From our early days when we campaigned to introduce donor cards in the UK, we have worked hard to support and represent the interests of everyone affected by this lifelong condition. About the role
You will provide key inbound referral management and administrative support to the Money & Energy Advisers and within our Patient Support Services team for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living.
To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with people living with kidney disease and affected by kidney disease, professionals and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the day-to-day administration and allocation of inbound referrals into the Money & Energy Advice service across the region, effectively managing initial contact, appointments and assistance for food / fuel vouchers and other grant service administration.
• Update and maintain manual and computerised database and case management systems and records in accordance with the service’s internal policies/procedures and organisational standards.
• Collate and supply information and correspondence to internal and external contacts in accordance with required deadlines.
• Liaise with referring agencies to improve referral information and the general referral process for patients.
• Act as a gateway to local information and access to:
◌ Kidney Care UK patient grants programme, raising awareness of the programme and supporting applications.
◌ Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy service, to ensure patients have access to reliable and accurate patient information relating to kidney disease, patient pathways, models of care, and patient choice.
◌ Kidney Care UK Counselling service and other appropriate services to meet patients’ emotional and physiological needs.
• Work closely with local Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to ensure that patients receive expert advice in all areas of need, with smooth, effective handovers ensuring that patients feel supported and part of the Kidney Care UK ‘family’ at all times.
• Maintain records on the Kidney Care UK database to support service delivery and communications with patients, and to facility effective reporting to Kidney Care UK and to our funders.
• Raise awareness of Kidney Care UK and the benefit of its full range of Patient Support Services amongst people living with disease and affected by kidney disease and professionals across the region.
• Provide insight on patients’ concerns and unmet needs to inform Kidney Care UK research, campaigns, and new service development activity.
• Work in a way that respects the personal, social, cultural and spiritual needs of the individual and maintains the confidentiality of information they may have shared with you.

The BNSSG VCSE Alliance exists to enable diverse VCSE organisations to engage and participate in system-wide changes to health and care services. We are seeking a VCSE Brokerage Manager to lead the development of a Brokerage Framework, which will provide a clear, fair, inclusive and proportionate way for health and social care system partners to reach VCSE organisations.
About Us
The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) VCSE Alliance launched in January 2024. It aims to influence and facilitate greater collaboration between the regional health system (BNSSG Integrated Care System) and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE). It seeks to do this by enhancing the role of the VCSE sector in the delivery and transformation of wellbeing and health, and cementing our sector’s role as a key strategic partner in the planning, design and delivery of health and care, in its widest possible definition.
The co-design of a new ‘VCSE Brokerage Framework’ with colleagues from the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and System (ICS) is a key priority for the VCSE Alliance in 2024-25. The intention is for it to be a new process by which grants and opportunities can be distributed to the sector.

The Role
The VCSE Brokerage Manager’s role is to lead on the further development, piloting, and preparation for launch of the Brokerage Framework. Ensuring that diverse VCSE organisations, from micro to large scale and that serve communities of interest, of place and of practice are included and enabled in the brokerage framework will be crucial to the success of this role.

Oldham Poverty Action Network Coordinator
The role
The post holder for this role will be responsible for co-ordinating the work of the Oldham Poverty Action Network and leading on bringing the Network members together, leading on the co-ordination of the key projects and programmes that tackle the root causes of Poverty in Oldham, ensuring that local people, community organisations and institutions can collaborate through the Network to achieve the Network’s shared vision. The successful post holder will provide high-quality support to the Head of FP&A and will ensure the delivery of timely and accurate financial planning and reporting processes across all of the organisation
Job Responsibilities:
- Leading, motivating and managing the Management Accounting and Analysis team to provide a consistent and high-quality financial planning and analysis service, including 4 direct deports and 4 indirect reports
- Ensuring the delivery of timely, insightful and accurate financial reporting
- Driving an agenda of continual improvement and innovation, keeping pace with developments in best practice
- Responsible for grant management and reporting activities, acting as Finance Lead for all grant streams
- Ensure that clear and consistent processes and procedures are in place for different grant streams and providing support to the programme and grant directors
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, Finance Director, Deputy FDs, Head of Financial Accounting & Operations as well as key internal and external stakeholders
- Report to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, deputising as required and providing support and cover for one another as needed
Person Specification:
- CCAB/ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional accounting body qualification with significant PQE in a similar role (Essential)
- Experience of financial planning and analysis covering all aspects of budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Knowledge and experience of grant accounting and grant management
- Experience of implementing financial reporting and planning tools
- Not for profit sector expereince within a large and complex organisation

We are looking to recruit a Director of Programmes, Partnerships and Advocacy to lead a team of high-performing programme and partnerships managers who guide our relationships with a portfolio of 45 local partners, supporting them in their social witness through a £2.4m programme of grants, and capacity support.
The Director will also lead the development of our advocacy work, collaborating closely with the CEO and Director of Fundraising to develop our policies, messaging and strategy to increase our reach through effective lobbying and campaigning consistent with our theory of change, and strategic vision and mission. This cross-cutting work will include working with our programme team, our communications team, and church engagement team as part of a shared approach to advocacy, campaigning, and public engagement.
Advocacy is a growing part of our work, inspired and guided by the voices of our partners – primarily speaking and acting in relation to:
- the presence and role of Christians in the Middle East
- issues of peace, justice and equal rights in Israel and Palestine
- refugees and internally displaced people across the Middle East
Informed by Christian voices from the Middle East, we engage with Bishops and church leaders, politicians, and with our engagement team seek to educate and mobilise the UK public. Resources will be available for the Director to recruit a dedicated advocacy team member to complement their skills and support them and the team to achieve Embrace’s advocacy aspirations.
We are looking for someone who can bring to Embrace a wealth of international development partnership and grant making experience, alongside their passion and skills to drive and develop Embrace’s public and private advocacy. Like everyone else at Embrace you will be fired up by our mission, and in tune with our values.
Naturally, you will be well versed in complex policy issues within sensitive settings, familiar with acting as a media spokesperson, and dedicated to engaging with communities experiencing injustice and marginalisation.
