RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will see the successful candidate manage and develop a portfolio of successful national events. You will be involved in all aspects of the project management cycle from marketing and participant recruitment to supporter stewardship and race day logistics. With support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) you will prepare and track budgets for your assigned events and continuously look for opportunities to improve income and participant retention.

Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but the role is flexible and is open to remote working with monthly visits to the office (this will need to be more regular during events season). We offer an annual salary of £23,000-£28,000 (job titles and salary banding currently under review), 6% employer pension contribution and employee assistance program alongside annual leave of 25 days per year. Key Responsibilities
· Manage a portfolio of national events including TCS London Marathon and Great North Run executing the planning, delivery and evaluation of these events
· Inspire individuals with a connection to the cause to take on events for Meningitis Research Foundation to support our vision of a world free from meningitis

Key responsibilities and duties
The Fundraising Events Officer will support the overall delivery of our varied events programme, bringing their enthusiasm to a calendar of events that aim to raise significant income for the charity, whilst also raising the charities profile and reach. The Fundraising Officer at the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) supports a wide range of the charity’s activities, including but not limited to, helping to develop and grow income from individual donors with a focus on developing strong relationships with donors and families; as well as assisting with CHECT’s overall admin and operations.

This is a new role and a chance to make a big difference to the number of people we can reach in the local area affected by domestic and sexual abuse. Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in researching and writing compelling funding applications and managing relationships with funders, but who also has experience of working with corporate partners of all sizes. There is some flexibility as to which income streams the successful candidate would spend the majority of their time on – depending on their experience. In an ideal world we are looking for someone to cover both equally but please don’t be put off by the job description if you have more experience in one area than the other - for us willingness to learn and transferrable skills count for a lot.
An average week might involve finding new local businesses to approach, working with internal teams to research and write grant applications, meeting with funders or corporate partners, pitching to a potential new corporate partner or going to speak to their employees about their fundraising. It might be representing the charity at a corporate fundraiser or a networking event. There will also likely be a Capital Appeal, so any experience in running appeals will stand you in good stead. As you would expect working for a local charity no two days are the same and we all ‘muck in’ – which is part of what will make working for Yellow Door so enjoyable.
Responsibilities will include:
- Identify and research new Trust, Grant, Foundation, and Corporate funding opportunities for both restricted and unrestricted Yellow Door projects.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential funding opportunities.
- Plan, prepare, and write compelling and persuasive proposals, applications, and presentations for funding and new partnerships.
- Manage relationships with existing and prospective partners across Companies, Trusts, and Foundations.
- Establish effective relationships with new Companies, Trusts, Foundations, and other funding bodies to secure long-term funding and support.
- Achieve income targets that support the delivery of the service and fundraising goals.
- Collaborate with the Volunteering and Involvement team to maximise events and outreach opportunities in the local community, providing information about Yellow Door and ways to get involved.

Main responsibilities for the Fundraising & Membership Officer
Fundraising
- Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
- Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
- Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.
- Design, prepare and implement the agreed activities and campaigns, which are likely to be varied in nature and might include dedicated fundraising events, grant applications to support families in disadvantaged socio-economic groups, and legacy generation.
- Recommend changes and updates to the activities and campaigns based on testing and evidenced data.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of fundraising activities and campaigns, including both income and impact.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with both new and existing individuals and organisations, such as member alumni and grant-making trusts and foundations.

Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:
