Summary of Role

The Head of Business Operations will play a key leadership role within The Brain Charity, leading and overseeing the effective and safe delivery of a range of business and operational activities. This includes responsibility for premises management, health and safety, data protection compliance, ICT systems, and operational services such as room hire and café provision.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and senior colleagues, the role will ensure that systems, processes and services run efficiently, meet regulatory requirements, and support the charity’s wider objectives. The postholder will also lead on continuous improvement, oversee operational performance, manage budgets and commercial activities, and develop sustainable income-generating services that support people living with neurological conditions.
 

Key Responsibilities

Management of Physical Assets

• Hold responsibility for the organisation’s assets register.
• Ensure that all buildings owned by the organisation and their fixtures and fittings are maintained to a high standard in a cost-effective way.

Health & Safety, Security & Business Continuity

• Provide leadership and assurance on the effectiveness of Health & Safety controls across the organisation.
• Ensure the safe, secure and continuous operation of the charity’s premises, including oversight of access arrangements, security controls, and incident response.
• Ensure Health & Safety and food safety policies are in place, effectively implemented, embedded into day-to-day operations, and consistently monitored to maintain full compliance across all operational activities.
• Ensure statutory checks, monitoring activities and remedial actions are completed, documented and reviewed in line with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain organisational readiness for incidents affecting premises safety, security, or continuity of service delivery, and act as the designated Deputy within the Business Continuity Plan, carrying out responsibilities in line with the defined scope and actions of the plan.
• Act as a designated security key holder and first point of contact for premises alarm activations and building security incidents, ensuring appropriate timely response and escalation.

Data Protection & GDPR

• Support and contribute to ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection legislation across the organisation.
• Support the CEO and senior leadership team in meeting data protection responsibilities, including compliance reporting and engagement with the ICO and Subject Access Requests where required.

ICT, Digital & Systems Oversight

• Provide oversight of ICT infrastructure, Microsoft 365 accounts and CRM systems, ensuring they support operational and business objectives.
• Produce and present quarterly reports covering ICT performance, KPIs, system risks and improvement activity.
• Manage supplier relationships and contracts for IT support services, including due diligence, contract management and renewal.
• Support ICT and CRM development initiatives in line with organisational priorities.
• Ensure compliance with Cyber Essentials requirements and oversee the organisation’s cyber security posture.

Operational Management

• Take responsibility for improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the café, room hire services.
• Work collaboratively with the Communications Team to support the promotion and advertising of business activities, including room hire and café services.
• Lead and manage facilities refurbishment and improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Oversee contractor engagement ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and contractual requirements during works.
• Ensure appropriate insurance policies are in place, regularly reviewed and maintained in line with organisational risk exposure.
• Act as the operational lead for insurance-related matters, including renewals and claims support.
• Support the CEO and Trustee Board with financial matters relating to business activities as required.
• Monitor and analyse business data, producing reports and delivering presentations to senior management and the trustee board.

Financial Management

• Set and manage budgets for existing product and service delivery.
• Forecast sales targets and monitor progress against these.
• Support the CEO and Trustee Board with financial matters related to business activities as required.

People Management

• Take responsibility for being up to date with the charity’s current policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to by all staff within your department.
• Monitor, performance manage and improve the efficiency of all direct reports.
• Support the professional development of all direct reports.
• Provide ongoing and regular formal supervision through the organisation’s supervision and appraisal framework.
• Motivate staff to achieve their KPIs through quality controls.
• Monitor, train and support all volunteers.
• Delegate tasks to achieve the overall aims of the organisation in line with own responsibilities.
• Contribute to The Brain Charity management rota when required. 

Other

• Take responsibility for being up to date with the charity’s current policies and procedures and to adhere to these.
• Actively support promotional and fundraising events for The Brain Charity, attending a minimum of 1 fundraising or client-focussed event over the course of a year.
• Assist and support volunteers within the team as and when required.
• Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required by the charity from time to time.
• Regularly provide cover for all aspects of the department you belong to during any absence relating to your colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified bookkeeper to join our small staff team in a part-time Finance Manager role. As a successful local charity with a committed and engaged board of Trustees, you'll be helping support young people with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

You'll be responsible for managing the charity's day-to-day financial matters, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, maintaining compliance with statutory and charity requirements and tracking specific project funds so the organisation can report transparently to donors and trustees. We're looking for someone with experience of charity finance management, who is self-motivated and focused, and able to work independently. 

The role is available either as paye or on a freelance basis at £25 per hour. It's mainly remote working, with occasional time spent in the Twickenham office. 

Responsibilities

• Dealing with all the day-to-day financial activities of the charity (the charity uses QuickBooks). In particular, processing and setting up for payment, supplier invoices and expense claims; issuing invoices for services or grants; recording donations, fundraising proceeds, and grant receipts, and reconciling all bank accounts, petty cash, and credit card statements. The recording in QuickBooks involves fund accounting, as some income is restricted and some is unrestricted.
• Managing and recording the transactions from outsourced payroll and pension providers.
• Production of Quarterly management accounts using an Excel template.
• Production of cash flow forecasts.
• Attendance at Business Committee Meetings on Zoom 6 times a year.
• Preparing the required schedules and liaison with the external Independent Examiner, in order for them to sign-off the charity’s statutory accounts in line with the Charities SORP.
• Generating financial analyses required by grant-makers regarding the utilisation of money granted by them to the charity.
• Processing gift aid claims.
• Working with the Manager and Treasurer to prepare the charity’s annual budget.
• Supporting the Manager with the management of any capital projects. This may include production of budgets and forecasts and management of specific grants relating to those projects.
• Ad hoc financial support to the Manager and Treasurer.

We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Administrator to expand capacity and play a key role in the next phase of our organisation-wide Salesforce rollout. Having successfully implemented Salesforce for donor management, we are now expanding the platform to support our international field operations. 

Working as part of our International Salesforce team, you will configure a brand‑new Salesforce NPC platform, integrate it with our existing NPSP donor system, and provide day‑to‑day support to users across 18 countries. You’ll be a Salesforce product champion - triaging support tickets, delivering configuration changes, supporting testing, and helping drive continuous improvement across the organisation. 

This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with our Salesforce Developer & Product Owner, Project Manager, and stakeholders around the world. Occasional travel to our London office and internationally may be required.

You are a certified Salesforce Administrator with strong experience building and configuring Salesforce from scratch. You’re a confident communicator, an excellent problem solver, and comfortable supporting and training users in an international environment. ROLE PURPOSE:

The Policy and Advocacy team within Womankind influences a transformative, feminist agenda for change in solidarity with movement partners and allies. This is a full-time, fast-paced subject matter expert role that leads the organisation’s partner centred and evidence-based advocacy in UK and Global Advocacy forums, from a decolonial feminist lens, in line with Womankind’s 2030 strategy. Additionally, the role supports partner advocacy related learning & exchange, and capacity strengthening for partners based in all of Womankind’s focus countries and co-leads work on advocacy related knowledge products.

Leads Womankind’s evidence based advocacy and strategic engagement in global, regional & UK Policy forums from a decolonial feminist lens. This includes:

• Formulation of Womankind’s UK & Global advocacy plans, and execution of key deliverables based on thorough advocacy mapping processes.

2. Feminist Research & Knowledge Production

• Proactively supports partner influencing and advocacy skills strengthening where necessary and appropriate, in line with available organisational resources.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualification and training:

• A post-graduate qualification in a relevant social sciences field e.g. international development or legal studies, human rights, gender studies, or equivalent experience.

Essential Experience:

• At least 5 years’ experience in the women’s rights and feminist sectors with demonstrable capabilities in strategic, partner-centred, evidence-based, decolonial feminist advocacy leadership in UK and Global Advocacy spaces.

• In-depth knowledge on core women’s rights normative standards and intersectional feminist principles that guide policy and influencing work within the UK and globally. This includes how diverse women’s rights thematic areas intersect and how this is integrated into strategic influencing and advocacy.

• Astute networking skills and ability to successfully build and leverage relationships with diverse partners, allies, government officials and intergovernmental bodies for strategic advocacy and influencing.

• Proven track record in leading/driving knowledge production from a decolonial feminist lens including research reports, and policy briefs.

• Country specific expertise in executing partner advocacy needs and learning and exchange opportunities linked to diverse women and girls in local, transnational, and cross-continental contexts.

• Sound programme management skills including demonstrable experience in advocacy related MERL, annual planning and budgeting.

• Demonstrable experience in direct line-management of officers, interns and volunteers in diverse and cross-cultural teams.

Travel Requirements:

International travel and regular in-person catch-ups with UK based policy makers and civil society colleagues are essential requirements for this role. The post holder is expected to engage in reasonable international travel to fulfil their duties. This is expected to be no more than four-eight weeks per year.

Line Management:

The role holder is expected to line manage the UK/Global Policy and Advocacy Officer. They will occasionally supervise consultants, interns and volunteers as needed, in line with the work they are leading.

Job Title:  Commercial Partnership Manager

Location(s): Home-based with attendance at AdviceUK office in London and at meetings as required.

Pay range:  £42,000 to £47,000 full time equivalent. £33,600 to £37,600 actual salary, dependant on experience. 

Working hours: 28 hours per week within normal operating hours (35 hours full time equivalent). Normal operating hours are 8.00am - 6.30pm, Monday – Friday. Lunch and other breaks are unpaid.

JOB PURPOSE 

The postholder is responsible for securing, managing, and growing commercial partnerships with organisations that support AdviceUK’s mission, values and strategic priorities. These partnerships should significantly increase AdviceUK’s commercial income, extend AdviceUK’s reach, and achieve measurable social impact. The postholder will ensure that commercial partnerships both comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and contribute positively to AdviceUK’s reputation and influence. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

1. Partnership development 

• Identify, research, and secure new commercial and corporate partnership opportunities aligned with AdviceUK’s strategic and income generation priorities. 

• Develop compelling partnership propositions, including sponsorships, strategic alliances, product/service developments, cause‑related marketing, corporate social responsibility, and other commercial collaborations. 

• Identify and develop new products and services that benefit members, grow income, and support member recruitment and retention. 

• Shape new products and services with user and sector insight, applying structured approaches to testing, evaluation and scaling. Ensure that pricing, return on investment and other financial modelling is completed to demonstrate how new products or services deliver agreed objectives. 

• Bring external market insight into AdviceUK’s strategic planning and decision making, ensuring that commercial partnership propositions are clearly differentiated in the markets they are targeting. 

• Work with the Head of Membership and Services, other colleagues at AdviceUK, and AdviceUK’s existing commercial partners to develop a commercial partnership strategy, business plan and pipeline. 

• Lead negotiations and contract discussions in partnership with the Head of Membership and Services, Finance and where relevant, AdviceUK commercial partners and subsidiaries. 

• Ensure all partnerships align with the charity’s mission, values and ethical standards.

2. Partnership management and growth 

• Act as the primary relationship manager for AdviceUK’s current commercial partners and subsidiaries to ensure they feel valued, informed, and engaged throughout the partnership lifecycle. 

• Maximise the value of established partnerships through renewals, extensions, upselling opportunities, and agreed new income generation activity. Support cross‑team collaboration and knowledge sharing. 

• Identify opportunities for innovation and growth within AdviceUK’s commercial partnerships portfolio. 

• Support the communication of impact to partners, including reporting on outcomes enabled by their support. 

• Represent AdviceUK at events, conferences and networks relevant to the commercial partnerships portfolio.

3. Income generation and performance 

• Ensure all partnerships deliver against agreed financial and non‑financial objectives. Contribute to departmental budgeting and forecasting. 

• Monitor partnership performance and provide accurate reporting on partnership income, engagement, and impact. 

• Contribute to the ongoing review of existing commercial partnerships and service level agreements, making recommendations for change as required. 

• Share learning, insight, and good practice to continually improve commercial partnership approaches.

Role overview 

The Data Manager is responsible for overseeing the collection, management, quality, security, governance and use of data at Now Teach. They are responsible for ensuring that Now Teach’s data is accurate, integrated between systems, well managed, accessible to support operational reporting, analysis, continuous improvement and strategic decision making.

This is a key role in ensuring we can identify, articulate and measure the impact of our work both internally, and with partners, senior stakeholders and funders as well as supporting our aims of operational efficiency and self-service. The role will continue to develop our data capability as an organisation to evaluate our impact and continually improve our processes.

The Data Manager will be adept at working with multiple stakeholders and helping navigate and simplify processes. They know how to pull information from our reporting systems alongside or combined with other data sources, including national benchmarks, to identify trends and patterns and provide that data to teams in a way that supports great decision making and improvement. They will have a passion for data engineering being hands on as well as being able to identify and implement improvements to drive our data forward. 

In this role you will……  

Data quality & governance 

• Oversee Now Teach’s data systems, fundraising and monitoring and evaluation processes ensuring they are set up for reliable data capture and reporting 

• Work closely with our data system product owners to ensure systems are set up and used to protect confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of data 

• Oversee data pipelines and the data aspects of integrations between our core systems

• Be responsible for data accuracy, integrity, governance and consistency across systems, ensuring high levels of data accuracy, completeness and consistency

Main purpose of the job

To lead and coordinate Bond’s UK G20 strategy and engagement by developing and delivering a multi‑year workplan. The role will convene and support Bond members and global majority civil society to shape shared policy positions, driving external advocacy and government engagement on the G20 agenda, overseeing communications and campaigns inputs and managing the resources, reporting, and partnerships needed to ensure effective UK civil society influence on the G20 through 2027.

Main responsibilities

Lead on planning and coordination of UK G20 work within Bond, including:

• Leading on developing a strategy and workplan guiding activities on G20, covering the period to end of 2027.
• Leading internal coordination within Bond to bring together relevant teams and staff to deliver on the strategy and workplan.

Context and Background

The NSPCC’s mission is to end cruelty to children. Today, the NSPCC lobbies government on child welfare issues, leads national campaigns and offers front line service support for thousands of vulnerable children. The Supporter Data Operations team is part of the Fundraising Operations team in the Engagement & Fundraising Directorate.

The team is responsible for donation processing, data processing, data quality, and user training and support. The team are also involved in delivery of our ongoing Supporter Centricity project, focussing on delivering Salesforce to maximise engagement as part of the wider programme.

The Associate Head of Supporter Data Operations leads and manages a varied team who work with stakeholders across Engagement and Fundraising, Technology, and Finance. The postholder is responsible for c20 office based and remote staff.

Job purpose 

· Strategic Development: Lead on recommendations to evolve teams, responsibilities and ways of working post Salesforce go live, ensuring that the NSPCC and our supporters benefit from the new technology.

· Team Leadership: Empower and enable the Supporter Data Operations team; foster collaboration and a culture of high performance and accountability. Support and upskill the team to evolve through change.

· Business Product Ownership: Own the vision and roadmap for the Salesforce platform for Engagement and Fundraising, ensuring it helps us to put supporters and audiences at the centre of the way we work whilst meeting organisational needs. Prioritise the backlog, balancing project and “BAU” development, working closely with business and technical stakeholders.

· The Supporter Centricity Technology project team who are leading on the replacement of supporter data systems

Main duties and responsibilities

· Provide effective line management and leadership within the Supporter Data Operations team. Ensure all team members are supported and empowered to deliver high quality work. Ensure that high performance is recognised, achievements are celebrated, and low performance is addressed and rectified.

· Identify opportunities to build new skills in the team on Salesforce, prioritising individual and team development.

· Evolve team structures as needed in line with Salesforce platform development, ensuring that the team has clarity of expectations and responsibilities. Identify opportunities to refine and strengthen how the team works in line with organisational priorities.

· Manage the Supporter Data Operations team budget, ensuring good value for money and maintain relationships with suppliers.

· Act as interim business product owner for the Salesforce platform, prioritising the backlog against business need and setting up ways of working for the long-term operational management of the platform.

Responsibilities for all Staff within the Engagement and Fundraising Directorate

· To actively participate in regular team meetings and department meetings, contributing to discussions and decisions which will be beneficial to the NSPCC’s development of fundraising activities.

Person specification

· Proven experience in leading operational data teams, setting strategic direction, and with the ability to inspire and motivate them.

· Experience of effectively leading a team through a technology change programme, ensuring they are upskilled and providing technical support where required.

· Experience with and strong understanding of current and emerging platform technologies (for example, Salesforce CRM and data cloud platforms).

· Excellent understanding of data management principles, including data governance, quality and security.

· Experience in leading on the delivery of a large complex portfolio of work, working with stakeholders to agree and prioritise work, driving delivery, and implementing strategies to reduce unplanned work.  

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

· An outcome-oriented individual who is focussed on solving problems and driving the team forward.

Rural Housing Enabler

Hours: up to 34 hours per week available for the role.

We are seeking a Rural Housing Enabler to join our friendly team and help tackle the rural housing challenges in Suffolk.

In this role, you will:

• Play a crucial part in increasing the supply of affordable housing in Suffolk
• Engage with communities and provide a range of support including:
  • Raising awareness of the need for affordable housing
  • Facilitating initial discussions to assess need
  • Gather evidence of need around rural housing
  • Liaise and engage with stakeholders
  • Assist parishes throughout the journey of developing their own local housing schemes

In this role, clear communication is essential. You’ll be presenting to a range of audiences, and working in partnership with communities / community leaders, parish councils, district and county authorities, landowners, developers, housing organisations, and other partners to bring forward affordable rural housing projects in Suffolk. Good IT skills, and the ability to build strong relationships are crucial.

Although this role is predominately desk space there will be some travel around the county and within rural areas of Suffolk. Access to a car is advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:

• Excellent working knowledge of the issues affecting housing in Suffolk, and other issues affecting rural communities
• Experience/ understanding of working in supporting rural communities thorough consultation for affordable and/or community led housing
• A good understanding of the principles of quality community consultation
• Working with local authorities, parish councils, housing associations and similar organisations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

About the role

Working directly with the Chief Executive as a member of the Senior Management Team of Coram, the Managing Director of Education and Wellbeing provides direct and matrix management and leadership across these different streams of our work with schools and teachers.

In this role you will drive partnership, business development and income to extend the reach, relevance and results for children. You will work to build and diversify subscription, direct purchase, international, statutory and commercial income streams integrating the offers and driving synergies between the programmes in the Centre. Included in this is the development of the voice of children in relevant areas of policy, particularly seeking to build social relational and critical thinking skills.

You will seek to represent Coram to advance public understanding and the development of policy and practice as it affects children and young people. You will grow Coram’s share of voice in the education arena, ensuring that policy positions, consultation responses and public communications remain consistent.

This senior role is an important opportunity for a for an established charity education leader with an entrepreneurial approach and programmatic leadership skills including income generation, built on extensive policy and systems knowledge, to impact through existing and new programmes to change the prospects of the next generation.

The successful candidate will have a strong business focus, with senior experience of identifying, responding to and delivering new business opportunities, product development / sales and fundraising. This, together with, experience of managing multiple and distributed teams whilst maintaining both quality assurance of programmes and building engagement.

You will be able to work individually, in a team and across the organisation. Strong ability to lead and motivate others, partnership building skills and knowledge, experience and commitment to improving lives of children are essential.
