Job description

The Role

We are looking for a senior Registered Nurse with sound care home experience to join our Quality & Care Standards Team to help us to continue to improve the quality of care delivered to our residents.

You will do this by leading the development and design of a comprehensive training and support package for our care homes that will help our Nurses and Care staff to develop greater knowledge, skills and competency.

The role is home based but there is an expectation that you will spend time in our care homes supporting our management teams and Practice Development Facilitators. You will do this through delivering clinical training and helping embed the principles and practice of Clinical Supervision.

As a senior member of the Quality & Care Standards Team, you will also help to design and participate in clinical audit.

In addition to your Nursing skills, you will also need a post registration teaching qualification, an excellent knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control and the ability to write clear and concise reports.

You’ll be joining a new and cohesive Quality Team, and in return for your enthusiasm, sense of humour and commitment you’ll gain significant experience in change management and excellent opportunities for your own professional and career development.

About the Royal British Legion – Careers in Care, Nursing and Recovery

Across the country, in every city and on every street, the RBL is there to support our Armed Forces community. And our Care, Nursing and Recovery teams are there when people need us most. Supporting this community throughout the nation with understanding and compassion.

As part of this team, you’d be providing dedicated care in our care homes for older veterans, helping those living with dementia, supporting carers, or ensuring ex-service personnel and their families can live safely at home.

As well as being there with practical, hands-on support, you’d also offer advice and guidance. Whether that’s to help people with a particular need, or more simply to ensure that they are making the very most of the care, programmes and services we can provide.

It's this mission, this scale, this challenge and the values we all live by, that makes the RBL such a fulfilling place to thrive.

If you want to give your days meaning. To put your passion into a role with real impact. To support people and be supported yourself. In an inclusive team that faces every challenge together. Whatever your interests and ambitions, we think you’ll find a role here that works for you, with career opportunities right across the UK.

Diversity Statement

We believe that the compassion, understanding, and service we show each and every individual should be reflected in the way we all support, respect, and include every individual who works with us. We want everyone involved in our work or receiving our services, to feel proud to contribute to or be part of a diverse and inclusive organisation.

We recognise that we still have a long way to go to ensure that we make the RBL a truly great and inclusive organisation to work for and be part of so we have set out our commitments to provide a clear path to deliver this ambition. We will keep listening, learning, and sharing our progress and impact.
