Fundraiser – The Role:

In this part-time role (22.5 hrs p/w) you will be responsible for all aspects of fund raising for The Middle Temple and for the associated activity. You will generate the strategy, annual fundraising plan and then enact activity to achieve the objectives set in the plan.

We’d love to hear from you if you are an experienced fundraising practitioner who has built strategies and plans with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Fundraiser – Key Responsibilities:

- To write the Middle Temple fundraising strategy and annual plan. Then, to enact the plan to achieve fundraising objectives

- To organise and run the annual calendar of fundraising activities, including appeals

- To manage the oversight of the Trustees of the Middle Temple charity and fund through regular meetings of these groups

- To manage, and keep updated, the fundraising databases and information sources required to enable the Inn’s fundraising

- Identify, cultivate and then apply to various funding sources, both internally and externally including grants and trusts

- Write funding applications where appropriate, monitor and track donations and keep financial records up to date

Fundraiser – You:

- An experienced fundraising practitioner used to both creating strategies and plans as well as operating as a ‘hands on’ operator

- Experience of a similar working environment and/or understanding of the workings of other not-for-profit organisations

- Strong administrative experience, ideally in a fundraising role, dealing with the legal and administrative requirements of fundraising including the relationship management of donors

- Experience in managing the requirements of a charity including accounting, reporting and attending meetings of the Charity’s Trustees

- IT literate with experience of using databases (Salesforce and CiviCRM), Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

- Excellent communications skills (verbally and in writing) at all levels

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Director of Fundraising and Communications is a member of the Executive Team. This is ShelterBox's most senior management team, with overall responsibility for leading, planning and managing the work and development of ShelterBox.

You will be responsible for the delivery of our current 5 year organisational strategy 2022-27 as well as the implementation of the departmental Fundraising and Communications strategy, driving continued ambitious growth in our reach, engagement and fundraising. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a highly experienced fundraising and communications expert, who has a passion for storytelling and building impactful relationships. You must be able to hit the ground running, have a strong record of developing and leading successful teams by building highly effective relationships. This role is all about inspiring leadership, strategic innovation, and maximising every opportunity to grow our vital work.

Experience and understanding of the humanitarian sector is desirable, as is an understanding of current fundraising opportunities and challenges, ethical storytelling and communication trends. You will lead a team of two, helping them set clear goals and track progress. You will also make sure that our fundraisers and volunteers have a great experience, so they will want to keep supporting us in the future.

The role

As Community Fundraising Lead, you will play a central role in helping Scope achieve its mission to create a fairer society for disabled people. You will lead the strategic development and delivery of Scope's Community Fundraising programme, ensuring it is inclusive, impactful and aligned with our values.

You will:

· Develop and implement Scope's Community Fundraising strategy, identifying opportunities that reflect the diversity of local communities

· Lead and support a high performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement

· Build and nurture relationships with supporters, volunteers and stakeholders, ensuring everyone feels welcomed, respected and supported

· Monitor and report on fundraising performance, budgets and key milestones, helping to shape future plans and drive income growth

· Collaborate with colleagues across Scope to ensure fundraising activities are inclusive, accessible and aligned with our charitable goals

· Stay informed about sector trends and bring fresh, inclusive ideas to our fundraising approach

· Ensure all fundraising activity is compliant with relevant regulations and Scope's internal policies

You will report to the Head of Supporter Led Fundraising and work closely with teams across Fundraising, Brand and Marketing, Retail, Services and Strategy.

We are currently finalising our next Forward Plan, with an ambition to create an inclusive, vibrant community, committed to everyone having a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.  We currently work with children and young people aged 5 to 30. 

Our priority programmes include support coaching for young people, community activity sessions, sustaining our accommodation provision for vulnerable young adults and establishing how we can best support more young people on the homelessness pathway.  We have some great spaces that are in need of development, and we expect that both capital and revenue funding will be included in your workload. We also look for smaller grants during the course of the year, including for food for our residents and supplies for our art groups, and we hope to recruit volunteers to assist with some elements of this work.

Job Purpose

To oversee successful fundraising, with a focus on grants and individual giving, and to ensure effective communication that supports YMCA Doncaster in sustaining current work and launching new projects.

Main Responsibilities

• To create compelling long form content including website articles, information for print material, case studies, media releases and similar.
• To create and update cases for support for YMCA Doncaster’s fundable projects and general running costs.
• To be responsible for an assigned portfolio of trusts, foundations and similar, developing knowledge of, and relationships with, those funders.
• To make strong applications to funders within the assigned portfolio, matching YMCA Doncaster’s agreed cases for support with funders’ interests and requirements.
• To create, publicise and monitor outcomes of new giving campaigns and / or fundraising events. 
• To nurture key external stakeholders including potential supporters from the local business community, the media and others as appropriate.
• To prepare and give presentations, maintain ongoing contact and host trustee or representative visits where required as part of fundraising work.
• To devise efficient evaluation and monitoring systems which meet funder requirements.
• To oversee the accurate completion of returns and reports, ensuring that funders are satisfied and funding continues.
• To keep comprehensive records, in an agreed format, from initial contact with a potential funder through to either the rejection correspondence or the funding agreement and subsequent monitoring and evaluation.

• To ensure that staff and volunteers joining YMCA Doncaster are encouraged to contribute to positive communications and fundraising efforts.
• To supervise / oversee volunteers and less experienced staff engaged in fundraising and communications work. 
• To co-ordinate the work of external providers where necessary for design and print, advertising, the website and similar.
• To ensure adherance to key messaging, branding and voice across all external communications.
• To comply with fundraising and other legislation relevant to the role.

• To report to the Chief Executive monthly in the required format.

We have a vacancy for an innovative and enthusiastic fundraiser to join our Development team.  

This is a pivotal role within the Development Office. The successful candidate will lead the College’s regular giving programme, increasing participation levels and raising funds through targeted direct mail and email appeals, telephone fundraising appeals, and online campaigns. The postholder will also develop the College’s range of fundraising literature as well as managing gift processing and reporting.

Merton is one of the oldest and most beautiful colleges in Oxford, tucked away behind the High Street, with glorious views across Christ Church Meadows but within easy reach of other University buildings and the city centre.  We are a vibrant, diverse, inclusive community with an exceptional record of academic success.

Working hours

Weekly hours of work for a full-time post are 35 hours, normally between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday in the office with an unpaid lunch break.  There is flexibility for the postholder to start earlier or later in order to travel to College and some home working may be possible in this role. However, the postholder will need to have a flexible approach to working hours in order to support some activities that are outside these times.
