Barnardo's is looking for a Senior Legacy Marketing Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract to shape and deliver a sector-leading legacy and in-memory giving programme. Reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and Legacy Marketing, you will lead the development and implementation of Barnardo's Legacy Marketing Strategy, with a focus on growing the number of legacy pledgers and intenders, delivering exceptional stewardship, and embedding legacy giving across the organisation. 

You'll also play a key role in developing a long-term growth strategy for In Memory Giving, working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver inspiring and engaging supporter experiences. 

 Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the development and delivery of a long-term Legacy Marketing Strategy to grow income from gifts in wills and in-memory giving. 

• Manage a team of legacy marketing professionals and oversee a budget of approximately £600k, with an income target of £240k. 

• Design and implement sector-leading stewardship journeys for legacy audiences. 

• Collaborate across fundraising, marketing, and supporter care teams to integrate legacy messaging and supporter journeys. 

• Work with internal teams and external agencies to deliver high-quality campaigns and supporter experiences. 

• Monitor trends in the legacy giving landscape and use insights to inform strategy and innovation. 

• Champion legacy giving across the organisation, building awareness and engagement internally.

Job summary 

As Grants and Impact Manager you will be stewarding high-profile Trust and Foundation donors, researching new prospects, and writing compelling applications using detailed case studies compiled by the team. You will also coordinate the development of a new Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) programme, strengthening our ability to measure, understand, and communicate the impact of our work. A key part of this will be focusing on evidencing and enhancing the positive change created by Caring in Bristol, ensuring that funders and stakeholders can clearly see the difference their support makes.

About the role  

As our Grants and Impact Manager, you will play a pivotal role in sustaining and growing Caring in Bristol’s income from Trusts, Foundations and statutory grants, by acquiring and managing high-value funder relationships. Alongside this, you will take the lead in developing and embedding a clear, organisation-wide Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) programme. This new focus will enable us to set measurable goals, track progress, and capture the real-world impact of our work - ensuring we can tell a compelling, evidence-based story to funders, partners, and the wider community. 

You will identify and lead the creation of high-quality trust and foundation applications and proposals, working closely with the Head of Trusts and Foundations, and take responsibility for a portfolio of funders, building strong, long-term relationships, improving funder satisfaction and securing continued or increased investment in our mission. 

Beyond managing relationships, you will help transform the way we demonstrate impact. By collaborating with service delivery staff to develop our impact monitoring practices you will ensure we can report back to funders with clarity, consistency, and confidence - showing exactly how their support translates into tangible outcomes for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Bristol. 

You will also be instrumental in delivering a best-practice funder engagement programme, finding innovative ways to create value for funders through tailored reports, webinars, site visits, and other forms of involvement. Acting as an ambassador for Caring in Bristol, you will represent us to funders and stakeholders with credibility and passion, using your insight to strengthen our reputation and influence. 

Finally, you will act as a voice of the funder within the charity, ensuring their perspective shapes our project design, monitoring, and communications. Working collaboratively with colleagues across service delivery, income generation, and finance, you will help embed practices that not only improve funder relationships today but also make Caring in Bristol more strategically and sustainably fundable for the future. 

We are looking for a strategic, experienced, and passionate Learning & Engagement Manager to lead the Trust’s education, volunteering, and community work. This is a key leadership role, focused on ensuring our community and school engagement activities are inclusive, effective, and impactful – helping people connect with, care for, and champion their local rivers.

You will guide our approach to community engagement and education, shaping and delivering our Engagement Strategy while supporting the team through a period of consultation, pilots, and organisational change. The role includes leading the Working with Communities Team in the first year, with a shift towards broader strategic coordination as the team evolves. You’ll collaborate across the Trust to ensure engagement is embedded in our work on the ground and contributes meaningfully to our wider environmental goals.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a deep understanding of environmental engagement and a strong track record in delivering impactful outdoor education and community programmes, as well as oversea the successful development phase of our new National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Chalk Streams in the City.  This project will revitalise four urban chalk streams in London and has engaging local communities at its heart.  Newly developed educational programmes for schools, citizen science training and out reach events, will connect thousands of people with these rare natural treasures.

Sebastien discovered ClientEarth while studying anthropology and law at university. The high-leverage legal approach to achieve tangible progress on the climate and biodiversity crisis was immediately appealing. Since joining ClientEarth as a Philanthropy Officer, Sebastien has progressed to the Philanthropy Manager position where he supports and oversees two members of the Philanthropy Team. He has found that working in the Philanthropy Team has been a fantastic way to support ClientEarth's mission while learning about the world and developing skills in relationship management and communication. 

Main Duties

• Actively manage donor relationships across assigned portfolio of largely UK supporters with first class stewardship and reporting to secure renewals and uplifts of approximately £500,000 pa.
• Support with oversight of engagement with supporters ranging from £10,000 - £50,000. Galvanise and coordinate the European Philanthropy team to identify opportunities to uplift giving and ensure all supporters feel valued.
• Develop the pipeline of new donors through effective prospect research, network mapping and connecting with new contacts at external and internal events as a representative of ClientEarth.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be occasions when you will need to attend 2 directorate days and conferences/events. In addition, the charity meets four times a year at the office in Hatfield for its 'All Staff Together' days, at which attendance is mandatory.

This role sits within our Social Impact Group and you will work closely with Senior Major Gifts Manager, AD of Philanthropy (Major Gifts), Director of Philanthropy & Partnerships, Major Appeal Programme Director, Executive Director Social Impact and senior leaders at all levels to identify and access new and existing networks of wealth, opportunity and influence.

Our step-change in impact with children will be achieved by a step-change in our philanthropy & partnerships: as a Major Gifts Manager, you'll play a crucial role in this transformation through development and personal leadership of a portfolio of philanthropists and donors that contribute major gifts (over 5 figures+) and support

In order to be successful in this role, you must have: 

-Strong knowledge and successful track record delivering significant income through personal approaches, liaising with philanthropists and personally securing and building senior volunteer networks

-Expert knowledge of major donor methodology with experience of developing powerful and impactful cases for support, giving proposals and asks of major donors.

-Proven experience of personally meeting income targets and delivering against stewardship and repeat giving objectives, activities, implementation, and risk mitigation plans

-Knowledge of legal, regulatory and ethical environment of major gift fundraising

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and highly dedicated Customer Success Manager to become a trusted partner to our charity clients. This role is crucial to the success of our clients, combining strategic account management for all dedicated clients and hands-on project management and campaign build for managed services clients.

You will be responsible for nurturing strong, long-term relationships, ensuring our clients achieve their fundraising goals and realise maximum value from our platform and services. You will also be the main driver of renewals, keeping churn at a minimum and working with the Head of Partnerships and Head of Commercial Strategy to increase lifetime value alongside identifying and executing up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Account Management:

• Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders at non-profit organisations, deeply understanding their digital fundraising goals and aligning our solutions with their strategic objectives.

• Work closely with the Growth team to deliver smooth and effective handover milestones, ensuring ongoing client confidence.

• Conduct regular check-ins and strategic reviews to assess client satisfaction, gather feedback, and platform updates.

• Proactively manage client health scores through our CRM  to help identify opportunities to increase client’s value and reduce churn.

• Explore different ways in which clients may benefit from additional use of the platform and managed services.

Project Management & Campaign Delivery:

• Lead project management and campaign build within the Social Sync platform for all your dedicated managed services clients.

• Ensure client satisfaction by keeping internal teams well-briefed to successfully deliver agreed client requirements to a high standard and on time.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure clients have everything needed for successful campaign launches and ongoing optimisations.

• Do everything within our control to optimise campaign performance, working closely with specialist functions to execute timely optimisations to overcome challenges and realise performance potential. 

Onboarding and Adoption:

• Deliver a quick "Time to first value" through proactive account management, particularly during a client's initial days or weeks.

• Offer personalised assistance and ensure access to and use of onboarding resources to accelerate non-profits's time to first value.

• Develop and execute strategies to drive adoption and engagement with our platform, tailoring approaches to each client’s unique needs and goals.

Success Planning and Outcomes:

• Create and manage comprehensive success plans for clients, setting clear goals and regularly reviewing progress to ensure they achieve their desired outcomes.

• Provide best practices and strategic recommendations to help clients elevate their fundraising efforts and fully utilise our platform and services.

• Act as the internal voice of the customer, gathering feedback and collaborating with our Product and Managed Service teams to drive enhancements that meet client needs.

• Identify potential risks and opportunities for upsell and cross-sell, working closely with internal teams and senior leadership to address concerns and explore growth possibilities.

Renewal & Lifetime Value:

• Lead on the renewal process for all your dedicated charity clients, proactively managing conversations to keep churn at a minimum.

• Managing deal lifecycle and sales process in our CRM working towards individual assigned revenue targets.

• Work with the Head of Partnerships and Head of Commercial Strategy to develop and execute plans that increase customer lifetime value.
