Are you passionate about securing and developing corporate and high value partnerships that have the power to save lives? Malaria No More UK is seeking a partnerships professional with the ambition and ability to build strong fundraising partnerships with the private sector, that help move us closer to a world free from the devastating impact of malaria.
About Malaria No More UK
Malaria has been described as the oldest killer disease in history. Even now, despite recent progress, it claims the life of a child every minute.
Malaria No More UK (MNMUK) brings proven global experience and expertise in advocacy and creative communications to the zero-malaria fight. From our locations in London, UK and Nairobi, Kenya we aim to accelerate an end to this deadly disease by:
- Securing leadership and investment globally and in the UK
- Building a powerful, united voice for the global malaria campaign to hold leaders to account
- Strengthening local advocacy capacity in key countries in Africa
Since 2000, the world has made enormous progress. The global malaria fight is becoming the biggest public health success story in history, and we are determined to maintain momentum.
About the role
The Corporate Partnerships Manager role is responsible for delivery across the breadth of the partnerships pipeline. An estimated 50% of the role will be devoted to new business development, including prospect identification, and shaping and delivering pitches and proposals to corporates and their foundations to meet fundraising targets. The remaining 50% of partnership work will be dedicated to delivering an excellent standard of partnership management to several longstanding existing supporters, working creatively to identify and develop opportunities to maximise their impact.
As our corporate supporters can be powerful partners in the delivery of our advocacy and communications goals you will be confident working with colleagues internally to translate campaign plans into engagement opportunities for private sector partners. You will also be able to co-ordinate colleagues to meet new business deadlines and to ensure agreed partnership deliverables are achieved.
This role sits within our Philanthropy and Partnerships team of five, who focus on income generation through grants, philanthropy, corporate partnerships and individual giving and fundraising. The post holder will work particularly closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, as well as equipping Directors and our CEO to engage corporate partners and prospects where appropriate. As a member of a comparatively small, highly ambitious team, there may, with time, be opportunities for the post holder to extend their experience beyond corporate partnerships, into other fundraising areas, should your skill set meet an identified need.
About you
You may be an established corporate fundraiser seeking a role where you can take on greater responsibility for managing your own pipeline of prospects and key partnerships. Equally you may come from outside the sector and be able to offer clearly transferable experience of securing and developing partnerships (especially those with a “purpose” focus).
Whatever your background you will be a self-starter who is highly motivated and excited by the opportunity to think creatively about corporate partnerships that can enable Malaria No More UK’s unique advocacy and campaigning offer, with a clear goal to ending one of the world’s most significant and oldest killer diseases.
You will also be able to demonstrate the good organisation needed for successful partnership management, and the attention to detail and strong communication skills needs to build relationships and prepare and deliver funding proposals and pitches.
MNMUK recognises the value of a team in which people from diverse backgrounds can introduce fresh ideas and contribute to delivering our mission to make Malaria No More. We welcome applications from candidates, regardless of their race, gender, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
Staff benefits include:
- 10% employer pension contributions.
- 28 days’ annual leave plus public holiday days in the postholders country of residence.
- Subsidised gym membership.
- Fully flexible working opportunities
- Interest-free staff season ticket loan and bicycle loan schemes.
- Continuing personal development opportunities.
- Professional training & qualifications subsidy.

About Bite Back 2030
We’re surrounded by junk food. From the moment we're born, every second of every day, children are being targeted. Giant companies manipulate them with colourful, cuddly, clever marketing, deceive them with packaging claims and pump products at them that are full of junk. It's become the cultural wallpaper. Now, it risks endangering the health of a generation.
In the UK, nearly a third of children aged 2-15 face a higher risk of food-related ill health in their futures. The good news is, it's preventable. And we're biting back.
Bite Back is a youth activist movement challenging a food system that's been set up to fool us all by:
1) Calling out the manipulation of the junk food giants.
2) Demanding higher standards from food marketing and from everyday food itself.
3) Mobilising and equipping young people in the fight for better food.
We do all this so we can bite back against a global epidemic of food-related ill health.
About Bite Back in Schools
Bite Back has delivered our youth social action programme — Bite Back in Schools— to over 120 schools over the last two years. Working with secondary schools, we have supported over 2,000 11-14 year olds to plan and deliver social action projects to prioritise child health by improving their school food. This could be by making nutritious and sustainable food the norm by increasing the flow of healthy options in their canteens, or by redesigning the school food experience to put healthy options in the spotlight.
With funding awarded from the #iWill Fund, we are recruiting a brilliant cohort of schools who will join the programme in September 2024. Our programme model combines an assembly delivered by a Bite Back young ambassador, five hours of curriculum time sessions for a whole year group, and our ever-popular and impactful School Food Champions (SFC) extra-curricular club. We have delivered 10 years of success, enabling our members to form a powerful, thriving, and supportive community of over 350 innovators. We run four programmes at multiple stages, from ideation to scaleup, for entrepreneurial engineers at different career points. Thanks to our charitable status, we don’t take equity, fees or IP.
The role will be to support, curate and deliver opportunities for a community of UK’s brightest engineering and technology entrepreneurs and business leaders (startups and scale-ups) to enable them to advance their entrepreneurial journeys and to provide them with opportunities to flourish. In joining the Enterprise Hub, the individual will work to support delivery of an ambitious programme of community engagement activities including monthly ecosystem meetups in London, developing new activities for our co-working space and for our communities, supporting our regional teams with the development (and possible delivery) of events, and helping to strengthen our alumni support.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an outstanding individual to join us as an Events and Community Officer as part of the Enterprise Hub Ecosystem team. We are a friendly, collaborative, and enthusiastic team working towards an ambitious mission. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to lead on the Enterprise Hub’s community engagement and events programme, working directly to support our community of entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the wider ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have some experience of working in a similar community engagement role, and / or in an events management role, and / or for an accelerator or coworking space. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in a career focussed on supporting entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate will be excited about taking the initiative, bringing new ideas to the table, and developing this area of work for the Enterprise Hub. Being able to build strong rapport with stakeholders in the ecosystem will be key to enable success in this role, so strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail are all important attributes we are looking for.
