New Art Exchange (NAE) is a pioneering creative space in Hyson Green, Nottingham. We’re the UK’s largest gallery dedicated to contemporary visual arts from the Global Ethnic Majority. We set out to reshape the contemporary art narrative by championing diversity and inclusivity and by providing a platform for underrepresented voices in the art world. 

Purpose of the role

The Facilities Manager will be a key member of NAE’s operations team, responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of our 4-storey building (including gallery spaces, meeting rooms, performance space, workshop, artist studio, cafébar, plant room and technical storage) is fit for purpose.

Main duties of the role

Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), testing/inspections, and reactive repairs across all building services including but not limited to plumbing, electric wiring, HVAC, lifts, film alarm, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers and suppression systems, intruder alarm, CCTV, access control, pest control, etc, within budget.

Ensure NAE’s building is always well-presented, clean and aesthetically in a good state of repair, ensuring all areas are maintained in a tidy and well organised.

Responsible for the management of the facilities budget, including negotiating the best possible value across utilities, contracts and service level agreements.

Ensure all maintenance and service works take place with agreed SLA’s, is delivered on time and to budget and service reports and other filing is well managed.

Responsible for Health and Safety across the building and organisation including health and safety policy, fire strategy, risk assessments covering all areas of the building and specific RAs for each event, safe systems of work, accident/incident reports and compliant filing.

Responsible for building security systems, keys and fobs, alarm monitoring and keyholding services, and alongside the General Manager oversee emergency procedures & act as a fire warden.

Responsible for premises cleaning (including line management of two part-time cleaners) and associated services such as waste management and sanitary collections.

Support the Executive Director to develop and implement an Environmental Policy to ensure that NAE considers the environment within all new and existing suppliers’ arrangements.Responsible for carbon footprint reporting.

The Role

We are looking for a Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager to join the National Theatre Development Team.

The purpose of the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of fundraising at the National Theatre, as we look to grow our income from individual members, major donors, trusts and corporate organisations.

Working with the Senior Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager, you will develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets.

Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with the NT’s database, Tessitura, and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way. With excellent attention to detail, this role also undertakes due diligence research into potential funders to assess any risks to the NT of accepting funds. This role also manages the Development Operations Assistant, who leads the day-to-day administration of the Development database.

The role has scope to offer insights across the whole Development team and NT senior management, and would suit a strong collaborator with enthusiasm for the work of the NT.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Experience of managing prospect research projects and supporting prospect pipeline management in a fundraising environment.

• Experience of Tessitura or other customer relations management systems.

• Proven ability to gather and interpret information for relevance from a variety of sources.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

In the past five years of running our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, we have found that the best predictor of which incubated charities will end up causing the highest impact is the quality of the co-founding team. As we scale up, one of our biggest bottlenecks is identifying highly talented, value-aligned people out of the thousands of candidates from all over the world who apply to our programs. The difference in outcomes between a bad and a good hire can be huge, but this variation is even more extreme when it comes to co-founders. The initial staff of an organization set the pace, tone, and culture for the long-term. We estimate the impact of each average alumna/alumnus of our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program to be equivalent to donating $200,000-350,000 USD / year to effective charities. Finding 20-30 of these gems each year is difficult but is incredibly impactful. As such, the Recruitment Manager is one of the most important roles we are hiring for. 

The Recruitment Manager will focus on:

• Vetting multi-stage application processes (application forms, test tasks, interviews and psychometrics)

• Improving and adjusting our processes (e.g. coming up with predictive interview questions for new job roles; improving existing questions and tasks on the basis of data collected)

• Developing and formalizing a deep understanding of what traits, motivations, and personality types will be successful in different kinds of career paths and roles

• (if interested and a strong fit) Working with our outreach team to develop and execute marketing strategies that speak to the right people, inform them about our supported career paths, and help them apply

• (if interested and a strong fit) Managing or co-managing the recruitment team

The kinds of tasks involved in this look something like this:

• Evaluating hundreds of application forms and test tasks to figure out which are the most promising, using a wide range of information, formal and informal clues, and heuristics

• Evaluating and conducting candidate interviews to help identify and select the most promising candidates to join our programs

• Formalizing informal hiring heuristics into rubrics and learning algorithms (no programming required)

• Project managing each application round to ensure each candidate gets useful, timely, and relevant test tasks and information on next steps

• Analyzing historical data to pull out findings for future rounds (here’s an older public example)

• Conducting interviews with successful applicants to create feedback loops for improving our processes

As the Partnerships and Services Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and as such will be a member of the leadership team, to deliver Leaders in Community’s (LiC) work to empower young people and communities to improve quality of life and build a sustainable future in line with the Charity’s vision and mission. About the role

As the Area Service Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring our contracts with partners and/or commissioners deliver to the highest standards, in a way that creates maximum impact.

Across Yorkshire, you will lead on the delivery of our coaching and behaviour change programmes alongside managing our expanding housing portfolio and housing support services. You will take responsibility for growing the business across Yorkshire with existing partners, other organisations and via Local Authority contracts.

As a member of the national Joint Leadership Team (JLT), you will help to shape and develop our services and products, ensuring that the EF’s growth remains rooted in our organisational values of respect, accountability, and integrity.

Our current contracts cover Leeds, Kirklees, and York, and you will be required to work across varying sites. You will directly manage a team of Service Managers and Team Leaders and be responsible for a growing staff team of over 25 individuals.

You are an experienced operational leader who has a proven track record in managing front-line substance misuse, recovery and/or housing services.

As a values-led manager, you have a passion for developing services and staff to be the best they can be.

Organisation, planning, and communication skills come naturally to you, as you will managing competing priorities across a large geographical area.

Through our range of programmes, we work to inspire and empower young people, whatever their background to succeed in work and life. A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage the delivery of our EDI programmes and have a real impact on the participation of underrepresented groups in our programmes, as well as building on our established position within the skills sector.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing, managing and evaluating senior stakeholder relationships with external networks. With a proven track record of consistently delivering projects and programmes with high-quality results, the successful candidate will have up to date ED&I knowledge and demonstrable experience of raising the profile of an organisation within this setting.  The candidate will be experienced in development of programmes and partnerships to suit delivery of strategic objectives, and be able to project manage internal colleagues to deliver against set KPIs.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working within a charity that focuses on developing young people from all backgrounds, and will have the experience, knowledge and understanding to drive forward EDI in external facing programmes.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and deliver WorldSkills UK’s external Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) programmes supported by stakeholder engagement strategies across our network of industry, education and government. The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

• Produce requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.
• Maintain WorldSkills UK’s established management policies for dealing with risks and issues for the Corporate Partnerships team and the wider organisation.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.
