Job description

As the Schools Project Officer you will further develop the Lambeth Young Carers’ Schools Project.Funded by the Walcot Foundation, our young carers schools project aims to reduce the negative impacts of caring on young carers’ education, thereby increasing the opportunities to reach their potential.  The project has 3 core elements:

  • A programme of awareness raising in schools targeting both staff and pupils, delivered through assemblies and workshops for school staff.
  • A programme of peer support groups taking place in schools to enable young carers to connect with others in the same situation and share their experiences in a supported environment, reducing their sense of isolation and creating the opportunity for new friendships to develop.
  • Intensive one to one support with a cohort of young carers who have the highest levels of need.

The project works with secondary school children aged 11 - 16 who are from low income households.

If you are looking for a fast paced, rewarding project that will make a lasting difference to young carers, we would love to hear from you.
