About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. The role.

This is an exciting role that sits on the senior leadership team with a significant amount of autonomy for an outstanding fundraiser and leader who is interested in further developing a fundraising function to eventually deliver c.£1.8m fundraising income per annum.

They are at a crucial stage in the evolution of their fundraising. Opened in 2019, our Youth Zone is founded on the OnSide funding model whereby the first four years of revenue is made possible primarily by major donors – Founder Patrons – who each committed a minimum of £25k pa for four years.

Now as they enter year five, they seek the continuation of this support and are in the initial stages of diversifying their income sources. They have also secured significant ringfenced funding to expand the fundraising team, and the incoming Director of Fundraising will have significant scope to shape the team around their vision and strategy. We’re looking for a Fundraising Officer to join our small and friendly team at our head office in Rugby, working with our Income Generation Manager to ensure our income meets the increasing demands for our services.

Main purpose of the role

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, this post will lead on the development and delivery of Thrive’s community and public fundraising whilst working collaboratively with the rest of fundraising team to maximise and develop opportunities over various income streams.

Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Knowledge, skills, and experience

Experience in some or all of the below:

• funding opportunity portfolio planning and management
• developing supporter orientated propositions and Cases for Support
• identifying and researching high level major gift prospects in support of the successful solicitation of 5 and 6 figure gifts
• developing and maintaining processes for prospect identification, qualification, research, and tracking
• information management and interrogating and analysing data, to draw meaningful insights that support strong fundraising performance
• designing and producing a range of reports, ideally from a CRM as well as offline, to support and drive performance
• improving processes to achieve financial and non-financial objectives
• management of stewardship products/programmes and/or events
• supporting high-value fundraising teams
• line management
• liaising and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders at all levels
• comprehensive understanding of managing personal data in accordance with GDPR, data protection legislation and fundraising ethics
• ability to demonstrate, understanding and apply our Blue Cross values.

As the Digital Fundraising Officer you will play a key role in supporting the digital fundraising strategy in the UK and internationally, with the objective of significantly growing the public supporter base and income. You will help expand the rapidly growing programme in the UK by assisting the execution of lead generation and fundraising campaigns that engage supporters and generate revenue to support the organization's aims.

Main Duties

• Programme Execution: Assist the Digital Acquisition team in the planning and execution of UK paid digital fundraising and lead generation campaigns. This includes the setup of campaigns, the creation of landing pages, optimising live campaigns, moderating paid social media content and analysing results.
• Planning and reporting: Ensure all work undertaken is data-informed and evidence based.

Role requirements

• A proven track record of successfully delivering digital marketing campaigns. This includes ideation, planning, budgeting, setup, delivery, analysis and reporting.
• Experience of developing digital marketing content that engages new and existing supporters.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced, high performing digital fundraising team
• A demonstrable passion for digital tech and staying up to date with latest trends and technology
• Numerate with excellent data analysis and interpretation skills

The role

Our recent growth and ambitious plans for the future mean that RLS needs to raise more sustainable funding than ever before. The new Fundraising Officer role will be central to this, playing a key role in the future of the organisation. 

You’ll work closely with the Fundraising Lead to secure the financial support to allow the organisation to thrive and fight alongside more people who need our legal support.

• Researching, identifying and pursuing funding opportunities: you’ll proactively seek out and apply for funding opportunities to maximise income from trusts, foundations, and other relevant sources.
