Blue Cross hospitals provide veterinary treatment for animals belonging to those people whose financial circumstances do not allow them to afford private veterinary care. Our Grimsby Hospital provides a high-quality working environment with extensive onsite facilities with dedicated theatre space including a dental suite with dental x-ray, a lovely Mindray Vetus 50 ultrasound, and endoscopy. We are a busy hospital providing 24/7 care, 365 days a year, providing all emergency care in house.
You’ll help lead and support our veterinary team through recruitment, regular 1:1s and performance reviews. As a Senior Vet, you’ll keep an eye on team capacity, help manage diaries so everyone’s time is used well and be a steady, supportive presence during times of change.
Your role will include participation in our weekend rota with time worked compensated with lieu. We have a dedicated Night Vet team so there are no planned night duties.

What you'll do:

The Community Fundraising Assistant (Ramadan Campaign) plays a crucial role during Ramadan. The role provides critical support in fundraising collections and events. About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team to provide administrative and event delivery support across all event and fundraising activities. Oaklands & St Kilda's is made up of two newly refurbished six-bedroom homes, located close to each other in Ealing, West London. We work with up to 12 young people at a time, providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Many of the young people joining us are moving on from hospital, stepping down from more intensive placements, or transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.
Our team delivers 24-hour trauma-informed and psychologically informed support. You'll play a key role in helping each young person shape their own support and service experience. Everyone receives a bespoke welcome pack and is encouraged to personalise their living space, helping them feel at home from day one.
We place a strong emphasis on participation and co-production. Young people are encouraged to make decisions about their care, engage in partnership meetings, and take part in activities that build skills and confidence - whether that's cooking, budgeting, managing medication, or accessing education and work opportunities.
As a Support Worker, you'll provide direct, day-to-day support to young people, helping them develop essential life skills, manage their mental health, and build independence. This role is a 12-month FTC maternity cover.
Look Ahead's Hammersmith & Fulham Mental Health Service is a Mental Health supported accommodation which is a pathway service for people to work towards their independence.
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting our residents to help them to enhance life skills and increase independence and manage their health. This also includes tenancy management and other life skills.
Support Workers in the service work across all 3 projects in Hammersmith and Fulham; working with customers with varying levels of support needs. Many of the customers have complex needs including dual diagnosis and Support Workers are expected to liaise with other agencies within the borough to best support customers. Support Workers are expected to support customers on their journey to independence in a person-centred, non-judgemental way, whilst adhering to the Look Ahead core values.
The work schedule for this position follows a 5-week rotating pattern. It involves working on weekends and bank holidays. In this 5-week cycle, there are two weekends off and one full weekend of work.

The team:
You will join our National Support Office team based in Eynsham, supporting our charitable work with families and professionals across the UK. Job Purpose
To manage and enhance HR processes, support governance and the Board of Trustees, and create a positive experience for our workforce aligned with our charities values, culture and aims.

Provide administrative support to the Board of Trustees

Maintain confidential personnel files for employees, casual workers, freelancers and volunteers.

Oversee a quality recruitment process that aligns to organisational need, in line with the HENRY values.

Onboard new employees, casual workers, freelancers and volunteers and support a quality induction.

Oversee all processes linked to the employee lifecycle, including types of leave and processing leavers.

Manage HR retention periods for records and maintain accurate records

Be the first port of call for queries and support the Head of People in the breadth of issues and challenges that arise.

Provide accurate and detailed information to our Finance team to support monthly payroll.

Provide timely and accurate reports and insights
Work alongside the Head of People to develop and implement our approach to HR

Maintain up to date information on current employment legislation, communicating changes through policy and internal communications.

Work alongside the Head of People to continually evolve our People practices to provide the best experience for all and help achieve our charitable mission and strategy

Optimising the use and impact of our digital HR system
Provide support to the Board of Trustees

Arrange and coordinate Board meetings and Annual General Meetings.

Work with the Chief Executive to prepare and circulate papers for Board meetings.

Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development and training of Trustees.
-
Liaise with Trustees, responding to requests for information.

Support the implementation of Charitable Governance processes and legal compliance

Act as the primary contact for office visitors and mail

Organize and maintain office filing systems, both electronic and paper-based

Manage office, kitchen, and bathroom supply inventories, placing orders as needed to ensure stock availability

Undertake routine health and safety responsibilities, including:

Weekly, monthly, and quarterly internal fire and legionella checks

Conducting H&S inductions with new staff
-
Supporting external contractors during visits
-
Maintain a tidy, welcoming, and safe office environment.

Person specification
Qualifications
Desirable: Relevant qualification (e.g. CIPD level 3 or 5) or higher education in a relevant subject
Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience working in a People/HR role
- Experience of conducting DBS/PVG checks and safer recruitment practices
- Experience with digital HR systems
Desirable:
- Designing and implementing HR systems and processes
- Previous involvement in health and safety checks and procedures
- Working with a charitable organisation supporting governance and the board of trustees
- Experience as a Company Secretary
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of core HR processes including recruitment
- Working knowledge of UK employment law
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,Teams, Sharepoint) and confidence in learning new systems
Desirable
- Knowledge of employee, casual worker, freelancer, volunteer and trustee relationships and legal differences
- Knowledge of UK GDPR and how to protect and manage data
