• Researching and writing grant applications to charitable trusts, grant-making bodies and other funders.
• Developing and delivering new and imaginative community fundraising activities.
• Encouraging appropriate corporate sponsorship and fundraising.
• Developing and delivering Open Country fundraising events and third-party events.

This is a hands-on, dynamic role requiring creativity, insight and panache, coupled with great communication and relationship-building skills.

You will work collaboratively with our Finance and Fundraising Manager at our Head Office in Harrogate, though an element of home working can be considered.

We are looking for a CRM & Data Officer to take ownership of HorseWorld’s supporter data and CRM system—ensuring it is accurate, compliant and actively enabling our fundraising to grow.

The Role

This is a pivotal role within our fundraising team. You will be the person who makes sure our systems work, our income is correctly recorded and reconciled, and our data is handled with care and integrity.

You will work closely with fundraising and finance colleagues, and with the CEO, to ensure that our data not only meets regulatory requirements, but supports better decisions, stronger relationships and increased income.

This is not just about maintaining data.
It’s about making it useful.

Key Responsibilities

CRM & Data Management

• Own and manage HorseWorld’s CRM system, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and usability
• Act as system administrator and lead on any future development or upgrades
• Produce reports and insights to support fundraising performance and decision-making
• Support colleagues to use the CRM effectively through guidance and training

Data Protection & Compliance

• Work with the CEO to ensure compliance with GDPR and relevant fundraising regulations
• Act as a key point of contact for data protection queries and audits
• Maintain clear processes, documentation and staff understanding of data responsibilities

Fundraising Operations & Financial Reconciliation

• Reconcile all fundraising income through the CRM with the Accounts team on a monthly basis
• Ensure all income streams (online platforms, standing orders, events, etc.) are accurately recorded and monitored
• Support fundraising activities and events with data and financial processes

Gift Aid

• Manage and improve Gift Aid processes to ensure efficiency and compliance
• Submit accurate monthly claims and maintain robust records
• Ensure readiness for HMRC inspection at all times

Lottery Administration

• Record and monitor lottery income
• Complete required returns to the Gambling Commission
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements

Experience & Skills

Essential

• Experience working with CRM systems and managing data accurately and systematically
• Strong Excel and IT skills
• Experience in administrative roles involving finance and/or donor data
• Confidence in reconciling income and producing reports
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

Desirable

• Experience in a fundraising or charity environment
• Knowledge of Gift Aid and charity income processes
• Experience with Beacon CRM or similar systems
• Understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements

Is this position right for you?
We’re seeking a Fundraising Officer to support the growth of all our programmes, services, and campaigns. Primarily working on a new area of trusts and foundations fundraising, including researching prospects. You will be responsible for making grant applications and updating funders, as well as providing overall support to the wider fundraising team at Humanists UK.

What you'll be doing

You'll be part of the Advancing Humanism Directorate. You'll work with our Head of Fundraising, Jess, as well as working closely with our Director of Advancing Humanism, Liam, and other members of the Communications and Marketing team.

The fundraising team is responsible for income generation including donors, campaigns, grants, and exploring new ways we can sustain and grow our fundraising. This includes planning and leading giving campaigns; donor and funder stewardship (working with the Chief Executive’s Office); developing and maintaining an income pipeline; and identifying new opportunities to diversify our income streams.

Key Tasks & Activities

Implementing and further developing Humanists UK’s grants, trusts, and foundations fundraising strategy, with key tasks including:

• Researching new funding prospects

• Maintaining and growing our funding pipeline.

• Supporting colleagues across the organisation to develop, bid for, and report on appropriate projects for funding

• Writing clear and compelling funding bids, proposals, and appeals, and produce timely, high-quality reports for funders

• Maintaining accurate records of applications, reporting schedules, project milestones, and grant income using the charity’s CRM system.

• Working with the finance team to make sure grants are administered efficiently and all income is accurately recorded

• Monitoring progress against targets, providing regular updates and income reports to the Head of Fundraising

• Supporting continuous improvement by maintaining effective systems for tracking and evaluating trust fundraising activity

• Keeping informed about developments and sector trends in fundraising

You will have strong organisational skills and be confident managing a varied workload, balancing application and reporting deadlines with funder stewardship and pipeline development needs.

You will also be a proactive and supportive team player and a self-starter. We are a small team who manage our own work, but value coming together to share ideas, support one another, and take creative risks.

Salary: £27,000–£31,000 
Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week (part-time considered)
Location: Derby, with up to 2 days/week home working

We’re looking for a proactive and relationship-driven Fundraising Events and Partnerships Officer to deliver standout fundraising events and cultivate meaningful partnerships for the YMCA Derbyshire.

Working closely with colleagues in Marketing, Fundraising, and wider YMCA teams, you will lead on flagship events such as Sleep Easy, Golf Day, supporter dinners and community activities, while developing strong relationships with local businesses, donors, schools, churches, and community groups. You will champion supporter engagement, ensuring every fundraiser, donor and partner feels valued, recognised and connected to YMCA Derbyshire’s impact.

You’ll bring exceptional organisational skills, creativity, and the confidence to represent YMCA Derbyshire as an ambassador across the region. This role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity within a mission-led organisation that supports young people, families and communities to thrive.

To be successful as the Fundraising Events and Partnerships Officer, you will need:

• Experience planning, delivering and evaluating successful fundraising events.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage businesses, donors, and community groups.
• Ability to manage budgets, track expenditure and report on income and ROI.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence presenting to varied audiences.
