Working with commissioners and providers, Parents 1st UK also provides consultancy and workshops to help build new perinatal peer support initiatives in communities.
Our local work: Parents 1st Essex currently operates in South and North Essex, delivering perinatal peer support to parents, through 1-1 or group support. Peer supporters engage and develop trusting relationships with parents during pregnancy, continue support through birth and the first few months afterwards.
Alongside this, Parents 1st UK also leads the Essex Peer to Parent Network, a peer support collaborative that aims to develop a hub of good practice across Essex. The Peer to Parent Network employs 4 Peer Support Link Workers who work alongside the local maternity units in Essex, helping parents to access peer support during pregnancy or anytime during the first year after birth.

Key Responsibilities:
1. To lead on running our employability training and Alumni Job Club.
2. To develop workshop structures and learning materials for these in close collaboration with the Development Director and ensure that participant feedback from earlier programmes is incorporated.

Fundraising
- Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
- Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
- Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.
- Design, prepare and implement the agreed activities and campaigns, which are likely to be varied in nature and might include dedicated fundraising events, grant applications to support families in disadvantaged socio-economic groups, and legacy generation.
- Recommend changes and updates to the activities and campaigns based on testing and evidenced data.

Membership
- Design and coordinate an effective system to enhance the membership offer and improve membership renewal and retention.

For a global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Finance Officer. Reporting to the Project Finance Manager, this role will run efficient programme financial accounting, financial management and financial reporting processes for donor funded programmes and grants. This role will support the full life cycle of grants, from donor proposal to final reporting and will work closely with Finance and Programme teams as well as in-country staff, partner agencies and external Donors.
What you'll be doing:
- Financial planning, and financial management for grant funded programmes
- Monitoring budgets, cash-flow, and donor compliance reporting
- Maintaining the grant tracker, cost recovery process and cash balance management
- Preparing monthly performance dashboard reports and quarterly cash balance reports for grant programmes

The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.
We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. Support Dogs trains and provides specialist assistance dog to give 100% reliable advance warning of epileptic seizures; to help children with autism to stay safe and better engage with the world around them. Our disability assistance dogs bring independence and a better quality of life for those with physical disabilities including MS, Cerebral Palsy and Fibromyalgia.
Founded and entirely based in Sheffield our charity operates across the UK, growing significantly over recent years. The demand for our work is overwhelming, with requests for support increasing ten-fold over the past few years. Support Dogs provides all of its services free of charge and relies entirely on voluntary donations for funding.
Funding from trusts and charitable foundations is vital to our charities ability to provide its vital, life saving work. Support Dogs is going through a period of growth and is looking for an experienced fundraiser to provide support to help us to reach further and maximise opportunities as our existing post holder takes maternity leave.

The Role:
The Chief Officer will lead and manage Citizens Advice St Helens (CASH) while developing and implementing strategic and operational plans. Responsible for delivering strategic development through the effective management and development of services, the Chief Officer will build strong and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders at a strategic, national, regional, and local level.
They will work collaboratively with the staff team and board to ensure there is an inclusive, rights-based approach to work that also conforms with the requirements of the Charity Commission, Companies House and HMRC. The Chief Officer is responsible for the economic viability, financial welfare, and sustainability of the charity, as well as driving and nurturing the staff team to continue delivering quality standards across the organisation.
To be considered for the Chief Officer role at CASH, you must be a proven leader and manager with experience working within a senior management team. This role will require someone with a demonstrable track record of innovation and success in business development and income generation, able to engage funding bodies and donors, as well as creating strong and successful content for winning contracts/grants. Your experience will be underpinned by excellent communication skills at both a strategic level within and outside the organisation, coupled with excellent resourcing methods.
In a senior leadership role, it's typical to hold budgetary responsibility and possess broad financial management experience. Considering the nature of Citizens Advice St Helens' work, we expect you to have a comprehensive understanding of the advice sector and experience with equity, diversity, and inclusion best practices. Additionally, you must demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the issues faced by residents in St Helens, such as poverty, unemployment, and health challenges. These issues are not unique to St Helens but are encountered across the UK, and we welcome applications from individuals with experience addressing similar issues in other regions.

Responsibilities:
· Prospect research
o Develop a high degree of awareness of PML’s work, achievements and funding needs
o Research prospective funders via funding directories, online research, and networking
o Liaise with funders to obtain information about funding opportunities
o Alert colleagues to relevant funding opportunities
· Proposal development
o Carry out desk research to gather information in support of funding proposals
o Organise and facilitate project planning meetings with colleagues and partners
o Write and edit compelling funding proposals
o Support the preparation of project budgets
· Donor cultivation
o Support the Head of Fundraising to build relationships with funders via written communications and meetingsface-to-face
· Other duties
o Maintain records on funders and proposals
o Ensure all fundraising activities are carried out in accordance with the Fundraising Code of Practice and relevant regulations such as GDPR
About You (Essential):
- Fundraising experience with a proven track record of grant success.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including active listening and the ability to write clear and compelling prose.
- Highly motivated for the role. Demonstrate strong commitment to PML’s vision, mission and values.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including being personable, tactful, and able to build positive working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including funders.
- Strong analytical skills. Able to recognise funders’ priorities and judge their alignment with PML’s work. Able to think critically and use quantitative and qualitative information to develop compelling cases for support tailored to audiences.
- Strong organisational skills, capable of effectively planning and managing multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Curious to learn and able to quickly grasp new subject matter (i.e., PML’s science).
- Scientifically literate and environmentally aware.
- Sufficient numerical ability and command of spreadsheets to prepare sound project budgets.
- Proficient in MS Office and gathering information from online research.
- Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Desirable:
- Awareness of the philanthropic funding landscape for environmental science.
- Established network within relevant sectors.
