ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people through supporting the Army Cadet Force and its activities in the community. The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. The opportunity

In 2026, Mothers’ Union will be 150 years’ young. This is a major opportunity for MU to celebrate with the membership, and also to use the opportunity to reach out to new members and supporters.

The following have been identified as the major activities for the year:

• London, June 10th: Thanksgiving Service in St Paul’s Cathedral at 5pm, followed by a possible reception.
• London, June 11th: Celebratory Gathering of the membership in central London, at the Emmanuel Centre, near to the base of MU in Mary Sumner House, Westminster.
• A physical exhibition in Mary Sumner House, and a virtual exhibition which can tour.
• Between March (Lady Day) and August (Mary Sumner Day) a range of events organized by provinces and local dioceses, for membership and fundraising, including picnics, Sunday Takeovers and local initiatives such as tree planting.
• In South Africa in October, a Global Gathering of 2500 members and guests, preceded by a leadership. meeting (“Worldwide Council”) and followed by a Worldwide Board meeting.
• For all, a cohesive communications plan is being prepared.

Current Status

Individual teams are taking ownership of elements, which particularly for membership and fundraising initiatives include targets for delivery. These are being finalized as part of the current budgeting process

We are, however, a small staff team, and this workload will be exceptional. Teams are discussing interdependencies and synergies across work streams, but there is a need to ensure that these are coordinated and monitored, and any issues or clashes in priority quickly identified and resolved. Throughout, close collaboration between the staff team and membership will be essential.

The role

There is a need for an experienced project manager to join the team, from October 2025 to November 2026, to provide co-ordination across streams and stakeholders, flag issues early, ensure that all activities are properly planned, resourced and within budget, and that relevant stakeholders are kept informed.

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with each stream leader, to put together a masterplan with associated  budgets, drawing together what has already been prepared, and flagging any potential gaps, synergies or conflicts, for resolution.

This plan will identify clearly accountabilities (and how these sit with the wider work of teams and individuals, staff and members or volunteers).

With the leads, to share the masterplan with the Board, for approval, and provide regular reporting, in line with agreed milestones.

For South Africa: In line with  the governance structure approved by the Board  in September, to be the coordinator for the Steering Group, Operational Committee and on the ground event management teams, ensuring seamless communications, and timely reporting as required; to manage practical issues with delegates from outside S Africa as they arise, for example around ticketing, and to manage stakeholders. This will, and will require close collaboration with the Director of Fundraising and Communications as senior staff lead and almost certainly require one or more site visits.

For centrally organized events  in London: To provide the detailed project management under the Membership Team, ensuring that necessary resource is drawn in for support at key times before, during and if needed after the events; to actively engage in delivery on the days, as required.

For Province and Diocese led events: To work with the Board lead to capture and track all events and their impact, and ensure that resources are made available through the central teams to agreed schedules, and reports received back for communications. This will include ensuring a shared understanding of the initiatives, and the benefits for the wider membership.

For Communications: To work with the lead and all teams, to ensure that all are agreed on and understand the priorities through the year, and that the processes in place to deliver.

Impact tracking: To agree / confirm with each workstream the target impact, and to track against this. To prepare an initial overall impact assessment by end November, 2025.

Reporting: The project manager will report operationally into the CEO or an agreed SLT member, and will provide monthly summary reports to the SLT, flagging any issues for resolution, and timely reports for the Board.

Mothers’ Union is a Christian organization, and all events will be inspired by the Christian faith. The postholder would need to be comfortable in working in a Christian environment, and a practicing Christian would be an advantage.

A project management qualification, such as Prince 2, would be a distinct advantage, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

As the Supporter Engagement & Legacy Manager you will play a key role as we seek to reignite our legacy marketing programme and grow overall individual giving income to help ensure long-term support for those facing financial difficulty. You will be responsible for the project management and implementation of all supporter engagement activity, acquisition, and legacy marketing activities, ensuring all activity is optimised and campaigns include enhanced digital and social media content.  

Reporting to the Co-Heads of Supporter Engagement and managing the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will develop a multi-year plan to rebuild legacy income and a pipeline of legacy supporters, including re-engaging the EFH care home staff and major donors.

You will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction, operational plans and effective management of Turn2us’s giving programmes from individuals including appeals, regular giving and legacies, maximising net income from new and existing income streams.

The successful candidate will have experience of managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment as well as proven ability to manage successful legacy marketing campaigns. They will have significant experience stewarding individuals and legacy supporters and be adept at communicating the impact of donations, as well as having line management experience. The ability to make a strong case for supporting Turn2us’ key areas of work is crucial, as is an aptitude for proactively increasing acquisition and retention rates.

The post holder will also be a self-starter who is comfortable building new strategies from a relatively small pool of supporters and is experienced testing different tactics to establish the best practice for Turn2us.

What does this role do?
As Legacy Campaign Manager, you will:

About the role

This is a key role within the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team. You will lead the development and delivery of the Trust & Grants Strategy meeting and /or exceeding income targets, support the ongoing development and delivery of strategic objectives and KPIs, ensure strong stewardship of our existing donor relations and prospect new opportunities for funding. The Trusts and Grants Team sits within the Philanthropy & Partnership Team in Freedom from Torture’s friendly, creative and ambitious Fundraising & Communications Directorate.

You will represent the organisation externally with funders and work internally with colleagues to identify opportunities for funding, in the preparation of proposals and thereafter, reports. 
 

About you

To be successful in this role you must have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing a plan to grow Trust & Grant income, successfully meeting or exceeding fundraising targets from a variety of funders and experience managing relationships with statutory funders and trust and foundations. You will have experience of managing fundraisers and supporting them to manage their priorities and portfolios. You will have experience of measuring and monitoring income and expenditure, and team performance.

It’s essential that you have excellent communication skills and can build relationships across the organisation to develop strong fundraising ideas and support engagement with senior staff in building relationships with trusts. You will have experience of managing donor funded grants including review of financial information, preparation of donor reports and donor compliance. You must have experience and knowledge of statutory and grant fundraising research tools and grant writing in the UK charity sector.

Our policy is that all appointments will be at the start of the salary range but successful candidates will have the opportunity to move up the scale over time. The progression up the salary range is reviewed on an annual basis and subject to affordability. For this role, the salary range is £49,147 - £57,010 per annum includes London weighting.

You'll drive the growth of our income from trusts and foundations. You will manage and develop an increasingly diverse portfolio of charitable trusts, foundations and Grantmakers, in the £20,000 - £100,000 funding range. • Considerable experience of high-value trusts fundraising in the £20,000 - £100,000 grant range.
• Experience of establishing and managing effective relationships with decision-makers within high-value trusts and statutory bodies
• Excellent writing skills, and extensive knowledge of how to write a compelling, winning large 5-figure bid.
• Extensive knowledge of monitoring processes utilised by grant funders and understanding of outcomes and impact approaches

About the role

Reporting in to the Church & Supporter Engagement Lead, the Church Engagement & Fundraising Advisor will lead and inspire a team of Church Engagement & Fundraising Officers, ensuring exceptional stewardship and engagement with churches, Christian Aid groups,
and the wider public to support Christian Aid’s values and goals.

The post-holder will oversee the stewardship of existing churches, re-engage lapsed supporters, and acquire new ones while equipping and motivating supporters to give, act, and pray against global poverty and injustice.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Church Engagement & Fundraising Advisor will include:

• Management of a team of Church Engagement & Fundraising Officers, fostering a collaborative mindset and creating an environment that promotes the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
• Build trusted relationships with churches, groups, and individuals, ensuring strong connections between teams for effective stewardship and seamless information-sharing.
• Actively identify and engage the most supportive churches across England, inspiring them to give, act, and pray with Christian Aid through tailored programmes of activity.
• Development and delivery of impactful plans to engage our existing supporting churches in key appeals and campaigns.
• Cultivate a culture of continuous learning in relation to supporter care, including communications with supporters, with a focus on Christian Aid Week, Christmas, emergency appeals and priority campaigns.
• Recruit and empower volunteers to build capacity and deliver maximum impact, modelling accountability and striving for cost-effective solutions that streamline decision-making and foster consensus.
