Job description

Part time, 21 hours p.w.

Fixed term contract 12 months (with possibility of extension)

Citizens Advice Surrey Heath is looking to recruit an experienced Money Advice Caseworker to provide an effective and efficient specialist advice and casework service on debt and money management.  This includes:

  • providing direct support to clients with managing their debts and improving their financial capability and resilience
  • ensuring income maximization through the take up of appropriate welfare benefits and the application for grants where appropriate
  • assisting clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case.
  • supporting our volunteer Advisors with specialist debt advice.

You will have recent debt advice/casework experience and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of, and competencies in, the processes involved in dealing with debt and money advice cases. You will also have experience of providing financial capability support, particularly to vulnerable clients.  Effective writing skills are important, with the ability to create clear and concise case notes, reports and correspondence.

The position is based at our office in Camberley, however, you may be required to provide occasional advice and support at various outreach locations across Surrey Heath and home visits to those who are housebound and unable to access our services.
