Blackburn Cathedral is looking to appoint two fundraisers to work within a small, yet creative and motivated team. One post holder will focus on applications to trusts and foundations, the other on community, events and individual giving. 2026 marks a significant moment in the life of Blackburn Cathedral as we celebrate our Centenary. We have exciting plans to remember the past, celebrate the present and to work towards ensuring a legacy that lasts for the next century too. The Cathedral has secured funds from the Cathedral Sustainability Fund for two years to kick start a major period of fundraising activity and we are seeking a proactive fundraiser to help drive a number of unique, landmark, capital projects. There will be a range of activities throughout the year that celebrate the rich history of our Cathedral for the fundraisers to be involved with, and it is an exciting time to join the team.

Person Specification • The grants fundraiser will have strong relationship skills, the ability to communicate effectively (written and orally) with decision makers, delivering the case for support to a range of individuals and groups, with evidence of successful grant applications • You will be confident speaking to individuals at all levels, presenting the Centenary Campaign in different environments and deliver engaging pitches resulting in funds being raised • You will be willing to work in a team, gather data and write compelling fundraising applications to a range of trusts and foundations • You will have an eye for detail, the ability to capture important data and comply with Data Protection Regulations and fundraising best practice

The Campden Charities is a permanently endowed trust assisting individuals on the lowest incomes in the old parish of Kensington.  The area is one of extreme contrasts and includes neighbourhoods with significant levels of deprivation and need. The Charities awards grants totalling more than £2 million each year via programmes focused on helping individuals on very low incomes to move on in their lives be it through education, training or otherwise supporting employment.

We seek applicants who have an understanding of, and empathy towards, supporting unemployed or low-income individuals and families to improve their financial circumstances. Our grant-giving programmes are constantly evolving, input from Grant Officers plays a crucial role in shaping them.

Additional information

Place of work: 27a Pembridge Villas, London W11 3EP.  Some outreach work will be expected ranging from one-off events to placements within local organisations or community centres. 

Salary: £31,000 - £33,195 dependent on experience (generous 10% employer's pension contribution rising to 15%  after five years)

Hours of work: 37½ hours, Monday to Friday.  The usual working hours for this post are 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. Some start time flexibility could potentially be offered post-induction/training.

Holiday: 28 days per annum + Bank Holidays.

Training: Training and support in post is provided on an on-going basis and training in specific areas will be offered as need and interest arise. Following successful completion of the six-month probationary period undertaking a Level 3 QCF qualification in Advice and Guidance is mandatory.  There will also be an opportunity to undertake Level 4. • Manage grant delivery, including assessment, due diligence, contracting, monitoring, and closure, across our funding rounds.

Your experience:

• Experienced in assessing, managing, monitoring and evaluating grant applications or similar roles related to charitable grant making. 
• Understanding of not-for-profit structures, including charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations. 
• Experience in writing a variety of styles including academic, reports, and impact.
• Demonstrable ability to prioritise when faced with a continuous flow of applications and variable work load.
• Experience of effectively engaging at all levels within applicant organisations leading discussions where necessary.

Prospectus is excited to be partnering with our client in the search for a new Grants Officer to join their collaborative team.

The organisation is an independent charitable foundation that aims to build partnerships and invest in communities to make lasting change so local residents can access the wealth of opportunities that surround them. This Grants Officer role is available on a permanent contract and full-time basis (35 hours a week). This is a hybrid role, where the foundation would like the postholder to attend the Isle of Dogs office two days a week in East London, with Wednesday being a core office day. The salary banding for this role is £28,000-£32,000 (dependent on level of experience).

In this role, you will report to the Head of Grants and Programmes and support the development, management, and promotion of the foundation's grants programmes. You will manage a portfolio of grants, provide guidance to applicants and grantees, assess grant applications, and conduct due diligence to inform funding recommendations.

You will monitor funded projects, ensure timely reporting and validate project delivery. You will maintain accurate records on Salesforce. You will support donor engagement, ensure reporting aligns with CSR goals, review end-of-grant reports, and contribute to annual programme reporting. You will help deliver funding workshops and community events. You will assist with developing systems, policies, and communication tools for grant making. You will stay up to date on best practices in grant making and contribute to continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of the grant making process. You could be a trust and foundations fundraiser wanting to make the transition to grants officer, or a grants administrator or officer seeking to progress further in your career. While training and support will be provided you must understand what makes a good funding application, and an ability to critically review proposals, in order to make appropriate recommendations.   
 
You will have experience or understanding of working within the voluntary sector and needs of communities in the East-End of London. You will have a strong eye for detail and experience gathering, recording information, and presenting to audiences. 

You will be a strong communicator, who can develop relationships with people from different backgrounds and lived experiences. You will be able to work on your own initiative and within a small team. You will have excellent IT literacy and administrative skills.

SSAFA’s Grants and Statutory Income Team, operating across the UK, are proud to announce this role as part of their strategic plans to develop a steady and growing source of income from statutory organisations.

About the role

This is a new fundraising opportunity to help provide support for serving personnel, veterans and their families ensuring that no-one battles alone.

Supported by the Statutory Grants Manager, this role is fundamental in developing, advancing and championing both new and existing income from local authorities, health providers, and other local commissioning bodies and grant funders. The aim of this role is to increase income generation in this area whilst enhancing SSAFA’s visibility and profile within these organisations on a local level. The Jon Egging Trust is seeking an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to develop and manage the full life cycle of new and existing and trusts and grants partnerships for JET, ensuring that this vital funding stream continues to grow and flourish in line with our current fundraising KPIs and Business Strategy which runs until 2030. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise and knowledge of prospecting for, applying for and cultivating an ambitious trusts and grants pipeline in order to maximise the potential of this vital income stream for JET.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working and a requirement to work from their London office 1 day per week.

Reporting into the Senior Grants and Bids Manager, you will develop high quality, winning proposals, bids and funding applications.  You will bring together key functions within the organisation develop funding proposals that articulate the organisation’s service models.  Taking a project management approach, you will bring together all aspects of a funding application including facilitating service modelling sessions, writing bids and ensuring due diligence is carried out.

We are looking for someone with experience leading, managing and writing winning proposals/bids.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements.

· Project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet these, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice/guidance, producing high quality funding proposals and applications.

· Writing bids/applications/proposals.

· Planning and chairing proposal development meetings with key internal stakeholders, including Senior Management Team and Frontline Managers.

· Identifying and successfully bringing in new funding opportunities that align with strategic objectives.

· To provide the highest level of donor care and manage involvement of new funders to ensure potential funding is maximised, including organising visits, events, and meetings

· Information management and record keeping, ensuring our database is maintained and used to its full potential.

· Updating Fundraising Management Team with strategic developments in funding opportunities, e.g. emerging funding areas

Person Specification:

• Experience of developing compelling proposals
• Experience of generating £100k+ income
• Knowledge of issues affecting our client group and the policy landscape
• Knowledge of our key funding streams and the funding bodies (i.e. Statutory bodies: central and local government)
• Good writing and quality assurance skills; this can be demonstrated through having a relevant qualification such as a degree and/or through relevant work/life experience
• Good project management skills, with ability to track stakeholder tasks and input
• Hardworking, self-motivated, pro-active individual with demonstrable evidence of working well under own initiative and pressure to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrable experience of communicating with a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to seek clarification from senior management and internal stakeholders to ensure we produce high quality proposals
• Ability to proactively seek solutions to issues and challenges faced while producing bids/proposals/applications
