Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity provides specialist nurses and life-changing support for seriously ill children. Across the UK, over 200 Roald Dahl Nurses care for more than 40,000 children living with complex, lifelong conditions. For many families, the road to diagnosis is complex and uncertain, juggling hospital visits, managing medications, and navigating treatments and tests. They are often under the care of multiple specialists, across different hospitals.

About the role

The Communications Officer will play a key role in sharing the stories and impact of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, helping to raise awareness of our work supporting seriously ill children and their families across the UK. Working closely with the PR Associate and Brand & Marketing Manager, this role will deliver creative, high-quality communications across media, digital, and print channels. From crafting compelling stories and press materials to supporting digital campaigns and website content, the Communications Officer will help ensure our brand and messages reach and inspire key audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

PR & Media Support

• Work closely with the PR Associate to coordinate and facilitate PR and media activity.

• Draft press materials including press releases, media statements, and briefing notes.

• Support in identifying media opportunities and nurturing media relationships.

• Monitor media coverage and track PR outputs for reporting and evaluation.

Content Creation & Copywriting

• With direction from the Brand & Marketing Manager, produce engaging and brand-aligned copy for social media, website, email marketing, fundraising materials, and promotional collateral.

• Develop case stories with our families for fundraising reports and to support media, fundraising, and stakeholder communications.

• Contribute to blog creation, news updates, and storytelling content that showcases organisational impact.

Digital & Website Management

• Work with the Brand & Marketing Manager to support in managing website updates, ensuring content is current, compelling, and aligned with campaign priorities.

• Upload blogs, news articles, and multimedia content to digital platforms.

• Liaise with internal teams to ensure digital content reflects ongoing organisational activity.

Celebrity/Influencer Engagement

•  Manage and coordinate the organisation’s celebrity and influencer programme of activities.

• Support in identifying potential ambassadors and maintaining existing relationships.

• Assist in developing content and opportunities that drive ambassador engagement and visibility

Campaigns, Assets & Marketing Materials

• Support the development and production of communications assets, including leaflets, brochures, event materials, and fundraising collateral.

• Work collaboratively with designers, photographers, videographers, and agencies where required.

• Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and tone of voice.

Reporting & Evaluation

• Track and record PR, media, and digital activity to support reporting on reach, engagement, and impact.

• Contribute insights and updates to internal and external performance reports.

General Communications Support

• Assist in campaign planning, story gathering, and content scheduling across multiple channels.

• Liaise with internal teams to source content, success stories, quotes, and data for communications purposes.

• Support the wider communications and fundraising teams in delivering integrated campaigns, events and other initiatives.

1. Community Engagement: 

· Act as the face of the charity at community events, engaging with attendees and volunteers to share Cornwall Hospice Care’s purpose and work.  

· Encourage individuals, groups, volunteers and businesses to participate in and support fundraising initiatives.  

2. Fundraising Support: 

· Support event sales, sponsorships, and donations by promoting community events through various channels.  

· Collaborate with team members to ensure financial targets are met, share updates about current projects, share ideas and utilise any opportunities to support the wider fundraising team.    

· Collaborate with the marketing team to promote community events and challenges through social media, email campaigns, and local networks

3. Relationship Management: 

· Build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, event participants and our volunteers to ensure long-term engagement.  

· Contribute to thank-you efforts, such as writing acknowledgment letters to donors and volunteers.  

· Work positively throughout Cornwall Hospice Care as part of the Fundraising and Engagement team.

4. Volunteer Coordination:

· Assist in recruiting and training volunteers, ensuring that they are supported, motivated and informed about the charity’s purpose, ambitions and values. 

· Support our culture of appreciation and recognition for volunteers.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting: 

· Assist in evaluating the success of community events by gathering feedback and tracking outcomes.  

· Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising regulations, ethical standards, and best practices.

Job Purpose
The Head of Community will work with the Director of Services on strategic and operational planning and provide operational leadership for the range of Community services delivered by Age UK East London.

The purpose of this role is to:

• Take responsibility for the delivery of Age UK East London’s Community Service offer, ensuring its delivery requirements are met and we are responsive to new opportunities.
• Ensure that older people who are supported by the Community team also benefit from the range of AUKEL services and those provided by other local partners.
• Be an active member of our SLT, working with senior leaders across AUKEL, contributing your experience and expertise to problem solve, spot and develop opportunities as well as make an impact on our overall organisational development
journey.
• Build responsive and accountable relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including commissioners, partner providers, senior health and social care professionals.
• Motivate and inspire a frontline staff and volunteer team, using excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of key issues affecting older people.
• Ensure the services are meeting all KPI’s for quality and delivery, overseeing data management and analysis to ensure compliance and insight that supports future development and demonstration of impact, taking a continuous improvement

Our 24 hour specialist supported accommodation service provides support for women affected by any form of violence, including domestic abuse and/or sexual violence who are experiencing poor mental health and/or problematic use of substances, to build towards an independent future. This service is a high needs service.

The team delivers one to one support in the form of weekly keywork sessions working within a psychologically informed framework to create support plans with residents and build on skills and competencies. We use a strengths-based approach in the hope that service users can move on into the community or a lower needs service to live a better quality of life whatever that may look like for the individual.

This is a full-time role in a well-established charity based in Twickenham. This role would suit someone who wants to have the opportunity to work flexibly and build their career in the Charity sector with experience of working in social care.

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As a Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support.

As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Part of the role will also aim to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of adult carers, raise the profile of adult carers and ensure adult carers needs are met. You will also be expected to work with our volunteers and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show our funders what we have achieved.

You will be someone:

• Who works in a person-centred way

• Has an understanding of social care particularly in relation to carers
• Has experience of working with clients who have support needs
• Has experience of producing reports for monitoring and evaluation
• Is numerate and has knowledge of budgeting

• Has good communication skills including spoken, written and presentational

Main Duties include:

• To provide a regular telephone support-line, face-to-face and email support, offering appropriate, generic advice
• To offer a range of service delivery options and be involved in providing those options e.g., breaks, group work, leisure activities or other outreach activities
• To encourage and assist carers and those they care for to access Care Needs Assessments and Carers Assessments and to take up services that will enhance their lives
• To complete individual grant applications with carers for respite or if they are experiencing financial hardship due to the cost-of-living crisis
• To work where appropriate with other service providers/agencies to promote the carer agenda or jointly deliver carer support issues
• To be proactive in the registration of carers living or caring for someone within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames
• To keep accurate records of group and individual carer engagement for monitoring and evaluation purposes
• To participate in key events organised by Richmond Carers Centre and other relevant partners to promote services to a wider public

We are recruiting for a Shop Supervisor to join our diverse and engaged team in our shop.

It’s a great opportunity to deliver positive social impact in the local community and contribute to funding the vital work of SCT.

As Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards on our shop floor, supporting volunteers to provide excellent customer service. As well as involvement in stock selection, pricing and merchandising. A key part of the role will be to engage the shop within the local community with the onboarding of new volunteers.

To be successful in this role you will have retail experience or experience of working within a busy environment. Experience of providing a high standard of customer service and will have the ability to deal effectively with conflicting priorities.

You will have strong administrative skills including using all Microsoft packages, be solution focused, resilient, have a high level of attention to detail and excellent organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to successfully manage a busy and diverse workload.

The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with challenging situations and individuals with a range of needs.
You will have knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram and have a keen eye for fashion trends.
