Events programme
• delivering outstanding supporter care and stewardship
• recruiting and supporting challenge event participants
• helping plan and deliver the London Marathon and other events
• building strong relationships with community fundraisers
• coordinating communications, materials, volunteers and event activity
• monitoring fundraising progress and helping supporters achieve their goals
• keeping supporter, event and income records accurate and up to date
• identifying opportunities for supporters to stay involved with Rays of Sunshine

We’re looking for someone with experience in fundraising, events, supporter care, community engagement, customer service or another people-focused role.

You’ll be highly organised, confident communicating with a wide range of people and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Most importantly, you’ll genuinely care about giving supporters a fantastic experience and helping them feel connected to the difference their fundraising makes.

Experience in Community or Challenge Events fundraising, particularly the London Marathon or another large-scale event, would be an advantage.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is currently hiring for two Fundraising Executives to support the delivery of the Committed Giving programme. One of these roles focuses on delivering acquisition through digital, DRTV and offline channels. The other role focuses on supporter retention delivering digital, phone and mail stewardship campaigns. 

Both roles are responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of campaigns and work on key projects across the team.
 

Salary 
 

The salary for this position is £34,563 per annum and we operate a hybrid working model of a minimum of 2 days per week in the London office.  
 

In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.  

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering key campaigns across committed giving, regular giving, lottery and new product develop with a focus on either acquisition or retention
• Supporting the delivery of campaigns through campaign briefs, timings plans, and KPIs against budgets – primary across digital, DRTV, and telephone.
• Working with third-party agencies to deliver day-to-day campaign activity
• Providing project and administrative support across the team, including tracking income and expenditure, managing campaign results, and improving processes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Understanding of direct marketing or committed giving across multiple channels.
• Strong project management and campaign management skills.
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and admin tasks at once.
• Experience of tracking and reporting on performance.

About the team 
The Committed Giving Team is a high achieving, fast-paced team responsible for the acquisition and retention of committed/regular donors. The team work across 3 key areas; Acquisition, Direct Dialogue Acquisition (Face to Face channels), and Retention (Stewardship).  

The Acquisition team is responsible for the recruitment of new regular givers and lottery players, through digital, DRTV, and other offline channels. 

The retention team is responsible for the ongoing stewardship and engagement of over 300,000 donors, ensuring that supporters are inspired to give for many years. 
 

The team work closely together with the shared aim of delivering exceptional supporter experience and raising the reliable income the hospital needs to help provide extraordinary care for seriously ill children and their families. 

DBS - note a basic DBS check is required for this role.

Based in Stanmore with hybrid working, you'll play a key role in growing community fundraising activity, building relationships with young professionals, families and community networks, while supporting the charity's mission to help people with neurodevelopmental disabilities, their families, and children in need across London and the South East.

The role

• You'll take the lead on developing and delivering next generation and community fundraising activity, building a pipeline of new supporters through events, networking opportunities, seasonal appeals and peer-to-peer fundraising.
• This is a varied, relationship-led role where you'll represent the charity within the community, recruit and steward supporters and volunteers, and work closely with colleagues across fundraising, events, marketing and data to deliver engaging campaigns and excellent supporter experiences.

• Has experience in fundraising, community engagement, relationship management or business development.

• Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Is proactive, personable and motivated by achieving targets.
• Enjoys working collaboratively and managing a varied workload.
• Ideally has experience using a fundraising CRM and delivering fundraising events or campaigns.
