About the role

• As the lead on our media, publications, website, social media and marketing work, you’ll manage the development and delivery of impactful content that engages our key audiences and supports our influencing, marketing and fundraising goals.

• The role will supervise a small communications team, providing support and leadership to ensure excellence across our communications.
• The role involves liaising with a broad range of stakeholders including funders, partners, people with lived experience, suppliers and wider sector colleagues.

• The Senior Data Integrity Officer is a key role in our Data & Analytics team and is responsible for managing Cat Protection’s supporter centric Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data loading system processes, ensuring timely processing, data governance compliance and following best practice.

• The data processing sub-team are responsible for importing supporter data into our main CRM from numerous different data sources and developing the import routines to do so, they are also responsible for data integrity; ensuring data is accurate and up to date, and maintaining our single customer and supporter view.

What we’re looking for in our Senior Data Integrity Officer:

• Significant experience working with a CRM system and database
• Experience of using ETL (extract, transform, load) import tools for example Blender
• Leading on projects to build and improve inward data flows and processes
• Proven experience of measuring and improving data quality, through development of documentation, validation rules and data cleaning
• Knowledge of fundraising CRM database for example Care, Dynamics or similar

Provide key data and segmentation for fundraising appeals and emails, working closely with the communications team.

• Experience in CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge) and proficiency in MS Excel
• Demonstrable experience supporting charities and fundraising teams in a data role

This is an exciting opportunity to be an impact catalyst across two Youth Zone locations (Carlisle and London).

Position: Impact and Insights Officer

Location: Hybrid (8 days per month across the 2 Youth Zones in Carlisle and Barnet)

Salary: £38,000 – 42,000 per annum (dependent upon experience) plus travel expenses

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Contract: Fixed term contract – 2 years (due to project funding)

About the Role

You will collaborate closely with a cross section of teams within the Youth Zones, working with the Youth Work delivery teams to feed data into decision making, and with the Communications and Fundraising teams to provide impact measurement and analysis content for use with stakeholders and in donor reporting. Furthermore, it will align impact and data work with national and local policy, and use national census, health, police and other statistical data to position the four Youth Zones for new income generation opportunities.

Main responsibilities include:

• Measuring and demonstrating the charities’ impact to stakeholders
• Authoring and providing the necessary data to the leadership and fundraising teams and Board (as required)
• Annual publications such as Trustees Reports and annual Impact Reports.
• Lead on data analysis and reporting on the data held in Salesforce CRM, improving both the quality and quantity of monitoring and evaluation processes
• Driving improvements in data capture through training and upskilling the Youth Work team
• Strengthening the ability of the two Youth Zones to demonstrate the measurable impact of youth work delivered.

Innovation is a key aspect of this role, involving the introduction and embedding of new methodologies to enhance the qualitative data capture process.

About You

This role is ideal for someone who has the ability to bring technical analysis to life in a youth work setting and can communicate insights in an accessible style to different audiences. The Impact and Insights Officer should be passionate about embracing the power of youth work and be keen to support Youth Zones in evidencing the impact created with young people. It will require someone who can bring impact expertise and creativity to create buy-in and drive improvements in data capture; and someone who is keen to work flexibly and closely with teams of passionate Youth Workers and who is unafraid of the challenge presented by Youth Zones in two very different geographic locations.

Previous experience in a data analysis or similar role, including handling large datasets, using data to derive insights and data-led decision making is required for this role, along with experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau), and previous experience working with young people or in a youth work setting.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Strategic Funding Team and colleagues across the organisation to build a deep understanding of Scouting—how it works, the challenges it faces, and the innovative ways we overcome them. You’ll also play a key role in delivering our small trusts mailing programme, helping to generate vital income from smaller trusts and foundations.

As the Strategic Funding Project Officer, your Key Responsibilities will include:

Process management and enquiries; this will include managing grant and corporate donations across the different areas working with legal and finance to manage legal grant agreements, contracting, preparing invoicing and funder queries. You will be the first point of contact for enquiries from Local Scouting,  Funded Project Managers, Trusts, Foundations and Corporate partners.

Database Management: This includes managing the pipeline, updating records, creating a variety of monthly internal reports, monitoring timelines and investigating any communication queries from funders. You will ensure all due diligence processes are recorded and segment data to maximise Trust, Foundation and Corporate income.

Skills & Abilities

• Works effectively with those within the team, the wider organisation and external stakeholders
• Recognises the benefits of empowering and collaborating with volunteers and young people, and can demonstrate the empathy, ability to give and receive constructive criticism and political acumen to do this well.

Knowledge & Experience

• Able to effectively communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
