We are recruiting a Standards Policy Officer to join our small and friendly Standards and Regulation team.
About the role
The role of the Standards and Regulation function is to monitor newspaper, magazine and digital publishers’ compliance with the Editors’ Code of Practice and to take action to address concerns about editorial standards, including by undertaking investigations into serious standards failures as necessary. It’s a busy team that coordinates closely with others at IPSO and outside the organisation, engaging with members of the public, journalists, and experts on a wide variety of subjects. Some recent issues that the standards team has worked on are reporting of sexual offences, suicide, major incidents, and domestic abuse.
As the Standards Policy Officer, you will carry out a range of tasks, including analysing information drawn from complaints received by IPSO, supporting the annual statements process and engaging with a range of representative groups who have concerns about press reporting. You will work closely with the Head of Standards and other colleagues across IPSO.
This is a role for someone who is interested in news and journalism, has excellent communication and analytical skills, and enjoys working with others to achieve a shared purpose. Candidates who demonstrate relevant experience will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their skills through a written exercise prior to short-listing for interview. This means that we can measure candidates’ relevant skills directly and make a fairer decision on which applications to take forward.

3. About the role
The Office and Fundraising Administrator is an important role within Save the Rhino, supporting key functions primarily within our Fundraising and Operations pillars.
Reporting to the Operations and Finance Lead, the Office and Fundraising Administrator undertakes a range of administration and finance tasks to support office management, financial management, and fundraising, and is one of the first points of contact for our supporters and members. The Office and Fundraising Administrator will need to work regularly with Microsoft Office documents, spreadsheets and presentations, and with our Salesforce-based supporter and donation management systems. The Office and Fundraising Administrator also supports the Fundraising Team with aspects of supporter engagement and manages SRI’s volunteer programme.
In addition, depending on the experience and interests of the successful candidate, there may be opportunities to develop other skill sets.

4. Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Office and Fundraising Administrator are to:
- Work with the Operations and Finance Lead, including:
- recruitment and management of office volunteers and providing admin support to recruitment processes;
- financial administration, including importing and reconciling donations and other income, logging and banking cheques and cash;
- overseeing the management of SRI’s office, including booking annual inspections / tests, carrying out regular fire-safety checks, liaising with suppliers and contractors, and acting as the lead Fire Marshall;
- acting as a second point of contact with SRI’s IT contractors, maintaining logs of equipment and licence allocations, acting as an Administrator on some IT services (depending on experience), and inducting new team members on key SRI IT platforms;
- managing stocks of stationery, office consumables and equipment; assisting with booking work-related travel / accommodation for team members and volunteers, as well as occasional booking of external meeting rooms, venues etc.; assisting with administration of Board / subcommittee meetings, including diary management; and maintaining a log of SRI’s policies, and their review dates.
- Support the Community Fundraising Manager, including:
- managing communications with fundraisers; setting up appointments; assisting with event preparation and logistics; welcoming fundraisers when visiting the office; assisting with the recruitment of London Marathon runners;
- recruiting and managing event volunteers; creating and maintaining accurate records of fundraisers, donors and volunteers using SRI’s Salesforce CRM; and helping to set up fundraising and campaign pages on fundraising platforms.
- Support the wider fundraising team through:
- engaging with SRI’s members, including: sending out membership packs, responding to queries, and chasing failed payments;
- assisting with updating the online merchandise shop and creating bespoke stores for specific events, e.g. in schools;
- monitoring participation in SRI’s lottery, importing player information into Salesforce, and providing monthly reports to the local council; and updating records linked to legacies.
- Support general office administration
- answering general enquiries via the phone and main office inbox; receiving post; taking payments over the phone; taking notes of the weekly team meeting; and other tasks as needed and consistent with the role.

Essential skills/ experience:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a friendly and approachable manner and high attention to detail
- Experience working in customer-facing role, and handling enquiries
- Highly organised, with ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

i. ii. Monthly Payroll: With payroll data provided by the SMT and other managers, the Payroll Bureau (Access) and other stakeholders, to carry out all routines and procedures to maintain accurate and payroll processing in accordance with a rigid delivery timetable i.e.
• Payroll Processing for both fixed Salaries and variable Casual Wages (timesheets)
• Payroll Payments and Payslip Delivery to all employees
• Reporting and payments to HMRC: monthly and annually in accordance with published statutory timetable.
• To manage the payment of pension contributions and other employee deductions & benefits.
• Other Payroll administration and compliance e.g. for Joiners and Leavers
iii. VAT: To accurately reconcile, complete and submit quarterly/annual returns and associated payments in accordance with established timetables and reflecting partial exemption as appropriate. To liaise with the HMRC as and when required. To advise internally on technical VAT issues.
iv. Fixed Assets: To ensure the Fixed Asset schedules are maintained and reconciled on a quarterly basis with the General Ledger.

The Grant Operations Manager, part of the Impact and Charitable Programmes Department, will oversee the business-critical grant operations within the Grant Funding team. They will ensure there is robust decision making, effective processes to select and award the most impactful projects and programmes, and will enable the monitoring of outputs, outcomes and impact against the department strategies.
Key responsibilities
- Grant Governance and Compliance: Lead long-range grant governance planning for the team, oversee committees, review and refresh policies, ensure grant funding processes meet required standards, such as GDPR, and manage external audits.
- Grant Finances and Budgeting: Support setting and monitoring charitable expenditure and Grant Funding team budget, approve invoices, and maintain strong working relationships with finance leads at host institutions, the hospital and ICH.

It particularly works for people with long-term conditions (including support for mental health), for people who are lonely or isolated, or have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing.
At the centre of the social prescribing process is the Social Prescribing Link Worker, working with GP Practices in a Primary Care Network, who connects patients who are referred to a range of activities and services in the local area depending on their needs, interests and capacity for engagement. This is a complex role as the SPLW will need to have good interpersonal skills to engage with the patient and have a comprehensive knowledge of the services and activities available in the local area.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Join the Harris Federation as a Primary Operations Manager and lead on statutory compliance across a group of primary academies. This is a key role ensuring excellence in areas such as health & safety, GDPR, safer recruitment, asset management, and funding compliance.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that all academies achieve and maintain full compliance when claiming free school meals (FSM) funding
- Ensuring that each academy has the correct time-based evidence related to each free school meal claim
- Developing academy staff to ensure that each academy has sustainable processes and systems regarding FSM claims
- Leading with the central finance team any independent audit on FSM by any external agencies and to ensure that process and procedures are EFA compliant
- Ensuring and approving that each academy has recorded FSM and PP correctly on their termly census return and have the evidence to support the numbers claimed
- Being the lead across the primary academies on any new statutory developments and ensure that schools fully implement any new guidance

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, our Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.
About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated Wellbeing and Training Officer to support the wellbeing and development of our SANEline volunteers. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our volunteers feel valued and supported to provide a high standard of emotional support to our callers.

About the role
Working in close collaboration with the Senior Mass Fundraising Lead, the role will manage and deliver a variety of community-led fundraising initiatives and dynamic challenge events that engage supporters and generate vital unrestricted funds for children affected by neuroblastoma.

Main responsibilities
Public Affairs (50% time)
- Develop and implement the CJA’s public affairs and influencing strategy to advance the CJA's objectives.
- Work with CJA members on influencing specific legislation, including campaigning around bills, writing amendments, and working with MPs and Peers to promote them within the legislative process.
- Stakeholder engagement (Parliament): Build and maintain relationships with key policy makers and parliamentarians through face-to-face meetings, providing briefings to MPs and Lords for Parliamentary debates, preparing written/oral questions, and attending Select Committees, APPGs, Parliamentary receptions and other relevant roundtables and events.

Policy and Research (40% time)
- Monitor policy and political debates and developments on criminal justice issues, horizon-scanning emerging policy issues, and where appropriate, disseminate and brief colleagues and CJA members.
- Maintain a repository of evidence briefings from CJA members.
- Identify proactive and reactive opportunities to promote and embed CJA and members recommendations and research.
- Produce high quality and influential policy briefs, reports, position papers, and responses to consultations, to advocate for changes in policy and practice put forward by CJA members.
- Lead on the monitoring of policy engagement and impact by using our evaluation tools and work with external evaluators as required to capture impact and utilise learning.
- Work with CJA members, people directly impacted by the justice system and other key stakeholders to harness and amplify their expertise and insights.
- Lead the co-ordination and establishment of member expert groups to inform our policy work.
- Develop opportunities for joint working with researchers / research organisations and manage that partnership work, including co-ordinating the CJA research symposium.
Other (10% time)
- Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager to respond to media and other communication opportunities to promote the CJA’s work and to contribute to national debate on criminal justice issues.
- Work with the CJA team to recommend and secure relevant speakers and presenters for CJA meetings and events.
- Support the Communications and Engagement Manager to develop content for the website and other internal and external communications, such as blogs and articles.
- Contribute to the general administration and delivery of CJA programmes, events and overall objectives.
- Work with the Director to support the development of potential fundraising bids and reporting progress to funders.
