About the Role

Working closely with the Development Manager and the Development Director, you will play a key role in strengthening relationships with the Trust’s communities, supporting fundraising initiatives and delivering engaging communications and events that foster lifelong connections with the Trust and its schools.

Team: Fundraising and Supporter Engagement, Philanthropy and Partnerships team 

As the Senior Philanthropy Officer, you will join a motivated, passionate and supportive fundraising team. You will work closely with specialists across all areas of fundraising and, supported by our Philanthropy Manager, you will take the lead on managing relationships with high value funders who support the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.

Stewardship:

• Provide administrative support for acquisition and retention campaigns

• Work with the Product team to maintain the supporter merchandise online portal, reporting on sales of merchandise and managing kit restock and reordering processes across fundraising.

• Act as the main point of contact for the relationship with our fulfilment partner, managing enquiries and escalation issues. 

• Oversee stock management, ensuring our supporter store availability reflects current stock levels and being responsible for co-ordinating timely restocking.

• Run daily checks of the supporter store to ensure order fulfilment can be carried out.

• Professional qualification or study toward CiCLA, LMAP, STEP, a law degree or equivalent.

TUR anticipates an annual income of approximately £725,000 in 2026/27, with around 57% generated through trusts and foundation grants. We have strong, established relationships with the majority of our funders, including a number of multi-year grants already in place.

We are seeking a Fundraising Officer to lead, shape and grow our income generation activity at a pivotal time for the organisation. This role is responsible for securing and sustaining the funding required to meet growing demand across our services.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead on trusts and foundations and community fundraising initiatives. You will play a key role in shaping strategy while also delivering high-quality funding applications and maintaining strong funder relationships.

This role suits someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, and who is confident representing the organisation externally.

The postholder will attend quarterly evening Finance Sub-Committee meetings, providing fundraising insight and income updates to trustees. Occasional evening or weekend fundraising events will also be required. Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

1. Trusts and Statutory Fundraising

• Research, identify and secure funding from trusts and foundations
• Develop compelling funding applications and tailored proposals
• Manage reporting requirements and reapplications in line with deadlines
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing funders

2. Community Fundraising

• Develop and steward relationships with community supporters and local networks
• Support and grow individual giving and small-scale community initiatives
• Represent TUR at meetings, local events and presentations
• Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement across West London

3. Strategy and Governance

• Develop and implement TUR’s fundraising strategy
• Provide regular fundraising reports to the Board and Finance Committee
• Work closely with service managers to develop strong cases for support
• Ensure accurate record keeping, income tracking and pipeline management
• Monitor performance against income targets and adjust plans accordingly

Harris Hill is working with a health based charity located in Epsom, to assist in the search for a Fundraising Officer for a brand new role.

This role will start life as a temporary position, working full time (37.5hpw), with 2-3 days a week in the office. However, the client is ultimately seeking a permanent fill for this role, so ideally we would like someone who would be interested in this transition over to work for them directly. 

The charity has seen substantial growth over the past two years, so this role has been developed to increase their income through individual giving, and events/ challenge events. However, the client is being flexible, so anyone with a broader fundraising background will be considered. 

To be considered, we would ideally like someone with the following keys skills and experiences.

Minimum of 2-3 years fundraising experience gained through working across several relevant fundraising disciplines.

Ability to clearly demonstrate the achievement of annual income targets.

Experience in the development of individual giving programmes. 

Experience in the development and management of supporter journeys. 

Knowledge and experience of using a CRM system (Sales Force or similar) 

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Excellent organisational and time-management skills. 

A clean full driving licence and a car owner.
