Role Title: Graphic Designer

Role Purpose

Quilombo UK is looking for a Graphic Designer to join the team. Quilombo UK is a not for profit social enterprise that challenges people to think differently and bridge gaps between communities, with the aim of building a culturally rich society, where differences are accepted and celebrated. As chosen among 160 other organizations to work in collaboration with the Home Office on the “Building a Stronger Britain together” project, you will be joining a team, which not only supports the community but also stands up to extremism in all of its forms.

Quilombo UK works in collaboration with QMC Capoeira School, giving you the chance to support QMC Capoeira which is one of the most awarded Capoeira Schools in UK (UK Coaching Awards, Gillette Sports Awards, Kingston Council Sports Awards).

By joining QuilomboUK you will be supported and guided by experienced staff and volunteers, who are willing to share their skill set and will provide you with great opportunities for development in many different areas.

Ideal candidates will use their passion to promote Quilombo UK and raise its profile, while attracting new members. They should create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media.

Main Responsibilities

• Study design briefs and determine requirements
• Schedule projects and define budget constraints
• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
• Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
• Use the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic
• Work with copywriters and creative director to produce final design

• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

Essential Skills

Key tasks

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Development:

• Study design briefs and translate project goals into compelling visuals.

Design Production:

We are looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on coordinating our digital marketing. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across content creation, social media, film or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working circle.

The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

The Abraham Bridge Initiative (TABI) is a one year deadline exclusive peace initiative under Lauder's school of Government, Diplomacy & Strategy and the Shimon Peres Fellowship for Peace. We are searching for ambitious university students who are passionate about diplomacy, innovation, and cross-regional cooperation between Israel and Abraham Accords nations (UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, etc.). This initiative provides hands-on experience in cross-regional networking, business innovation, peace-building research, communication, and cultural diplomacy, allowing students to work alongside regional leaders, regional students, diplomats, and MENA professors with the goal of building social bridges between Jewish and Arab students across the Middle East and North Africa.

- The project will be completed by December 31st 2025 and there will be an award ceremony for all those involved along with networks and connections for life.

We’re looking for a passionate and reliable Marketing Volunteer to join our small creative team. You’ll work alongside our in-house graphic designer to help shape campaigns, promote our events, and tell powerful stories about our work.

Your Role

This is not a content-creation-heavy role — you’ll be working closely with our graphic designer, so minimal / Canva design experience is okay. Your focus will be on:

• Supporting the development of marketing campaigns and content calendars
• Writing engaging captions, newsletter blurbs, and other copy
• Helping with scheduling and posting content across social platforms
• Assisting in community outreach and audience engagement strategies
• Bringing new ideas to the table that align with our mission

Ideal For Someone Who:

• Enjoys writing and has a good sense of voice and tone
• Has an interest in social media, storytelling, or marketing strategy
• Works well in a team and takes initiative
• Is passionate about equity, creativity, and community
• Can commit 2–4 hours a week (flexible scheduling)
