The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) is the professional home for archaeologists in the UK and overseas. We set high standards and benchmark good practice in archaeology to inspire trust in, and respect for, the profession of archaeology. As well as providing training and networks for over 4000 members, we develop and deliver regulated qualifications, accredit undergraduate degree programmes in archaeology and undertake a range of funded projects aimed at supporting the archaeology sector.

We are a fully remote organisation with home-based staff located across the UK. We work collaboratively online using MS Teams, with regular one-to-one, team and project meetings. 

We are looking for a focussed and self-motivated individual to provide administrative support across the professional skills and standards areas of our work. You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, good attention to detail and be confident communicating with stakeholders in a customer facing role. You will be familiar with a range of IT systems, particularly Office365 and be confident using databases and spreadsheets.

About Us:

Strength & Learning Through Horses provides mental health and education support to some of London’s most vulnerable young people through offering equine assisted therapy and alternative education programmes. The organisation’s ability to deliver excellence in its service quality is dependent upon a skilled and competent workforce where learning and continuous improvement is a fundamental aim.

Strength & Learning Through Horses has been in operation for over 10 years and has grown year on year in terms of income and number of young people reached and number of services we offer.

We have 5 full time and 5 part time contracted staff members, 18 freelance staff members and work with 17 volunteers. 400 – 500 young people per year benefit from our life changing services; our hope is that this will increase to 700+ per year from 2027 once the building project at our site is complete. We have ambitious longer term plans for growth.

We have been operating in North London for over 10 years from a small stables, after our lease sadly came to an end in January 2023 we moved to our long term home. This was a derelict stables owned by the Council which we have secured via a 25 year lease. In 2022-23 we raised £300,000 to get the site usable as an equine therapy centre although it is still very run down with much of it boarded up an derelict. We now have full planning permission to develop the site and build a purpose built equine therapy centre which will allow us to double the number of young people who access the space.

About the Role:

To make this dream a reality we are looking for an experienced Capital Fundraising Manager to lead the Capital fundraising campaign for this project to raise £700,000 over 2 years in order to fund this build.

The hope is to raise £350,000 in year one in order to fund half of the build (stage 1) with the remaining funding being secured in the 2nd year to complete the build in year 2. We have a strong track record of fundraising including recently securing 5 years core costs funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and we have warm relationships that we can call on once this fundraising campaign gets activated.

The Football Foundation are partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell in their search for a permanent Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. The Football Foundation are the Premier League, The FA and the Governments charity that helps communities improve their local football and sport facilities through grants.

This newly created Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will be responsible for providing key insights to support strategic decision-making, ensuring financial performance aligns with business objectives, and embedding a culture of finance business partnering across the Football Foundation (the charity) and the Premier League Stadium Fund (PLSF). Additionally, the role will oversee strategic financial planning, forecasting, and analysis activities across the organisation.

The role:

• Lead and consolidate business partnering in the organisation, ensuring close collaboration with management group, department heads, and other key stakeholders to gather insights and ensure alignment on KPI’s and objectives.
• Lead the preparation and execution of the Foundation’s long-term strategic financial plans and annual budgeting processes in an effective and timely manner.
• Responsible for monitoring and providing the relevant financial information form the various funding agreements with partners.
• Accountable for overseeing the production of the monthly ’performance packs’ and associated information – highlighting key trends, issues, and opportunities as appropriate.
• Foster collaboration across departments to streamline data gathering, analysis, and planning processes.
• Continually look for ways to simplify and standardise the management accounting and budgeting processes, automating as much as possible and avoiding the need to produce “off system” analyses.
• Provide supportive line management and guidance to the Business Partner, ensuring their ongoing development, performance, and alignment with departmental goals. This includes holding regular one-to-one meetings, offering clear guidance, open and constructive feedback, and upholding the Foundation’s Personal Development Review process.

Essential criteria:

• Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or at finalist stage.
  • Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting and analysis with confidence in managing large datasets and deriving actionable insights.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, accessible formats tailored to varied audiences.
  • Experienced in developing financial policies, guiding users with clear and practical processes to enhance financial governance.
  • Proven capability in finance business partnering, with knowledge of embedding its principles across an organisation to align financial insights with strategic goals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and resolve technical issues independently, ensuring efficient outcomes.
  • Strong proficiency in extracting and analysing complex financial data, uncovering trends and correlations to support informed decision-making.
  • Strong organisational abilities, adept at managing competing priorities within a broad remit, and responding flexibly to changing requirements to ensure seamless operations.

The position will be based at The Football Foundation’s head office at Wembley Stadium and requires 2 visits per week to the office, dependent on business need, in addition to attending two-day all team meet ups each quarter. We are looking for a Community Fundraiser who is an excellent communicator and an energetic self-starter. You are comfortable with working independently, but ready to utilise the support of colleagues across the Fund. Above all, you naturally build rapport to quickly establish relationships and develop innovative partnerships. No one day will be the same and as part of the regional team, you will be the local face and voice of the Fund on the ground. You will quickly build your understanding of the key influencers in your community, and you will ensure they understand what we do so they will want to be associated with the charity. You will be responsible for raising income through existing networks of supporters, volunteers and building new relationships within the RAF, community groups and local business.

The role is primarily community based in East Anglia and requires travel around the region (Cambridgeshire, London Kent, Essex & Suffolk)  and occasional overnight stays. Some evening and weekend work is also required during the busier months at planned events when required. The candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the regions. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need a full UK driver’s license; to be Basic DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.
