What You'll Do:

DeeMaRa Foundation

Graphic Designer
Support DeeMaRa’s visual storytelling by refining book layouts, affirmation posters, and launch assets using Canva and Amazon KDP. Help resolve recent paperback rejections (including coloring books) and prepare editable templates for multilingual editions — starting with South African languages and expanding globally once translations are ready. If possible, create a short video or guide showing how the formatting issues were solved, so we can apply the same process to future books and translations.

Role Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to design engaging and impactful visual content for our social media platforms and campaigns. The ideal candidate is passionate about women’s rights and can translate complex ideas into compelling visuals that resonate with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design graphics, infographics, and illustrations for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, etc.).
- Create visually consistent templates for campaigns, reports, and awareness drives.
- Collaborate with communications and content teams to develop creative concepts for advocacy campaigns.
- Ensure all designs align with the organisation’s brand identity and messaging on women’s empowerment.
- Edit and repurpose existing content into visually appealing formats (reels, carousels, posters).
- Stay updated with social media trends, design innovations, and cultural moments relevant to gender equality.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a graphic designer, preferably in social media/digital marketing.
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative design work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or Canva.
- Knowledge of typography, colour theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- Passion for social impact, feminism, and women’s rights advocacy is highly desirable.
- Preferred
- Experience working with Social Enterprises/NGOs/nonprofits.
- Motion graphics/video editing skills (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Canva animation).
- Understanding of inclusive design and accessibility in visuals.

East London Waterworks Park is looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to help campaign in the creation of our new park with natural swimming ponds.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on coordinating our digital marketing.
There is opportunity to lead on projects across content creation, social media, film or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working circle.
The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.
While technical skills are essential, we also value your ability to think creatively and strategically. You should have experience in creating engaging visual content for various platforms that will engage stakeholders and decision makers, such as public reports, presentations for decision makers, social media and websites. A strong understanding of storytelling and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively through visuals will be invaluable. You should be comfortable with community-led processes.
