Harris Hill is looking for an interim Fundraising Assistant to support a national charity for 2 to 3 months on remote of hybrid basis, starting May 2024.
The role is full time but could be 30 hours per week. You can work remotely outside of London or hybrid inside London, supporting their mass participation team.
Key tasks and duties
Communicate with supporters on the telephone, offer tips for their fundraising, get to know them and build rapport.
Update records on our fundraising database.
Place orders for fundraising materials.
Respond to supporter queries via email and social media.
Any other duties that are within the scope and remit of the role and as agreed with your manager.
Ideally, you would have previous experience of working in a fundraising team, supporter care, or similar, happy to work predominantly on the phone, liaising with supporters.

Main Responsibilities
Support from our membership and donors provides a vital source of unrestricted income that supports the charity’s work with wildlife.
The Supporter Care Assistant is responsible for efficiently administering the ‘supporter journey’ so that everyone is welcomed and thanked promptly and personally. This includes regular actions such as:
· adding new members to our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
· steps to ensure that the personal data we hold is accurate and used for the purposes given, in line with regulations such as GDPR
· responding to supporter queries
· sending routine correspondence
· working with other team members to support the smooth running of various fundraising processes.

What you will be doing:

You will have a good telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills, with an excellent understanding of confidentiality and data protection, an interest in the aims and objectives of Children's Hospice South West, a professional approach with tact and diplomacy and the ability to enthuse and motivate others. You will have a flexible and collaborative approach to teamwork, and the ability and confidence to apply your own initiative. An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel and Outlook) and database management is essential as is the ability to carry out detailed work with high attention to detail and accuracy. Oasis South Bristol hub team is now in a position to employ a Community Project Worker to work alongside our Oasis Community Hub team in South Bristol and we are looking for a talented and adaptable person to join our busy team focussed on supporting our academies in Hengrove: Oasis John Williams and Oasis New Oak and the communities they serve.
The role will encompass community support activity as well developing and running school holiday provision.
Key responsibilities will be:
- To provide enrichment activities to the children’s youth work to include holiday schemes, afterschool and lunch time clubs.
- To develop a strong food poverty programme and offer support for the community through adult education, wellbeing, advocacy/family support and volunteering opportunities.
- To work alongside the Strategic Community Development Leader to develop funding and volunteer capacity which can support the Academies holistically across all of the Hub.
- To engage and work with families supporting them to access Hub services and activities to develop their skills, knowledge and aspirations.
The successful post holder must have:
- Proven experience of community development
- Self-motivation, resilience, with excellent organisational and inter-personal skills.
- Successful experience of working with parents / carers (voluntary or paid work)
- Successful experience of working with children and young people
- Experience working with challenging behaviours and attitudes
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and health and safety
