Check NowAdvocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) is a well-established and respected national charity offering specialist and expert advocacy and peer support to families bereaved by fatal domestic abuse. We have an exciting opportunity to build upon and grow our fundraising success to date, in our newly created Fundraising and Marketing Manager role. We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional, with the drive and determination to manage all aspects of our fundraising function.
AAFDA is currently funded by statutory bodies, trusts and foundations, corporates, events and individuals. Under your management, you will identify, cultivate and grow these existing and new fundraising streams.As AAFDA’s Fundraising and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for oversight and growth of voluntary and statutory funding income, including from individuals (including regular and one-off gifts, major donors and legacy giving), community groups, trusts and foundations, corporates, the statutory sector (including Police and Crime Commissioners) and other benefactors. Starting from a strong foundation with multiple opportunities for growth, we will support you to develop an ambitious, multi-year, multi-disciplinary a fundraising strategy with an annual fundraising plan agreed with senior management, which you will then implement. With keen funder and customer awareness, you will regularly monitor and review both the plan and the strategy, in addition to working closely with our Finance Manager to manage diverse income streams and achieve income targets to fund AAFDA’s unique support and advocacy work with families bereaved by fatal domestic abuse. Holding responsibility for maintaining and developing the website and building social media programmes, you will undertake an ambassadorial approach in all activity to assist our CEO and Deputy CEO to lead and manage the AAFDA brand and corporate identity, with a focus on generating earned income, by extending awareness of what AAFDA does and how successful we are.
This is a permanent role, subject to funding, but we will work hard (alongside you!) to secure this.

Programme Finance Specialist, Temp. £200 per day (Umbrella). Remote
For an international NGO operating in over 100 countries, we are recruiting an interim Programme Finance Specialist for up to 2 months to support them during a busy period. This role will provide contract, finance, and compliance support for several contracts through end-to-end programme management, funding proposals, donor reporting and project close-out. The Programme Finance Specialist will work on key UK and FCDO donors and deliver finance training to programme managers. This is a fully remote role.
Main Duties:
- Provide support on program management and contract set up, budget cost proposal, grant management, compliance, cashflow management and monitoring of the grants and contracts
- Support Program Funding Team in proposal budget development
- Prepare country office agreements (IPIA) and advise on consortium agreements
- Ensure compliance with FCDO donor requirements
- Review contract performance of projects and carry out contract and finance activities including Donor reporting
- Prepare responses to donor audit queries as well as budgeting and reforecasting processes
- Reconcile all active projects and close-out calculations
What will you bring to this role?
- International grant management for EU and UK Donors including FCDO
- Budgeting and financial analysis of international programmes
- Strong MS Excel
- Experience from the charity and NGO sector including Donor contract and reporting
- Strong understanding of UK/European donor financial compliance and contract requirements

Women's Aid is a grassroots federation working together to provide life-saving services in England and build a future where domestic abuse is not tolerated. As a federation with over 180 organisations they provide almost 300 local lifesaving services to women and children. They also campaign to encourage the government to tackle the causes and consequences of domestic abuse.
As the Business Development Lead, you will be responsible for developing new and existing relationships to grow income generation. A new position, this role will focus on securing this income through bids, tenders, corporate sponsorships and other avenues that match the project and funding needs of the organisation. Working towards a six-figure income target and also pitching for big project work for the organisation, this role will offer variety and suit someone who is confident in securing new business and income.
To be successful as Business Development Lead, you will have proven experience in securing income and have a strong commercial acumen. You will have evidence of writing and securing large or complex tenders and grants from a range of donors. This person will also need to have strong analytical and communication skills to build networks with internal and external stakeholders, and engage them through exciting bids, pitches, and other communications.
This role is a homebased full-time position that will be an initial 12-month contract.
