As a Grants Manager, you will be at the heart of the DofE’s five-year strategy, Youth Without Limits, helping to ensure that we are open to all young people aged 14-24 across the UK and that our participants reflect the most diverse generation of young people ever.

You will manage and help grow one of our big grant-making funds, supporting organisations delivering the DofE to enable more marginalised young people to take part. You will also support grant management policy and process more broadly across the Charity.

What we are looking for:

You will be an effective and efficient Grants Manager with experience of fund management, from set-up to close. You will have a real interest in increasing enrichment opportunities for young people as well as in fund-management and grant-making, with knowledge of best practice in this space.

Motivated and enthusiastic, a collaborative team-player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a wide range of stakeholders, you will support Fundraising colleagues to help grow this fund, increasing access to our impactful programme.

More broadly, you will build on our fund-management and grant-making experience to date as we seek to constantly learn, develop, and improve our systems and processes, maximising impact for young people.

What you would do

As an Assistant Community Shop Manager (ACSM) for St Giles Hospice you will support in leading a team of volunteers. About the role

We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Business Development Manager with a passion for relationship building and service sales. Someone who can actively engage and work with our existing client portfolio and win new business through formal tendering opportunities to ensure VoiceAbility remains a provider of choice.

In this new role, you will sit in the Business and Strategy directorate working proactively with external stakeholders and colleagues from across the organisation to ensure that we grow our portfolio of contracts, re-win existing business and advise clients of new services. You will be doing a mixture of new business sales and account management of existing services.

This position is a full-time, 35 hours a week, permanent contract with a starting salary between £39,000 - £46,500 per annum depending on skills and experience. ROLDA (Romanian League in Defence of Animals) is a small animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in Romania and internationally. Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. Since 2006, we have successfully neutered nearly 20,000 cats and dogs, significantly impacting Romania's severe overpopulation of animals.

Job Overview:

As the Country Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and impact of ROLDA in the UK. This is a remote position (for now) that requires strategic thinking, people management skills, financial acumen, and a commitment to achieving our organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement growth strategies for the organisation.

• Write project reports and programme reviews, and coordination of donor reporting as appropriate.

We are seeking an experienced candidate with a great understanding and knowledge of individual giving, who shows great leadership skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to maximise opportunities to achieve organisational growth.

The role will manage the Donor Acquisition Fundraiser and In-Memory Fundraiser and be responsible for the overall delivery of our individual giving strategy.

As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and implementation of our individual giving programme of fundraising and activities, aimed at individuals. It will be the Individual Giving Manager’s responsibility to generate significant income through individual gifts, campaigns and appeals, regular giving, in memoriam giving, lottery and legacies, and to increase activity and income from these sources.

Your primary focus will be on recruiting new donors, retention through a gold standard supporter journey and income growth for these vital areas of fundraising, all while leading a dedicated team. You will be responsible for delivering innovative and creative appeals as well as supporting the fundraisers responsible for in-memory and donor acquisition to achieve their targets and objectives.

Individual Giving is a growing income stream for Birmingham Hospice, and this have been recognised by the Executive Team who are investing in this area, in particular regular giving and legacies.

About the Team

This role sits within the Business Enablement team within Shelter’s Technology & Data (T&D) Department, which is made up of 30+ people based across the country with bases in London, Sheffield, and Edinburgh.

The T&D Department is accountable for developing and leading Shelter’s technology and data strategic priorities, providing a secure infrastructure, management of data and insight to underpin strategic outcomes, delivery of technology change projects, data governance and the provision of support for a range of software, systems, and platform tools.
