Fundraising & Bid Writing Officer (FBO) Location: LDHAS, 2, Aalborg Place, Lancaster LA1 1BJ or such other place as LDHAS may require Salary: NJC Scale SO1 - £34,515 to £36,363 (Full time Equivalent), £18,408 to £19,396 (Pro Rata) Hours of work: 20 hours per week over 4 weekdays (9am to 2pm) Job summary The postholder will be responsible for identifying, writing, and submitting compelling, well-researched and tailored funding applications to relevant grant-giving bodies. The post holder will work closely with the LDHAS management team and the finance officer to gather information, write bids, and track progress of submissions, ensuring LDHAS meets income targets as agreed by the Trustees. About LDHAS Lancaster & District Homeless Action Service Limited (LDHAS) has been operating in Lancaster for over 30 years providing help to rough sleepers and vulnerably housed people. The centre is the heart of the organisation. We offer a basic needs service for people sleeping on the streets. We provide a service for those who are homeless or experiencing housing poverty in the Lancaster and District area. We provide the following essential needs for rough sleepers:
We are also a one-stop shop / homeless hub with visiting agencies providing services from our building to our clients, be it advice on benefits (universal credits, PIP etc), drug and alcohol services, help with housing needs, Hepatitis C testing, or medical assistance from a nurse in our medical room. Salary: £32,600 - £39,000

As part of this exciting role, you will support and deliver digital fundraising campaigns across events, appeals and year-round activity, while creating engaging digital content for email, social media and web channels. You’ll help shape and optimise supporter journeys to enhance engagement and loyalty, using analytics tools to monitor performance and identify opportunities for growth. Working collaboratively with colleagues across fundraising and marketing, you will ensure digital activity is aligned, effective and maximised for impact.
To be successful as the Digital Fundraising Officer you will need:
- Experience creating digital content and using CMS, social media, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Facebook Ads Manager
- Excellent written communication skills, with the Ability to use website content management systems to deliver engaging content and seamless user experiences
- Knowledge of digital marketing and digital communication channels, preferably within a charity but open to commercial sector candidate

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a new challenge events programme, as well as plan and execute key flagship events for Cherry Trees. You’ll work closely with the Community and Partnerships team and the Head of Fundraising and Communications to increase participation in these areas and maximise the profitability of our bespoke events.
You will be responsible for shaping a new events strategy, inspiring supporters, and driving sustainable income. You’ll manage third-party and key bespoke events, build supporter journeys, and create engaging content, with the support of our Communications team, to grow participation and loyalty. Working closely with the wider team, you’ll bring fresh ideas, test new concepts, and deliver high-quality events that raise both funds and our profile.
About You
With experience in fundraising and events, and a passion for participation challenge events, you will be a highly motivated and organised professional who communicates confidently across all channels and engages effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Conscientious and relationship-focused, with an eye for detail, you will bring a personal touch to deliver outstanding fundraiser experiences that encourage supporters to return and inspire others to take part.
