Reporting to the CEO, you’ll directly manage four experienced team heads and oversee a high-performing team of 18 who generate bursary, unrestricted, and capital income. As Director of Fundraising, you will:

For over a century we’ve been helping former service personnel deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. About the role:

To support the charity’s income generation and stewardship of donors by working with the fundraising and events teams. There are a variety of annual special events that include but are not restricted to: Annual Charity Dinner, Armistice Address, Carol Service and Clay Shoot as well as Open Days, virtual events, AGM and the Secret Postcard Auction. Key responsibilities:

• Support the Senior Events Officer with all fundraising and stewardship events including the production, delivery, logistics and administration of our key special events

Are you an experienced fundraiser, skilled in crafting persuasive narratives and telling moving stories of impact and change? We have a fabulous opportunity for you to use your creative and organisational skills to make a difference to young lives in Doncaster. 

We are currently finalising our next Forward Plan, with an ambition to create an inclusive, vibrant community, committed to everyone having a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.  We currently work with children and young people aged 5 to 30. 

Our priority programmes include support coaching for young people, community activity sessions, sustaining our accommodation provision for vulnerable young adults and establishing how we can best support more young people on the homelessness pathway.  We have some great spaces that are in need of development, and we expect that both capital and revenue funding will be included in your workload. We also look for smaller grants during the course of the year, including for food for our residents and supplies for our art groups, and we hope to recruit volunteers to assist with some elements of this work.

The core of your role will be in generating funds from trusts and individual giving, with other fundraising and communications tasks included as time permits. 

- 

• To create and update cases for support for YMCA Doncaster’s fundable projects and general running costs.
• To be responsible for an assigned portfolio of trusts, foundations and similar, developing knowledge of, and relationships with, those funders.
• To make strong applications to funders within the assigned portfolio, matching YMCA Doncaster’s agreed cases for support with funders’ interests and requirements.
• To create, publicise and monitor outcomes of giving campaigns and / or fundraising events. 
• To nurture key external stakeholders including potential supporters from the local business community, the media and others as appropriate.
• To prepare and give presentations, maintain ongoing contact and host trustee or representative visits where required as part of fundraising work.
• To devise and oversee efficient evaluation and monitoring systems which meet funder requirements.
• To keep comprehensive records, in an established format, from initial contact with a potential funder through to either the rejection correspondence or the funding agreement and subsequent monitoring and evaluation.
• To ensure that staff and volunteers joining YMCA Doncaster are encouraged to contribute to positive communications and fundraising efforts.
• To supervise / oversee volunteers and less experienced staff engaged in fundraising work. 
• To comply with fundraising and other legislation relevant to the role.
• To report to the Chief Executive monthly in the required format.
• Additional or other duties as necessary within your capabilities and status to meet the needs of YMCA Doncaster.

About the role 

In this role, you’ll work with the Community Fundraising field and central team to ensure effective delivery of the Community Fundraising strategy and plan by maximising the potential of each supporter as well as exploring how the charity can support them. 

You will ensure that every supporter has a great experience of Parkinson’s UK through developing key relationships and providing operational administrative support, analysis and research as well as assisting in the development and maintenance of robust procedures. 

What you’ll do:

• Provide a welcoming, efficient and professional service to supporters and potential supporters of Parkinson’s UK and motivate them on their fundraising journey.

• Work with the Community Fundraising team and other members of the Parkinson’s UK Fundraising and Engagement Directorate to ensure effective delivery of the community fundraising strategy and plan.

• Support the Community Fundraising team in providing operational and administrative support, analysis and research. 

• Working with the Community Fundraising Officer, assist in the development and maintenance of robust administrative procedures to enable the whole team to function as effectively as possible.

• Participate in the delivery and fulfilment of Community Fundraising activities and events, including attendance and support of event organiser on the day, as required.

What you’ll bring:

• Friendly and approachable manner with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and provide first class customer service & supporter care 

• Familiarity with relational databases (Raiser's Edge preferred), including inputting and retrieving data and producing reports, requiring a high attention to detail. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels providing clear information, support and advice both verbally and in writing 

• Ability to deal with customer enquiries in a diplomatic and sensitive manner. With a proven ability to take a solution focused approach to problem solving and high attention to detail. 

• Ability to work flexibly and effectively as part of a team

You’ll work closely with the Community and Events Fundraiser to feed the events pipeline and support organisations in running their own events and fundraising initiatives. 

With experience in community or corporate fundraising or an equivalent sales or marketing role, you’ll combine ambition and a focus on targets, with exceptional supporter care. About the role 

We’re working to build and grow a powerful movement of people to transform the experience of people living with Parkinson’s. A big part of how we will do that is by engaging and mobilising our existing supporters through a wide variety of channels to take additional actions in support of Parkinson’s UK. 

You will be responsible for supporting the organisation's strategic approach to digital fundraising and marketing in partnership with the Digital Marketing and Supporter Experience teams, ensuring that all comms work together effectively in order to maximise supporter engagement and income generating opportunities. You’ll support fundraising teams by providing guidance and advice on digital fundraising strategy to help them achieve their goals.

As well as being a representative for Supporter Experience across fundraising and marketing activity. Looking for opportunities to improve experience, build loyalty and ultimately increase the lifetime value of our existing supporter base. 

What you’ll do:

• Provide oversight and coordination for all digital fundraising activity across different fundraising teams to ensure that opportunities for supporter engagement and income generation are maximised

• Working in partnership with colleagues across Fundraising and Experience, External Relations, and Data and Operations  providing support to develop, implement and monitor digital fundraising activity including donation or campaign related PPC, SEO and adverts

• Provide strategic support to fundraising teams with the development of long-term digital marketing plans designed to retain supporters, onboard new audiences and grow income that aligns to our Supporter Engagement Model and frameworks

• Management and oversight of our donate platform (GoDonate), working to optimise donation funnel in terms of experience and traffic.

• Construction of donate pages and direct donation online user journeys across the Parkinson’s UK website, in support of fundraising campaigns

What you’ll bring:

• Substantial experience of digital fundraising and marketing

• Proven success in developing intuitive and inspiring fundraising campaigns across digital paid and organic channels

• Good knowledge and experience of PPC, SEO and digital analytics platforms

• An understanding of email marketing platforms (Marketing Cloud) and email best practice

• A strong understanding of reporting, evaluation and testing approaches to enhance performance across platforms, webpages and campaigns

The role of Fundraising Lead is to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. You will develop high value 6- and 7-figure fundraising relationships, primarily with the private sector, but also with HNWIs in the future, bringing on board new supporters, so maximising income and sustainability.

With proposals already in play with leading brands, a supportive Head of Fundraising, and active trustee involvement, this is a rare opportunity to make a visible impact in an ambitious organisation.

As Fundraising Lead, you will:

• Lead corporate new business, with full responsibility for a £300k year-one target
• Build and manage a proactive new business pipeline, using prospect research tools, networking and trustee engagement
• Secure six-figure, multi-year corporate partnerships, developing creative offers across unrestricted, programme-based and blended opportunities
• Focus in the short-medium term on corporate new business, moving to incorporate HNWIs in time
• Work with the Head of Fundraising, SMT and board members to open doors and build senior-level relationships
• Collaborate with colleagues including the account management team and bid writer to ensure seamless handover and delivery of secured partnerships
• Represent STEM Learning externally, positioning the organisation as a credible and attractive partner for major corporate supporters

Ideal skills and experience:

• Proven track record of securing six-figure corporate partnerships, ideally multi-year
• Experience building a corporate pipeline from scratch, including research, prospecting and networking
• Strong understanding of how to package and position fundraising propositions to align donor interests with organisational priorities
• Confident and credible with senior stakeholders, including trustees, boards and senior corporate contacts
• Target-driven, entrepreneurial and proactive, able to deliver short-term results while building long-term income growth
• Collaborative and resilient, with the ability to represent STEM Learning externally and inspire confidence internally
• Experience in building relationships with HNWIs and major donor fundraising desirable, but not essential
