We’re looking for a part-time Senior Operations Manager with extensive operational, business, Health & Safety, IT and HR experience. A member of the Senior Management Team, this person will play a vital role in enabling Time & Talents to deliver our strategy, maintain best practice and develop robust long-term plans.

What we do

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, SE16.  Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects.

T&T has grown substantially over the last 5 years, and we are in an exciting time for the charity. We are reviewing our long-term aims and changing local needs to ensure  programme delivery continues our extensive track record of positive outcomes. We also need to review our current contracted provision and best practices in the charity’s business and operations.

The Welcome Centre is an independent charity providing crisis support in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. We run a large food bank operation providing practical support. As Senior Evaluation Manager, you will have an important role, providing technical expertise to ensure the right data is collected during implementation to help evaluate impact in the longer-term. • Working with programme and Innovation teams to support the development of programme/project specific monitoring and evaluation plans, theories of change and results frameworks. • Leading on design and implementation of evaluations that assess organisational and specific programme/project level relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability, social and economic impact.
• Designing evaluation approaches and methodologies, data collection instruments and analysis frameworks.
• Leading on tender processes, where evaluations or components of them are to outsourced and manage delivery ensuring the work is delivered according to agreed timelines and meets user needs.
• Facilitating learning by supporting programme and Innovation managers and teams to reflect on and learn from evaluation findings.

The successful candidate will be experienced in monitoring and evaluating interventions with a focus on undertaking process evaluations, measuring outcomes and impact using a variety of methodologies and techniques. You will have the ability to lead on design, delivery and implementation of monitoring and evaluation for project and programmes and have familiarity with handling data protection protocols, ensuring data security and ethical considerations. A high level of experience in report writing is also crucial, as are exceptional written and oral skills, including the ability to present complex information in simplified form for non-technical audiences.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.  

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales. 

Central to this is the evaluation team.  The team is responsible for commissioning and monitoring complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.

The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in supporting the Assistant Director of Evaluation to lead elements of evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of two Evaluation Managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects. 

Key responsibilities 

The core of your job is to ensure that we are excellent at evaluation, so we can find out the best ways to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence. 

Evaluation 

Working with the Head of Evaluation the post holder will: 

• Implement the processes to assess the quality of evidence presented in funding applications and provide funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee. 

• Shape the evaluation approach for individual grant rounds, including leading on this for a small number of rounds. 

• Provide technical expertise on evaluation to the team and lead the development of YEF’s thinking on one or more areas of evaluation. 

• Lead the delivery of YEF’s evaluation work, designing, commissioning and managing complex and large-scale evaluations. 

• Be responsible for YEF’s evaluation policies and reporting templates, ensuring they remain consistent and fit for purpose. 

• Be responsible for the ongoing development of YEF’s commissioning guidance. 

Team management 

The post holder will likely lead the recruitment, management and development of a team of Evaluation Officers and will: 

• Ensure they have the knowledge, skills and support to carry out their work effectively. 

• Provide regular feedback and coaching on written outputs. 

• Supervise and project manage the team’s evaluation work, providing quality assurance and monitoring of progress against project plans and project budgets. 

Collaborative working 

The post holder will contribute to the wider YEF team and will: 

• Be accountable to YEF’s Fund Leadership Team for the delivery of evaluations, making sure they are on time and on budget, including reporting on risks and issues. 

• Work closely with colleagues across YEF and specifically the Programme team. 

• Ensure high-quality evidence is at the heart of all YEF activity and that the evidence we produce is communicated in a clear and accessible way which will drive sustainable change. 

• Support the management of YEF’s panel of evaluators and expert panel. 

General 

The post holder may be involved in other elements of YEF's projects, working with senior colleagues to commission, scope and deliver projects. 

About you 

You are this sort of person:

• You have strong knowledge, experience and technical expertise in evaluation methodologies including the ability to critically appraise the design of a variety of different evaluation designs. 

• You have quantitative analysis skills including experience of using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS. 

• You have significant experience in carrying out or commissioning research including designing all aspects of the research and managing external contractors.  This may be in academia, government or a related sector. 

• You have strong relationship management skills. You are comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners, and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenge when required.

Role: Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager
Reporting to: Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager
Purpose of job: To work as a key part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, line managed by the Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, and accountable to the Museum’s Director. This role will bring in vital income from trusts, foundations, corporate partners and individuals to deliver the business plan. This role has responsibility for achieving income targets by collaborating across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support.
Working pattern: 35 hours per week, usually worked from 10 – 6pm. Flexible/hybrid working offered for up 40% of hours to be worked from home.
Contract: Permanent
Salary: c£36,000-38,000 depending on experience

Who we are looking for:

Key objectives in first 6 months:

• Established position as a trusted and valued colleague within the Museum team

Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Identification, Communication and Cultivation

• Identify, research and develop a pipeline of trusts and foundations prospects, ensuring that relationships are well managed and planned for first, second and third requests for funding, as appropriate.
• Identify, research and approach corporate partnership prospects to support agreed priorities such as exhibitions and programmes
• Work closely with colleagues in Events, Commercial and Communications to promote corporate sponsorship packages, including working on communications and campaigns that encourage uptake and renewal
• Crafting compelling and engaging letters, proposals and applications to potential and existing supporters
• Collate social impact statistics and create an internal bank of resources that communicate our work articulately and passionately

The Philanthropy & Partnerships team
In Autumn 2023, Foundling Museum delivered a successful, ambitious capital campaign to secure the future of the Museum through a variety of supporters, from individuals, major supporters and trusts/foundations.
The Philanthropy team is responsible for the funding revenue needs of the Museum, which for 2024-25 is c£800,000, making up approximately 36% of total income.
The post of Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager will deliver against personal targets toward this goal. Remaining income includes Arts Council England National Portfolio funding, NLHF funding, core earned income (admissions) and trading activities (retail and venue hire).
The Philanthropy and Partnerships team collaborates closely with the Director, Chair of Trustees and Development Consultants and across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support. Across a year the team raises vital income for exhibitions, learning and participation activities, events, capital projects, an established endowment fund and unrestricted revenue income.

As part of this we are seeking a passionate, dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Diocesan Net Zero Carbon Project & Engagement Lead to help us achieve our environmental commitments with respect to decarbonising our residential property portfolio and church buildings.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Influencing and supporting parishes to prepare and deliver their NZC action plans relating to their buildings.

· Support the Property Team to develop and implement a comprehensive NZC action plan for clergy housing.

· Developing relationships with technical specialists and potential funding agencies.

· Managing relationships and communications with a wide range of other stakeholders.

· Managing headline project data and tracking progress against the project delivery plan and providing regular, timely reports highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.

· Ensuring all relevant risks are identified and mitigation actions are in place.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills include:

· Degree or equivalent (with a project management and/or a qualification relevant to NZC being desirable).

· Extensive experience of leading, co-ordinating and delivering complex projects;

· Experience of managing multiple stakeholder types in a complex programme context.

· Up-to-date knowledge of environmental and climate change issues.

· Strong knowledge of project management techniques and processes, including governance, plan management, budget, risk, and issue management. ·

To support this new strategy and to develop our fundraising further, we are now looking for a proactive and experienced grants fundraiser to join our Development and Corporate Partnerships Team on a 12-month contract in a new and pivotal role.  During this initial 12 months you will be working to develop and implement a new plan which will significantly increase funding for our core scientific research from research bodies and other funding sources, develop support for our sustainability projects, and secure new institutional and government funding for our national education programmes.

Reporting into the Head of Trusts and Statutory Funding and based either at our headquarters in London, or at RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey, you will work closely with our science and education departments, collaorating with colleagues to develop a strong pipeline of sustainable and long-term funding for our programmes, core activities and new initiatives.  You will be familiar with fundraising for scientific research and other core programmes and be able to utilise your existing experience and networks across a broad range of funding sectors.

Project Finance Officer | London - Hybrid | Permanent | £46,000 - £48-000 + Benefits

For a global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Finance Officer. Reporting to the Project Finance Manager, this role will run efficient programme financial accounting, financial management and financial reporting processes for donor funded programmes and grants. This role will support the full life cycle of grants, from donor proposal to final reporting and will work closely with Finance and Programme teams as well as in-country staff, partner agencies and external Donors.

What you'll be doing:

• Financial planning, and financial management for grant funded programmes
• Monitoring budgets, cash-flow, and donor compliance reporting
• Maintaining the grant tracker, cost recovery process and cash balance management
• Preparing monthly performance dashboard reports and quarterly cash balance reports for grant programmes
• Working with in-country teams to ensure effective grants management and compliance i.e., ensuring all grants are recorded and monitored, and that grant codes are correctly set up
• Reviewing proposal budgets, liaising with the Programmes team, ensuring compliance with donor requirements
• Timely submission of cash requests for Donor contracts and sub-grant agreements
• Preparing donor sub-grant agreements with field units, and partners
• Supporting the preparation and follow-up of internal and external grant audits
• Training and capacity building sessions for in-country teams

This role will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. Line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target, and working with the programmes teams in the UK, India and Bangladesh to identify and develop applications to statutory sources and major trusts, leading on the development of detailed project proposals.

It is an exciting time to be coming joining Lepra. We have just completed developing our new multi-year global strategy to take us through to 2030, and to guide our work into the future; and we are using our Centenary year in 2024 as a springboard to launch us into our new strategic period. 2024 is very much a year for looking and planning ahead.
