We are looking for a Business & Corporate Engagement Partner to join our North West Operations team. We are looking for an ambitious and autonomous individual to develop, deliver and grow our long-term corporate & Regional fundraising programme.
The key aim of the role is to secure new corporate partnerships which will both contribute to Canal & River Trust’s core mission of Keeping Canals Open and Alive and help companies to achieve their own Corporate Social Responsibility goals.
In this role you will develop long-term strategic partnerships with businesses that help deliver the Trust’s objectives of increasing brand awareness, gaining wider public and institutional support and delivering health and wellbeing outcomes across our vibrant and diverse regional network.
You will work with businesses and companies across the North West to secure support for work and projects that further our charitable objectives. You will be focussed on securing unrestricted income or restricted funding towards the core work for our charity.
You will be able to use your skills and expertise in corporate/charitable fundraising to help shape the projects and initiatives to help achieve your targets, with the key focus areas outlined below:
- prospecting new corporate partners, identifying new growth opportunities that match our charitable objectives, developing cultivation plans to build partnerships
- stewarding relationships to ensure that our corporate partners feel valued and connected to the Trust’s objectives
- identifying and shaping packages of sponsorship and support, ensuring consistency with other regions and the national Fundraising Directorate.
- Working with colleagues in the regional team to identify and shape regional projects, writing funding applications to local corporate foundations within the North West, working alongside the regional delivery team to track progress and help with forecasting, reporting back to funders
- Within the North West Region, we also have a unique regional opportunity to develop a corporate fundraising package based on our two major attractions at Anderton Boat Lift & visitor centre and Ellesmere Port National Waterways Museum.
In this role you will develop long-term strategic partnerships with businesses that help deliver the Trust’s objectives of increasing brand awareness, gaining wider public and institutional support and delivering health and wellbeing outcomes across our vibrant and diverse regional network.
Location - this role is offered on working from home basis. Candidates will be expected to travel across the region as required to attend stakeholder and business meetings (expenses will be paid). Role Summary
The Trusts and Foundations Manager is responsible for securing income from trusts, foundations and grant-making organisations across both revenue and capital targets, managing a portfolio as well as developing new relationships, and supporting the Associate Director, Trusts and Foundations by taking a lead role in the stewardship and cultivation of trusts and foundations in line with The Old Vic's fundraising strategy.
Your Team
The Trusts and Foundations Manager works alongside the Associate Director, Trusts and Foundations and Senior Proposal Writer, within the Development team, which fundraises for The Old Vic Theatre Trust 2000 (a registered charity). Its remit is to raise voluntary funds for the theatre from individuals, companies and charitable trusts and foundations.
The Old Vic Trust receives no government subsidy and is reliant on fundraising and ticket sales for its annual income.
Person Specification
Essential
- Substantial and proven track record in managing a portfolio of funders, meeting income targets and an awareness of fundraising best practice
- Ability to write a compelling case for support and communicate this effectively through both face-to-face presentations and written copy
- Knowledge of the T&F landscape and of the wider arts or fundraising sectors

We are looking for a proactive self-starter to sit within a high-performing team working to raise awareness of SSAFA’s support in the South East and London Region of England to those in the Armed Forces Community who need it most.
With the ultimate objective being to grow SSAFA’s presence, profile, and identity, the role is responsible for all marcomms activation in the region. The role holder will work to deliver the central Fundraising, Marketing & Communications strategy.
This role reports to the Senior Storytelling Manager with close alignment with colleagues across the marcomms directorate. The marcomms manager will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns in the South East and London Region of England and promoting SSAFA’s fundraising initiatives and services. You’ll identify the areas of greatest impact and cut through, deliver integrated awareness campaigns and secure media coverage of fundraising events. Crucially, you’ll be able to identify stories which resonate with our target audience and write calls to action.
With a heavy focus on media and PR activity, key to the role is building strong relationships and contacts with relevant stakeholders in your region including media representatives, employees, volunteers, and case study beneficiaries.
About the team
The Communications team is a small but dynamic group of individuals with strong skillsets across Public Relations, Storytelling (case studies) and Internal Communications. The team is a mix of ex-forces and civilians, and they are always sharing knowledge and expertise with each other.
You will work closely across all directorates within SSAFA, with a focus in the South East and London Region, to garner information and create compelling marcomms campaigns and activities to raise awareness of SSAFA’s work.

You will be a highly motivated and creative communicator with a proven track record of delivering impactful PR and marketing campaigns. As a natural storyteller with strong media instincts, you will excel at securing high-profile coverage and elevating our brand presence. You will be a confident relationship builder, skilled at engaging stakeholders across the region, from media contacts to volunteers and case study beneficiaries. You will also be able to work independently while staying closely aligned with teams across fundraising and communications, demonstrating proactivity and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Project-Y is a new outworking of our vision where we plan to place youth workers in local churches all over Ireland. We aim to help young people across Ireland have easy access to a Christian faith forming community. Rolling out Project-Y takes significant time and financial investment, especially as we are providing seed funding for placing youth workers, alongside intensive support when they are palced in churches.

This summer we have a unique opportunity to platform the story of Project-Y in the USA. We need someone to take a leading role in the management and delivery of this incredibly exciting fundraising campaign. This will give us access to approximately 73,000 young people and leaders across 900+ individual churches. This is an unprecedented exposure to potential supporters, partners, and donors.
With your skill base and expertise, could you help us to maximise this opportunity?
The Campaign Manager will drive and catalyse the support base required to propel Project-Y forward. We know this opportunity offers a concentrated pipeline to financial sustainability, both in regard to immediate one-off donations, but also longer-term multi-year support.
We have the front facing ask of the campaign in place. However, the missing piece is someone to manage and utilise the best systems and communication techniques to make sure the back-end processing of the campaign is smooth and seemless. The Campaign Manager will be responsible for donor stewardship, supporter segmentation, ongoing communication, optimising databases processes and increasing engagement to ensure the long-term sustainability of the program.
The Campaign Manager will have excellent expereince in donor management, skilled in automated and relational communications, and ideally is passionate about youth ministry. Someone who understands church partnerships, and excels in campaign management and especially the execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and manage communications for this campaign Develop appropriate donor communication strategy and suitable platform engagement for each of the three calls of action: young people, leaders and churches.
- Organise segment-based communications to keep supporters and those interested with the campaign informed and engaged.
- Implement a systematic donor stewardship plan, ensuring timely acknowledgment of gifts, personalised appreciation, and impact reporting to reinforce the value of their contributions.
- Gather and share stories of young people, churches, and youth leaders impacted by Project-Y.
- Segment churches into Major, Mid-Level, and General categories based on their giving capacity and engagement level.
- Develop a tiered engagement structure that aligns with these segments, providing churches of all sizes with meaningful opportunities to contribute while offering deeper engagement and exclusive experiences to those with the highest giving capacity.
• Ongoing Data Management
- Ensure accurate capturing of data
- Develop data analysis to ensure success of this campaign and enable effective foundations for ongoing fundraising
- Ensure systems are GDPR complaint
• Effective administrative systems
- Ensure effective administrative systems are in place with regular evaluation
- Establish automated communication as appropriate
- Ensure ongoing effective communication with donors
- Ensure giving platforms and donations are seamlessly integrated
• Ongoing relationship building
- Encourage churches to transition from one-time gifts to sustained annual support by positioning Project-Y as a vital part of their mission budget and demonstrating long-term impact.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings between large churches and CIY’s European Director when appropriate.
- Plan and coordinate site visits for large supporting churches to witness first-hand the impact of Project-Y.
- Set up post campaign systems and priorities.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience in donor stewardship and fundraising.
• Significant leadership experience in campaign management preferred.
• Expertise in donor segmentation, data-driven decision-making, and fundraising analytics.
• Significant experience of database management (CIY use HubSpot), data compliance (GDPR), and advanced Excel capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and execute relationship-building strategies.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to use initiative.
• Passion for youth ministry and CIY’s mission.
Miscellaneous:
• Salary: depending on qualifications and experience, the starting salary will be between £40,000 to £45,000 pro rata, per annum.
• Work-related expenses will be reimbursed monthly on a receipted basis. A mileage allowance will be paid for travel expenses.
• Holidays: You are entitled to 25 days per annum and ten statutory holidays, pro rata.
• This work may require some evening and weekend work. These sessions will be considered part of your working hours, where extra time is required, TOIL will be accrued and redeemed at a later stage.
