You will work in alliance with the Community Savers Leadership and key partners to support creative organising for gender, housing, climate, and economic justice across Manchester neighbourhoods. This role is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund (Reaching Communities).

You will need:

• A deep understanding of the context for facilitating community action and community-led development projects in areas experiencing long term and intersecting inequalities.
• The ability to maintain a positive ‘can do’ attitude while negotiating complex and potentially obstructive political or relational dynamics.
• Skills & experience in the following areas: community-led action; advocacy; campaigns, fundraising, communications, leadership development, brokering partnerships, equality diversity and inclusion, conflict resolution, safeguarding.

Role summary: You will work with the Community Savers Leadership and key partners on the strategic development of community action, projects, and partnerships that reduce health inequalities and promote social justice. This will include networking and building relationships with existing and potential statutory and non-statutory partners; bringing in appropriate expertise to achieve community-led development projects; direct support for community action such as community-led research projects and partnerships; community mapping, visioning and action planning; supporting reflection and evaluation; and sharing learning widely. You will also supervise the coordination support provided to affiliated groups and leaders by our Community Action Coordinator (Manchester); ensuring a community-led process underpins leadership and associational development.

Animal Equality is an international animal protection organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.

Animal Equality releases investigative materials captured from inside factory farms and slaughterhouses, exposing the conditions that farmed animals face around the world. We focus on farmed animals because of the scale and severity of the issue. More than a billion animals are confined and killed for human consumption every year in the UK. Farmed animals also often suffer in some of the worst ways: pigs typically endure painful mutilations, many chickens die of heart attacks, fish are confined in underwater cages, and some farmed animals are victims of deliberate abuse and neglect. But the problem is solvable! By utilising effective campaigning strategies, Animal Equality is having an impact for animals around the world and building a future where all animals are respected and protected, and are no longer exploited for human consumption.

About The Role

The Communications & Digital Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in shaping Animal Equality UK’s public voice. They will ensure all outgoing content, both digital and print, aligns with our brand, values, and mission.

This role will lead on paid digital marketing and lead-generation activities to grow our supporter and donor base; oversee video production; manage website content; optimise organic and paid reach; support SEO strategy; and ensure consistent day-to-day engagement across our social media channels.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively across all UK departments, particularly Marketing and Campaigns, as well as with international colleagues, to maximise our impact for farmed animals.

Position Location: Remote, in the UK. Candidates should be prepared to travel to London once a month for in-person team meet-ups. Please note that travel for these routine office visits is self-funded. Occasional travel to Animal Equality events may be required, with all associated expenses fully covered.

The Opportunity

The International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC) are looking to hire an International Medical Engagement & Communications Coordinator. This role will be fully remote, working closely with UK business hours. It is initially a 0.6 part-time role on a permanent basis.

This role will suit someone who has experience working in a communications or engagement role with a medical society or university and having dealt with international stakeholders.

There may be some travel requirements to Aberdeen or internationally.

Experience and Qualifications

Education: A healthcare sciences or pharmacy qualification to degree level is essential, you may also have qualifications in medical writing.

Experience: It is essential that you have experience working for a professional medical society, university or similar organisation with international stakeholders. You should have experience in a medical communications-type role.

Job Description

Member Societies 

• Work with ISAC’s Member Society Engagement Group which is a sub group of the society’s Executive Committee, to realise their strategic objectives.
• Make contact with each of the Society’s Member Societies (currently 107).
• Undertake research if contact details are out of date to make the initial contact.
• Open a dialogue with the Member Societies.
• Request updated contact details and society information as required.
• Produce a paper summarising the different areas of activity undertaken by ISAC’s Member Societies.
• At the request of the CEO, send the Member Societies regular newsletters and updates about the Society and the benefits of membership.
• Create a template for the member societies to complete as details change.
• Diarise AGMs or key annual / biennial meetings for when member society key personnel may change and proactively request updated information as these take place.
• Undertake a membership survey, if required.
• Engage with membership through online media (social media, websites, online journal).
• Take overall responsibility for Member Societies under the guidance and supervision of the CEO.

Liaison with Commercial Companies

• Work with ISAC’s Industry Liaison Group which is a sub group of the society’s Executive Committee, to realise their strategic objectives.
• Update the details in ISAC’s industry database.
• Identify commercial companies (pharmaceutical / diagnostic) to add to ISAC’s industry database.
• Aid ISAC’s Industry Liaison Group to complete an industry review and produce a strategy document to identify opportunities to increase commercial support for both the Society itself (if required) and for the biennial International Conference of Chemotherapy and Infection (ICC). 
• Identify key prospects.
• Develop tailored approaches to these companies.
• Make these approaches.
• Facilitate discussions and negotiations as they develop.
• Maintain the relationship and engagement with corporate partners and other supporters.
• Fulfil contracts and ensure appropriate representation at the ICC and other meetings.
• Ensure corporate partner programme and sponsorship and exhibition offerings at the ICC and other meetings are complementary.

Communication

• Establish an internal communication / reporting structure and plan with the CEO during the handover phase.
• Produce an external communications plan for the Society to include all aspects of communication if required to include a strategy (24 month cycle) for the newsletter.
• Produce and maintain a database of E-mail addresses and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
• Design, construct and disseminate a regular newsletter under the guidance of the CEO.
• Take overall responsibility for communication under the guidance and supervision of the CEO.

Website

• Provide recommendations on redesign and usability of ISAC’s current website.
• Be responsible for updating the design and content under the guidance and supervision of the CEO / Executive Officer.
• Work with the CEO / Executive Officer to establish requirements and access.
• Act as the Society’s webmaster to update content as requested.
• Proactively update the content on Member Societies, Scientific and Educational Meetings and Archives.

Purpose of the Fundraising Department

The International Fundraising Department within Greenpeace International (GPI) ensures a clear focus on global income opportunities and challenges in partnership with National and Regional Offices (NROs). The department manages global fundraising sources, contributes to and coordinates global fundraising work, provides strategic focus for GPI fundraising specialists, and provides senior strategic guidance and leadership across the Greenpeace Network. 

Purpose of role

The International Philanthropy Manager is accountable for designing and implementing the Global Fundraising Strategy as it relates to major giving, including strategic partnerships, institutional funders, individual major donors, legacies, and capital campaigns. This role leads the teams behind major global initiatives, including a €100 million capital campaign for a new ship and the Priority Global Funders strategy—while providing strategic leadership, support, and advice to both Greenpeace International and independent National and Regional Organisations (NROs).

Primary responsibilities

Global fundraising strategy

● Lead and manage the design and implementation of the Global Fundraising Strategy as it relates to major giving, including strategic partnerships with institutional funders and individual major donors, legacy, and capital campaigns.

● Accountable for the design and implementation of the Key Relationships area of the Global Fundraising Strategy, including tracking and monitoring the success of its implementation.

● Lead, advise, and support the work done by GPI fundraising staff and NRO leaders in the key relationships area.

● Collaborate across GPI functions and departments to ensure alignment and integration of the Key Relationships Strategy with other organisational objectives, strategies, and plans.

People management

● Lead, manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of fundraising managers and coordinators across various areas of high value fundraising.

● Provide task management and direction to staff from other areas of International Fundraising and across GPI departments who contribute to fundraising deliverables. 

● Drive team performance through objective setting, performance reviews, coaching and development to ensure fundraising objectives are met.

National and Regional Organisation (NROs) support

● Oversee strategic and operational support provided to NROs to build the fundraising capacity and expertise required to deliver ambitious fundraising strategies and goals based on the respective market potential.

● Provide strategic advice and support to NROs for the development of the philanthropy and legacy elements of their 3-Year Strategic Plans and their annual organisational development plans.

● Support NROs in recruiting and onboarding experienced fundraising directors and strategic fundraising roles.

Communities and stakeholders

● Strengthen the fundraising director’s community of practice alongside fellow Strategic Fundraising Managers and the International Fundraising Director to foster a collaborative space for addressing global fundraising challenges and opportunities.

● Facilitate regular exchanges with other key leadership communities (such as Engagement and Programme Leaders) in areas of joint interest. 

● Build strong working relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders to represent Greenpeace’s interests and enable effective cooperation and knowledge-sharing across fundraising areas.

● Foster collaboration with cross-functional departments (such as Development, Technology, Finance and Programme) to co-design and implement highly engaging campaigns with strong fundraising potential and deliver robust proposals for key funders.

Financial, policy, and systems management

● Ensure the effective budgeting, management, and expenditure of internal resources.

● Oversee the budgeting and reconciliation of income from Priority Global Funders, individual major donors, and legacy gifts to GPI. 

● Serve as the product owner for the key relationships CRM.

● Hold responsibility for the development and implementation of global policies related to key relationships fundraising. 

Profile

Skills and qualifications

● Significant (7 years +) experience in a senior fundraising management role with a focus on philanthropy, of which at least four years leading international teams.

● Experience leading a capital campaign.

● Strong leadership abilities with experience building and developing exceptional teams to achieve fundraising goals.

● Strong track record of developing successful global proposals for large funders.

● Track record of leading the design and implementation of impactful global fundraising strategies.

● Track record of developing and delivering cross-functional fundraising strategies with multiple fundraising techniques.

● Track record of contributing to successful change management processes.

● Significant experience in systemic and strategic thinking.

● Significant experience of working with Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Safety principles.

Social entrepreneurs scaling their ventures face a specific set of challenges including income generation, hiring, governance, hard calls about growth and risk, all alongside scaling their social impact. We’re recruiting learning and enterprise development managers who’ve lived that journey themselves, to bring first-hand credibility and challenge directly to the entrepreneurs on our scale-up and scale-up-plus programmes.

You’ll hold ownership of SSE’s scale-up approach, shaping our learning content on strategy, profitability and the systems that hold a growing venture together – grounded in what actually works, not just what’s written down. Facilitation sits at the heart of this role. You’ll design and deliver learning programmes and group sessions for cohorts of entrepreneurs as well as leading 1-2-1 coaching and diagnostics, and delivering Action Learning Sets, SSE’s long-standing peer-coaching method (training provided).

We’re looking for people who’ve founded or led a VCSE with an annual turnover of £100,000 or more and held financial accountability such as statutory reporting to the Charity Commission and, where relevant, Companies House, reporting to a board or funders, and making hard calls about growth, income and risk.
