The Air Cadet Charity is an independent organisation dedicated to supporting the RAF Air Cadets. We provide essential grants for activities, cutting-edge equipment, and life-changing experiences that go beyond standard provision. From funding flight simulators and drone technology to enabling international expeditions, STEM projects, and leadership training, we give young people the tools to excel. Operating primarily on voluntary contributions made via cadet subscriptions from across the RAF Air Cadet organisation, we are now strategically expanding our fundraising focus toward corporate support.

This is an exciting role where you will take the lead on building upon our existing corporate foundations and establishing our dedicated corporate supporter network from the ground up. Key responsibilities

• Corporate giving: Identify, cultivate, and secure valuable philanthropic donations and financial support from businesses aligned with our mission, driving the primary focus of the role to grow our corporate donor base.
• Income generation & strategy: Drive income growth by developing and delivering against agreed corporate fundraising targets, building a sustainable pipeline of new supporters, and actively monitoring and reporting on financial progress.

This role reports to the Charity Director and works closely with the Marketing and Engagement Officer, collaborating across income generation and marketing to support our mission.

Person specification

• Essential experience: Proven track record in corporate fundraising within the charity sector, with a strong emphasis on securing corporate donations and an ability to manage multiple income streams as a sole fundraiser.
• Relationship building: Exceptional networking, negotiation, and communication skills with a natural talent for inspiring supporters to invest in our grant-making cause.
• Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives and philanthropic giving.

THE CHARITY

Universify exists to create a fairer, more equal society where every young person can fulfil their potential regardless of their background. We work primarily with Year 10-11 students (aged 14-16) to increase their aspirations, improve GCSE attainment and to gain a greater understanding of post-18 pathways, particularly university, to make a more informed decision about their future. Our main Oxford programme includes a week-long residential in summer of Year 10, a 3-day GCSE-focused revision residential in the spring of Year 11, and regular online coaching. 

Main Duties

• Plan and deliver the charity’s income generation strategy, including Trusts and Foundations, Individual Giving, and Public Fundraising campaigns

About the role

The Business Development and Fundraising Manager will play a crucial role in delivering a key pillar of our strategy: to build Claremont’s financial strength and sustainability.

The purpose of the role is to increase Claremont’s income from hall hire, therapy room hire, office lettings and donations, so that we can strengthen our much-loved services for vulnerable people.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development, Marketing and Promotion

• Develop and implement marketing initiatives to increase bookings for Claremont's halls and meeting rooms.

• Promote our hire spaces across online platforms (such as TagVenue and Sharesy), build new partnerships, and grow bookings through local networking and word-of-mouth.

• Improve our online presence and promotional materials by creating engaging content, including photography, video tours, signage and marketing literature.

• Support the marketing and promotion of office space rentals, responding to prospective tenant enquiries and assisting with the lettings process.

• Monitor booking trends and recommend new opportunities to maximise bookings and income.

2. Customer Engagement and Venue Hire

• Work closely with the Facilities Manager to respond promptly and professionally to enquiries about hall and room hire.

• Welcome new hirers, deliver customer inductions and support them throughout the booking process.

• Build strong relationships with regular customers, identifying opportunities to improve their experience and encourage repeat bookings.

3. Fundraising and Individual Giving

• Work with the Head of Operations to plan and deliver fundraising events, including the Claremont Exhibits Private View, Craft Fairs and new legacy programme activities.

• Develop and administer processes for Gift Aid and individual donations, ensuring records are accurate and compliant.

• Explore innovative ways to increase individual giving, improve donor engagement and reduce barriers to giving using digital tools.

• Support the development of Claremont's legacy giving programme and wider fundraising initiatives.

4. Operational Support

• Be an active member of Claremont's small team, contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the centre.

• Provide occasional front desk cover during staff absences, welcoming visitors and responding to enquiries.

We are looking for a Fundraising Support Officer to support a wide range of fundraising activities across Dignity in Dying and Compassion in Dying.

This is a varied and practical role supporting campaigns, donor care, and administrative processes. You will play an important part in ensuring our supporters have a positive experience while helping deliver key fundraising initiatives, including new programme development.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career, returning to work, or looking to move into fundraising. We are looking for enthusiasm, organisation and a willingness to learn, and will support you to develop in the role.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for fundraising campaigns, including direct mail activity
• Support the set-up and delivery of new initiatives (e.g. lottery and in-memory giving)
• Respond to supporter enquiries via email and telephone
• Process donations and maintain accurate supporter records using databases (e.g. Raiser’s Edge)
• Support donor communications, reporting and stewardship activity
• Assist with general fundraising administration and team support

This is an exciting new role created as part of a significant investment in legacy fundraising. You will play a key role in delivering a new, integrated legacy acquisition campaign designed to grow the number of supporters considering leaving a gift in their Will, while also increasing broader consideration of giving.

As a Senior Legacy Acquisition Officer, you will lead the delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of a new integrated legacy acquisition campaign.
You will manage activity end to end, from initial briefing and campaign launch through to testing, optimisation and evaluation, working closely with internal teams and external agencies.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Delivering an integrated legacy acquisition campaign across TV, digital, radio, print and other channels.
• Managing campaigns from briefing and launch through to ongoing review, testing and optimisation.
• Developing and delivering annual test plans to improve campaign performance.
• Managing campaign budgets, timelines and quality standards.
• Growing the number of quality legacy hand raisers year-on-year and meeting agreed acquisition and cost-per-hand-raiser targets.
• Supporting increased consideration of leaving a gift in a Will and broader consideration of giving.
• Ensuring legacy acquisition activity integrates effectively with wider brand, fundraising and supporter engagement activity.
• Developing an excellent supporter and enquirer journey, ensuring a supporter first approach throughout.
• Producing regular performance updates and quarterly impact reports for senior leadership.
• Working collaboratively with legacy, stewardship, supporter engagement, brand and supporter care colleagues.
• Ensuring legacy messaging and supporter journeys align with wider brand positioning and fundraising propositions.

You will have:
• Proven experience delivering integrated fundraising or marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including TV.
• Strong project management skills and experience managing campaigns end-to-end.
• A good understanding of fundraising and acquisition principles, including KPIs, testing and optimisation.
• Experience working with external agencies, such as creative, media and/or telemarketing suppliers.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, with confidence managing campaign activity and data.
• Experience using data and insight to monitor performance, identify opportunities and improve results.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to brief agencies and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
• Experience developing compelling, audience-led creative or campaign communications.
• Experience developing and implementing campaign test plans and working against clear hypotheses.
• Confidence producing campaign reports and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• An understanding of the importance of tone, trust and supporter experience within legacy fundraising.
• A positive, collaborative approach and the ability to turn strategy into well-run, effective campaigns.
Experience of legacy fundraising, gifts in Wills or long-term supporter engagement would be advantageous, as would experience developing telemarketing scripts, FAQs and supporter materials, and using brand or consideration tracking to measure attitudinal change.

• Salary: £41,500 per annum
• Contract type: 12 months FTC, full time, 35 hrs a week
