In this season we are launching a new 10-year vision to plant 50 English-speaking Anglican churches in major cities and towns across Europe, to proclaim the gospel in culturally relevant ways, foster collaboration with other denominations and congregations, and become catalysts for further church plants.
We are now seeking to appoint a dynamic Mission Director as Richard’s successor.
This post is subject to an occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act that the post holder be a practising Christian.
You will be a Christian with a vibrant evangelical faith embracing a generous orthodoxy, with a breadth of senior strategic leadership experience in a cross-cultural Christian mission setting, pastoral and relationship building skills and compassion and wisdom to navigate the opportunities and challenges of the season ahead. You will also be passionate about our vision to reach people for Christ.

Overall purpose
The Programme Admissions Officer will be responsible for processing client applications, including conducting initial calls, checking eligibility and signposting where applicable. They would then flag new applicants with the relevant team/programme. This role is the gateway to accessing our services and plays a critical role in providing a positive and seamless client experience. As we enter a new and exciting stage of strategic development, this role has the potential to grow and develop in line with our evolving service model.

This exciting (maternity cover) role is key to encouraging young adults aged 18-30 to join our Interserve community, by harnessing digital tools and platforms and through in-person connections. We are looking for a confident and creative communicator with a shared passion for mission, as well as at least 2 years relevant experience of an engagement or communications role.
You will have experience in managing social media channels and working with a Word Press website, using Canva to create digital media and webtools to reach young audiences. You should also have excellent interpersonal skills, be well organised with good time management and a high level of accuracy in your writing.

This is a busy but rewarding environment, which offers an excellent opportunity to become involved in and develop a range of communications skills and experience in a small friendly team in a mission organisation context.
The role is hybrid, with a mix of time spent in our Birmingham National Office (minimum of 2 days per week) and working from home, with up to 5 days per month of national travel. The salary is £23,586 for 4 days per week (£29,483 FTE). It is a maternity cover role for one year.

As a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will work alongside the Head of Centre to manage and support the clinical team in delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. You will be an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention and team management and leadership. You will support men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporter(s), delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. Successful applicants will be joining a new team at a pivotal time and will have the opportunity to shape the local culture at James’ Place Birmingham. Training and support will be provided by the Head of Centre in Birmingham and the wider James’ Place team.
Person Specification
The role requires someone with a relevant qualification who can confidently lead a team and support men experiencing a suicidal crisis. You will need to be able to effectively conduct risk assessments and deliver our clinically proven therapeutic intervention to ensure client safety. Strong therapeutic communication, the ability to work autonomously and teamwork skills are also essential to this role, as well as the ability to build trust and hope.
