Core Purpose
The Wish Referral Officer is responsible for processing new referrals and stewarding the wish child and their application through the initial stages of their wish journey, whilst providing excellent stakeholder management. A Wish Referral Officer is responsible for facilitating and managing a large network of relationships such as the wish child and their family, medical professionals, charities, volunteers and referral partners. As each wish is unique, accurate record keeping, data privacy and safeguarding are essential for every wish and experience. This role requires the ability to work at a high pace while maintaining strong attention to detail, with data management and accuracy forming core aspects of day-to-day responsibilities.

Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role you will need:

• Experience in an administrative role

Key Responsibilities:
Referral Enablement

• Process new referrals submitted by Community Referral Partners, health and social care professionals, ensuring accurate data entry, and excellent stakeholder management both through both written and verbal communication.
• Proactively manage a dynamic caseload of 150–200 wishes at any given time, ensuring each wish application progresses efficiently through the various stages of the wish journey in alignment with established referral targets and service timelines. This includes monitoring progress, identifying and resolving potential delays, maintaining accurate records, and self-allocating new referrals in line with organisational priorities
• Take ownership of the weekly coordination and distribution of wish referral materials, ensuring all communications and resources are prepared, reviewed, and delivered accurately and on time to key stakeholders—including Community Referral Partners, wish families, and internal teams—to support a seamless and consistent referral process.
• Monitor and maintain the accuracy and integrity of data across internal systems to ensure full compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), data protection regulations, and organisational protocols. This includes conducting regular data audits, identifying and correcting discrepancies, and working collaboratively with internal teams to uphold high standards of data quality, which are essential for effective decision-making, reporting, and service delivery.
• Collaborate with the Wish Discovery Coordinator to facilitate the effective involvement of Make-A-Wish UK volunteers, ensuring families receive the support they need throughout the wish experience. This includes coordinating volunteer assignments, arranging interpreter services where required, and promoting a seamless, inclusive, and supportive journey for every wish family.
• Ensure all referral processes, service level agreements (SLAs), and Make-A-Wish UK eligibility criteria are consistently followed, maintaining full compliance with organisational policies and procedures. This includes accurately assessing referral information against eligibility requirements, escalating any concerns, queries, or ambiguities to the appropriate team or line manager for review, and ensuring all decisions are documented and communicated clearly. Additionally, maintain strong communication with stakeholders to ensure clarity around eligibility decisions and support a fair, transparent referral process.
• Ensure the principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are always reflected within the wish process.
• Support the Wish Referral Team Manager and Wish Referral Lead and Make-A-Wish UK in achieving our goal to reach every eligible child within the UK.

Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the first point of contact for all Wish Granting (WG)–related queries and enquiries, responding promptly and professionally via email, phone, WhatsApp, and post. Ensure that all stakeholders—including wish families, volunteers, and referral partners—receive a high-quality, compassionate, and consistent customer service experience
• Ensure accurate communications with referral partners, wish children and their families/guardians, employees, and volunteers in relation to wish applications.  
• Ensure that our service level agreements are met, and stakeholder expectations are sensitively and professionally managed in line with our policies.
• Liaise with other charity partners to assess whether referred wish children meet Make-A-Wish UK’s eligibility criteria. Where referrals do not meet the criteria, collaborate with the Wish Referral Partner Manager to ensure that referrers receive clear, constructive feedback and gain a full understanding of Make-A-Wish UK’s eligibility requirements, supporting transparent and informed referral practices.

Systems and Processes:

• Collaborate with the Wish Referral Team Manager to identify and implement improvements to the wish journey experience, ensuring it is seamless, inclusive, and positive for all stakeholders. Contribute feedback, insights, and suggestions to enhance processes, communication, and overall service delivery in line with organisational goal
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within our CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring data integrity and consistency, at all times.
• Follow internal processes to ensure wish children and their families move through the wish journey smoothly, and always in line with our service level agreements.
• Actively participate and engage in project work, providing constructive insights and ideas to enhance the wish journey for every wish child.

Safeguarding and Data Governance:

• Ensure all wish records and related data are stored and maintained on Make-A-Wish Information Systems and that all data is managed within set policies and procedures (such as data privacy, liability, consent forms, marketing permissions etc.)
• Facilitate a culture of safeguarding awareness. Identify, report and escalate any issues or concerns in line with organisational processes and procedures.
• Raise safeguarding concerns and complete relevant internal procedure

Royal Medical Benevolent Fund (RMBF) provide advice and financial assistance in the form of grants at times of crisis and hardship.  Our work is funded through a combination of donations, legacies and returns on our investments.

The Head of Finance & IT will manage the relationships with the three investment managers and the outsourced IT providers.  It is a varied role, combining the strategic with the hands-on.  It will suit a versatile individual who is happy to transition between multiple tasks.  No two days will be the same.  One moment you might be writing or reviewing Board papers, the next you might be managing an IT support call and then later on you might be rolling up your sleeves to post the final journal entries to complete the management accounts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Finance

• Accurate, timely and user-friendly management accounts, cash flow projections and other relevant financial information, with associated recommendations where appropriate
• An annual budget and accompanying management commentary
• Draft statutory accounts which meet the latest SORP requirements, producing the audit file and being the lead contact for the Fund’s auditors during the annual external audit
• Full compliance with UK charity and company financial regulations; and appropriate financial controls in place and complied with
• The development and keeping up to date of a Finance department handbook, covering finance policies, practices and procedures
• Successful leadership and development of the finance team
• The development of, and assistance with the implementation of, financial strategies to enable the Fund to achieve its long-term goals
• Support The Finance Committee’s investment management and monitor the Investment managers’ performance
• Managing the payroll function (outsourced)
• Managing the relationship with the pension scheme provider and staff salary sacrifice arrangements.

Information Technology

• Responsible for the development and implementation of the RMBF’s Information Technology strategy
• Management and development of an accurate, up to date, user-friendly database to provide relevant information to support all areas of the RMBF’s work including casework, fundraising and communications
• Cost effective development and use of IT within the Fund, to enable staff to make good use of IT for communication, record keeping and management information
• Managing the relationship with the Fund’s outsourced IT support companies.

Person Specification

• Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience
• Good understanding of charity SORP
• Experienced in preparing charity statutory accounts
• Experienced in charity investment management; good understanding of charity investment and restricted funds
• Good understanding of stakeholder pension and latest regulatory requirement
• IT literate including database management and development and an advanced user of the Microsoft Office package
• Good communication skills to be able to deliver a presentation to the stakeholders and manage business relationships with investment managers, IT providers, bankers and auditors as well as internally with department managers
• Experience in team management
• HR knowledge to be able to deputise for CEO in his absence

With line management responsibility of the Finance Officer, you will be an accredited qualified accountant, preferably with non-profit sector experience, with the ability to lead on the financial management of the organisation.

The Finance Manager is accountable for:

• Financial strategy and planning

The successful candidate will:

• Be an efficient, highly organised team player with good communication skills, working effectively with internal colleagues, external stakeholders and suppliers of varying financial experience.

• An accredited qualified accountant (ACCA) (CIMA) or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably within the non-profit sector
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Sage 50, Quickbooks and/or another similar accounting software

We are now seeking a strategic, values-led Director of Finance to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation.

Salary: £72,000 – £77,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Location: Godstone, Surrey (onsite with some flexibility)

About the Role

You’ll lead the financial strategy, planning and operations for the Orpheus Centre, ensuring sustainability, transparency and compliance while enabling innovation and growth. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Trustees and senior leaders, you will:

• Provide strategic financial leadership and insight to drive organisational success.
• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and audit.
• Ensure compliance with The Charity Commission, HMRC and Companies House regulations.
• Lead on procurement, risk management and digital transformation in finance systems.
• Manage investments and oversee capital and operational budgets.
• Lead and develop a small, high-performing finance team.

This is a hands-on and highly influential role for someone who thrives on both strategic planning and operational excellence.

About You

You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant experience in senior financial leadership — ideally within the charity and/or education sector.

You will bring:

• Strong understanding of charity SORP, financial governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience working with Boards and governance structures.
• Proven ability to deliver strategic financial planning and risk management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills.

We're looking for a dynamic, community focused manager to lead our Hub operations, staff and volunteers. You'll shape service, connect wityh local groups and ensure the highest standards of hospitality and care. As the manager, you will report to the Trustees and have the opportunity to develop the centre to cater for needs in the community.

About Planet Patrol

Our vision is a world where all beings can enjoy our waterways, free from pollution. We are a global community dedicated to placing people-powered environmental data at the heart of decision-making. Through our unique anywhere, anytime, anybody approach to citizen science, we gather critical evidence of water and litter pollution to drive solutions that protect both environmental and human health. Our data and citizen science methods have been featured in academic journals (Stanton, et al., 2022) and media investigations (Channel 4 and ITV), enhancing public and scientific knowledge of litter pollution.

About the role

As Director, you will oversee daily operations, including forecasting and budgeting for the entire organisation (currently c£300K per annum). As such, you will lead on developing a sustainable funding stream for our mission-driven work, ensuring we maintain a 6-month runway at all times. You will build and maintain strong external relationships to help grow and develop the organisation. The Director will provide leadership to a small, remote team (4 x PAYE) and create a happy, sustainable and productive work environment. Most importantly, the Director will ensure objectives are being met - both personal and organisational - to deliver impactful, positive change for our waterways in the UK, and abroad. 

About you

The successful candidate will be a strong leader who excels at strategic thinking, with the natural ability to analyse situations and relationships to maximise impact and return on investment. They will have experience in line management, fundraising and financial management. We are seeking candidates who have experience in senior management in a non-profit setting, ideally within the environmental sector but not essential. Critically, you must thrive in a start-up environment and have a can-do attitude to problem solving. You’ll be one of only a handful of employees and a team of excellent freelancers, so being a team player is a must! Key Responsibilities

Funding Development + Stakeholder Relationships (40%): 

• Significant responsibility for successful contractual negotiations and maintaining a healthy new funding pipeline. Secure six-to-seven figure funding opportunities to provide a sustainable revenue stream for 3+ years. 
• Strategic understanding and experience of competitive and fast changing charitable financial landscape. 
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with funders and other voluntary sector organisations.
• Ensure we are suitably represented at appropriate meetings, events, conferences, management groups etc. and that issues that impact our work are raised appropriately. 

Operational Leadership including Compliance + Budgetary Control (30%): 

• Effective leadership driving business operations and strategic targets. Inspire teams to deliver high-quality programmes and foster a culture of creativity and innovation. 
• Draw up and monitor budgets, with support from the Founder and Team Leaders, and ensure effective management and use of all resources. Ensure maximum operational efficiency and maintain a six-month runway at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the Founder and Team Leaders to build annual Business Plans and long term strategies for the organisation.
• Ensure compliance across product / project delivery, finance, human resources, IT, legal, health and safety, customer services and facilities management. Ensure that all data is collated and managed in line with data protection requirements.
• Maintain and develop effective human resource systems for the recruitment, management, support, training, and appraisal of staff and volunteers. Ensure systems are in place to monitor and evaluate the work. 

Team + Performance Management (30%): 

• Build high-performing, committed teams. This includes line managing, coaching, and supporting team members to create a positive, productive work environment. 
• Oversee the team to deliver comprehensive planning and reporting.
• Set benchmarks, monitor performance, and develop a culture of continuous improvement. 
• Proactively manage the performance of Team Leaders by carrying out inductions, regular accountability meetings, supervisions, and probation reviews, while also setting clear work and development objectives.

Person Specification

Essential Experience and Ability

• Senior management experience working within a small charity or Community Interest Company (CIC).
• Track record of driving operational excellence, including organisational finances and resources.
• Experience of line management, team development and performance management.
• Experience of securing sustainable and diverse revenue streams; including  multi-year, strategic deals worth six-and-seven figures. 
• Proactive approach to risk management and maintaining compliance.
• Experience in a strategic role, including developing organisational strategy and/or developing and overseeing monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to effectively prioritise, manage and oversee programmes of work across the organisation and lead through change. 
• Ability to work under own initiative, delegate where appropriate, prioritise work and meet strict deadlines. 
• Good general IT skills and appreciation of new platforms that can increase efficiency and effectiveness (Slack, Trello, Canva, Dext, Xero, HubSpot, SenseHR).
• Broad understanding of GDPR and other essential legislation and organisational policies, including use of AI.
• Passionate about the environment and the importance of citizen science.
• A commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.
• Legal right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Brief role description

The Employment Advisor - Families will provide holistic employment and training advice and guidance to a diverse caseload of military partners/spouses (both serving and veteran), supporting their personal development and enhancing employability skills until they achieve their desired outcomes. The role is Home-based  with community outreach and travel through Glasgow covering Scotland area.

​The role part of Families programme, where the programme offers 1:1 virtual and face-to-face sessions, in-person group workshops, access to employer events, apprenticeships, digital upskilling, and corporate mentoring.

As part of effective case management, they will: assess individual needs, identify any challenges and barriers and create effective action plans, following the FEC policies, procedures, and Work Instructions.
