This role is key to ensuring the Army Cadets can communicate well with the volunteer community and that national level events are correctly supported.

This position is a permanent full-time post (40 hours per week) which will be home-based. However, regular travel across the UK attend events and meetings will be required.  The starting salary for the post will be £29,644.00 per annum.

ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. Job Profile

CAFOD’s mission in the Catholic community of England and Wales is to inspire and equip Catholics to actively engage in the Church’s efforts to overcome poverty and injustice. Our regional teams focus on recruiting and supporting a dedicated group of volunteers within parish and school communities, empowering them to educate, engage, and inspire others to act in solidarity for the common good. Regional teams also collaborate with clergy and other representatives across the Catholic community to ensure CAFOD’s volunteer programme is aligned with faith life.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide administrative and communications support to the Community Participation Coordinators across England and Wales, with a focus on the West & Wales region as the first point of contact. Role description

As our philanthropy coordinator, you will play a key role in building new partnerships with philanthropists and high-net-worth individuals, with an immediate focus on the UK, US, and Europe. You will design and implement a comprehensive strategy to build a robust portfolio of individual donors, Family Foundations, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and other personal giving vehicles. 

A proactive and thoughtful relationship builder, you will maintain long-term relationships and lead bold strategies to engage new audiences, including millennial and next-generation philanthropists. You will steward Open Briefing’s first global development board, working closely with our CEO and director of development to engage members around a dynamic programme of activities designed to make Open Briefing more fundable and findable. 

Together with our director of development, you will drive forward a multi-year fundraising strategy to resource our work with activists and organisations on the frontlines of human rights, social justice, and environmental action. 

Your primary responsibilities will include: 

• Designing and executing our philanthropy fundraising strategy. Lead a strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) —including through Donor Advised Funds, Family Offices, Family Foundations, and other giving vehicles—with an immediate focus on the US, UK and Europe. 

• Prospecting and donor acquisition. Manage HNWI prospecting, generate new leads, develop solicitation plans, brief senior leadership in advance of meetings, and coordinate cultivation and networking opportunities.

• Stewardship and relationship management. Build strong relationships with existing and potential donors through tailored stewardship plans designed to grow income over time. Manage donor tracking and communication systems. 

• Nurture and grow our development board - Work alongside our director of development and CEO to identify and engage members and steward the Board through a 12-month action-orientated development campaign. 

• Budget Management. Manage a programme budget for cultivation and stewardship events and activities.

• Collaboration and Communication. Work closely with our communications coordinator, director of development and programme teams in the production and dissemination of donor-relevant reports, updates and other content; and contribute to the conception and organisation of donor-facing online and in-person events.

Essential 

• You will have extensive experience managing a HNWI or major gift portfolio. 

• You will have a proven track-record of personally securing four, five, or six-figure donations from HNWI and/or major gift donors in the UK, US and/or Europe. 

• You will have experience working within a nonprofit focused on human rights, social justice, and/or environmental action. 

• You will have excellent verbal communication skills, including English language skills, both spoken and written. 

• You will have experience working with senior stakeholders and board members to support fundraising activities.

Terms and remuneration

Job Title: Director of Fundraising

Job Summary

To drive development of CEM’s fundraising strategy and oversee its implementation. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Identifying the most fruitful new avenues of funding from a range of Christian cultures, including individual donors, trusts and grant-making bodies
• Identifying new fundraising methods, including digital campaigns and social media outreach, to broaden and diversify our donor base
• Strengthen connections with new networks to tap into underutilised funding streams.
• Running appeals and legacy campaigns
• Creating clear briefing materials for comms staff and senior teams to help them engage with donors at all levels — from small ad hoc donations to our largest grant-making partners. Ensuring that appropriate tailored approaches are used for different cultures and church traditions
• Co-manage the Communications Officer to produce emails, newsletters and other communications assets which effectively engage potential donors
• Work closely with our founder, Rico Tice, and our CEO, to help the CEM team grow supporter donations 
• Seek out and develop relationships with new high-capacity donors
• Tell the global story of CEM’s impact to inspire and mobilise a broader, more diverse donor community

Key duties and responsibilities

• Be accountable for increasing funding to CEM by an agreed amount each year. 
• Create a clear and effective fundraising strategy and communicate it well to the rest of the CEM team.
• Bring experience and best practice to CEM’s fundraising efforts, to help us build a culture of fundraising.
• Future-proof the organisation to build the foundation for secure long-term funding
• Oversee implementation of the fundraising strategy, including briefing comms staff and reviewing materials before they’re released.
• Support global hub Directors to develop sustainable in-country fundraising strategies, and be responsible for coordinating global fundraising efforts to ensure that all teams are working collaboratively.

Person specification

The Director of Fundraising will need to demonstrate a track record of success in increasing organisational funding — this is not a skillset CEM currently has and we will be relying on the successful candidate to bring a robust knowledge of best practice. We are looking for a strategic thinker who will bring clarity and simplicity to our fundraising efforts, targeting donors wisely and treating them with respect.

CEM is a very relational organisation which operates with a high level of consensus. While staff are not afraid of conflict, or of making clear decisions where there are differences of opinion, we expect team members to work hard to listen to each other and see the value and wisdom in different viewpoints.

The person appointed will have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment. An occupational requirement exists for the post-holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

The Finance Manager is responsible to the Executive Director and responsible for:

1. Ensure Financial Sustainability—Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization's long-term sustainability, aligning budgets with the charity's mission and strategic goals.
2. Strengthen Financial Governance and Compliance - Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, charity law, and donor requirements, including timely preparation of statutory accounts and audit processes.
3. Enhance Financial Planning and Budgeting - Lead the annual budgeting process and long-term financial planning, providing accurate forecasting, financial modelling, and scenario planning to support leadership decisions.
4. Optimise Resource Allocation - Provide insight and analysis to guide the efficient use of funds, ensuring that resources are directed to the most impactful programs and services.
5. Develop Transparent Financial Reporting—To build trust and demonstrate accountability, deliver timely and transparent financial reports to stakeholders, including the ED, trustees, donors, and regulators.
6. Support Fundraising and Donor Stewardship - Partner with fundraising teams to manage restricted funds, track grant expenditures, and support financial reporting to funders, ensuring alignment with donor expectations.
7. Promote Financial Literacy and Capacity building - Build financial awareness and capacity across the organization by training non-financial staff and ensuring budget holders understand and manage their financial responsibilities effectively.
8. Risk Management and Contingency Planning - Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies, including establishing reserves and contingency plans for economic uncertainties or funding shortfalls.

ECHO supports children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who have been treated within the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS network of 47 hospitals. Congenital heart disease is the most common birth defect and affects just under 1 in every 100 babies born throughout the UK.

ECHO helps from diagnosis, which is often during pregnancy, throughout any treatment and care pathway or bereavement. Families are supported at every stage of their heart child’s journey throughout childhood, teenage years and during the transition to adult services.

ECHO’s new Engagement Coordinator will be confident, self-motivated, and capable of managing projects independently. They will be responsible for building strong relationships with stakeholders, coordinating engagement activities, and ensuring these are executed successfully.

The role requires a proactive, flexible, results-orientated individual with a passion for creating meaningful connections and working autonomously to achieve goals. You will lead with a “Make it Happen” approach to benefit the families we support in the children’s cardiology network connected to the Evelina London, Royal Brompton, and Harefield hospital networks (47 hospitals).

Lead and coordinate engagement activities: Plan, execute, and manage engagement strategies, events, and initiatives that drive interaction with our community (fundraisers, families, professionals, volunteers, and staff).

Develop strong relationships: Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with internal and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration, knowing when and how to ask for support and help.

Negotiate discounts, freebies, and special moments for children, young people, and families.

Present to anyone who wants to hear about ECHO, whether a small team in an office, a school assembly of 500, or an away day for lawyers or doctors. You will design the resources you need on a shoestring budget with limited time but deliver an impactful and memorable presentation.

Bring organisation to the team and operations through admin with a can-do approach.

· Galvanise support by identifying opportunities, persuading people to get on board and following through to secure trust and buy-in

· Develop a GREAT supporter journey for everyone who donates to us, helping them to maximise opportunities to raise money and spread the word about ECHO.

· Provide reliable and time-critical information and be a go-to person for our community, for example:

    o  A team of runners taking part in an event.

    o  A team of medical professionals helping with our information resources.

    o  Stories for social media.

· People, presentations, and engagement – confidently stepping up to present, walking into groups with ease, and engaging people naturally and enthusiastically.

· Bringing energy, charisma, and a proactive approach to every interaction – from chatting with families to speaking at events or engaging new supporters.
