Overview / Purpose
The Research Events Coordinator plays a central role in the organisation's mission to build a world-leading Research Centre. This department coordinates, generates, and champions research activity across the organisation. The Research Events Coordinator contributes the Department's central mission to advance knowledge through the conception, creation, delivery, and dissemination of the highest quality research events aimed at the widest possible public and specialist audiences, undertaken through many diverse channels and through the organisation's local, national, and international research projects and partnerships.
The role holder provides efficient and effective administration and coordination of the organisation's annual programme of research events, organised by the Research Department in collaboration with research-active staff from across the institution. In coordination with other Research Department staff, in particular the Research Centre Manager, you are responsible for the overall planning, delivery, and archiving of all research events, both in-person and hybrid. This includes (but is not limited to): research seminars, exhibition colloquia, scholarly workshops, academic conferences, annual lectures, and other internal research events. You will also support the Centre's front-of-house duties and will provide administrative support for further research activity as deemed appropriate or suitable by the Head of Research.
Key Responsibility
Support the Research Centre Manager, Senior Research Lead, and Head of Research in:
Events Administration
- Attend meetings, take and circulate notes on event planning and preparation.
- Assist the Research Centre Manager, Senior Research Lead, Head of Research, and all other event-hosting staff with: coordinating Calls for Papers; liaising with speakers and collaborators; providing administration for all aspects of events planning.
- Book travel and accommodation for external speakers (and VIP attendees); attend any related invoices and ensure prompt payment of the same.
- Book venues and prepare rooms for conferences, seminars, and all other Research Centre events, e.g. arrange furniture, set up refreshments.
- Arrange, as necessary, all IT and AV support for events, including speaker and participant digital access for online events, facilitating practice sessions, and any livestreams and recording of events.
- Work at evening events (outside office hours) at the organisation or events hosted at external locations, as required (agreed in advance).
- Provide technical support at digital events, including setting up hybrid planning meetings between internal and external colleagues.
- Coordinate with AV/Digital event recordings for archive and/or release to participants and the general public.
- Maintain the contacts/networks database as it relates to event attendees, speakers etc.
Communications and Advertising:
- Produce event copy, as required, for the website, e-newsletter for research networks, etc.
- Liaise with the Digital Team over online event pages on the website and over the booking system; monitor event bookings.
- Ensure that the web information about the Research Centre remains current; liaise with the Digital Team about web content.
- Maintain and develop the email list of subscribers to events mailings and to the newsletter.
- Co-ordinate the regular research email newsletter; liaise with content providers for the newsletter; produce event copy, as required, for e-newsletters for research networks, etc.
- Work with Digital and Creative Teams to create event templates for invitations that match the brand, the research theme and audience of the given event.
- Work to promote upcoming research events using internal and external advertising platforms, as appropriate.
Research Centre Administration:
- Provide front-of-house support to the Research Centre, as necessary.
- Attend and take and circulate notes, as required, at relevant committees/working groups for research.
- Work with Senior Research Lead and Research Centre Manager to carry out administration related to research projects, including assisting with budgets, processing invoices, securing image rights, publishing web content, liaising with external collaborators and visiting fellows, booking travel and accommodation and providing administration for all research project activities.
Key Required Skills
- Substantial experience of event management to coordinate projects and events, ideally within a large, multipart organisation.
- Ability to develop and manage detailed project timelines and workflows.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail (e.g. creating travel itineraries; making bookings; taking minutes of meetings; maintaining calendars and room booking systems).
- Proven track record in numeracy and financial data-handling experience; experience maintaining and managing information on a relational database.

Main purpose of the job
A fantastic opportunity has emerged to join Bond’s communications team, as its new Media Adviser.
This position will add capacity to Bond’s media function to help build Bond’s media presence, support the delivery of Bond’s strategy and support the sector in championing humanitarian assistance and development that works to help those who need it the most. This post has two main purposes. Firstly, to coordinate and engage with communications and media specialists across the sector to address shared issues and achieve shared objectives together. Secondly, to maximise opportunities to achieve regular media coverage to help deliver Bond’s strategic objectives and services in appropriate sector press, in support of Bond’s strategy, positioning and reputation.
This role will work collaboratively across the organisation and the NGO sector and will help deliver a planned, strategic, consistent, and integrated approach to our media work.
Main responsibilities
Press office (30%)
- Act as prime contact for enquiries from press or other media representatives
- Identify matters on which collective action/comment from Bond and/or the wider sector may or may not be required
- Ensure consistent messaging around Bond’s media work and campaigns or sector initiatives in which Bond is engaged
- Write and sell-in collective letters, statements, opinion pieces, features, and responses to print, online and broadcast media
- Updating Bond’s press lists while developing and maintaining good relationships with key journalists in relevant media
- Record and report media coverage of Bond and parliamentary stakeholders, using Bond’s media monitoring platform to track coverage
- Use Bond’s media monitoring platform to track government announcements and parliamentary stakeholder activity

- Work closely with the corporate team to implement media and PR outputs for corporate partnerships and events.

News gathering and editorial (20%)
- Update the news section of Bond’s website to capture current stories and issue affecting the humanitarian and development sector.
- Source thought leadership blogs for distribution through various Bond channels and external media, including news stories, blogs, features and social media items
- Source opportunities to share Bond’s media coverage via Bond’s different channels including social media and in relevant Bond working groups
- Manage the editorial calendar recording key global dates and events and making the wider team aware of editorial and media opportunities around these dates.
- Provide editorial support to the team as and when necessary, including writing relevant blogs for the sector.
Other:

About this key role
Your role will be to provide young person centred holistic support – including everything from helping clients to understand their own behaviour and its consequences, and promoting change, to helping clients’ families to support them and providing practical help with attending appointments, education, training and employment options, housing, benefits, debt and other aspects of day-to-day living. You’ll be part of a client focused SOS Team delivering casework services, predominantly Monday-Friday during office hours, and within Islington (although other hours and deployments may be required). You’ll also work closely with a range of partner agencies to ensure clients access the appropriate services and get the best outcomes.
Working flexibly within the community, with responsibility for one or more volunteers, you’ll be building effective and engaging relationships with young people involved in or at risk of being involved in the criminal justice system, with the aim of improving their life chances. You’ll conduct robust risk assessments and strengths-based needs assessments, with safeguarding as the priority, and ensure that all young people work towards an agreed support plan which is regularly reviewed and adapted. You’ll also build effective relationships with agencies providing services to the client group, and enable clients to engage in positive activity within the community (e.g. boxing, football, etc).
What we are looking for:
- Significant experience of working with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults and delivering interventions that have had a positive impact – preferably in a health and wellbeing context and/or on an offender led support project.
- Experience of providing support, advice and advocacy, with the ability to assess clients’ needs.
- Extensive experience of managing complex safeguarding issues with children, young people and adults who are at risk of violence or exploitation, whilst working alone.
- Understanding of the physical, social, emotional and developmental needs of children and young people, their specific needs as they transition to legal adulthood, and the issues they face, e.g. exploitation, victimisation, offending, school exclusion, unemployment, trauma.
- Extensive knowledge of the impact of context – with a clear understanding of best practice around contextual safeguarding and those experiencing harm outside the home.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice in the context of working with children, young people and parents/carers impacted by violence and exploitation, and of how trauma –including from their own lives – can impact on how practitioners manage cases.
- Working knowledge of child protection and safeguarding legislation/policy, with experience of providing support, advice and advocacy to staff with a safeguarding responsibility.
- Understanding of the importance of good quality case recording quality assurance principles.
- Ability to use electronic case management systems to record all aspects of the role, including action plans, outcomes and session data on a day-to-day basis.
- Recognition of the importance of resilience in coping with the emotional demands of the role and demonstrable experience of managing your own wellbeing.
- Relevant qualification to a good standard or equivalent experience – ideally with relevant accredited training such as safeguarding, counselling or mental health first aid.

Key Objectives for this Role
Oversee the day-to-day running of our Battersea Bites Programme that includes a lunch club for people 50+ that runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and a healthy eating session on Mondays. This includes leading in the planning, shopping and preparation and provision of meals, the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen including overseeing a team of volunteers and ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
Planning
• Plan and develop a monthly lunch service menu, a month in advance, using creative license to provide nutritious, varied, and satisfying meals that meet diverse dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, cultural needs, vegetarian/vegan options) while strictly adhering to Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations.
• Develop ideas for Battersea Bites Healthy cook and eat/ other sessions with the Age Well Team.
• Handle purchases and expense tracking using the Soldo card, ensuring full compliance with the bank card usage policy, and submitting all receipts and records promptly and accurately for financial oversight and reporting, for which training can be provided.
• Create several themed menus throughout the year which will engage members. For example, a Summer Lunch, an Afternoon Tea, etc.
• Support the planning of the older people’s lunch club with older people themselves
• Support the Elders team to welcome and support new members to feel part of the programme.
Delivery
• Complete a weekly food shop either online (we currently use Asda delivery service) or locally, buying fresh ingredients weekly which fall within the financial budget.
• Prepare, cook and serve healthy meals, ensuring dietary needs are met
• Undertake stock control such as stock rotation, ensuring all food items are labelled with expiry dates and disposed of when necessary.
• Ensure all equipment is ready and set up for the lunch club service.
• Ensure the security of the kitchen and store cupboards to provide a safe working environment. (Our cupboards are locked.)
• To ensure routine day-to-day as well as specialised cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors and storage areas.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including the health and safety folder containing opening and closing checks. Training can be provided.
• Ensure your hygiene and cleanliness are of the highest standard, and those of anyone entering the kitchen, including volunteers, are suitably dressed and uphold the same standards
• Be part of and work closely with the Elders Team at KLS
• Support elders who attend the club so that the sessions are safe and enjoyable for them.
• Inform the Manager (or in their absence the Head of Service) of any concerning incidents, compliments, complaints or accidents (including safeguarding issues).
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by quickly and calmly addressing kitchen challenges and ensuring smooth meal preparation under pressure.
• Take part in the monitoring and evaluation of the programme under the guidance of the Managers of the 50+ programme
• Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure efficient meal service.
• To attend any relevant training sessions to ensure that you are fully equipped to perform your role effectively

Coordination of Battersea Bites Volunteers
• Form and build positive working relationships with volunteers who work within Battersea Bites.

Right now, we are looking for a Community Engagement Practitioner to play a pivotal role in our Haringey Volunteer Community Service in Haringey.
Sounds great, what will I be doing?
This role involves working within a multidisciplinary NHS team to support adults with moderate to severe mental illness by holding a caseload of service users and serving as their key contact throughout care planning, progress monitoring, and discharge, using the RiO system. The post-holder collaborates with individuals to develop person-centred recovery plans focused on social goals and community integration, building therapeutic relationships through trauma-informed, strength-based approaches. They support access to local resources, appointments, wellbeing activities, and peer or psychoeducational groups, while promoting recovery-focused, jargon-free communication and advocating for co-production and integrated care. Liaising with statutory and voluntary organisations ensures smooth service navigation and warm handovers, while active participation in clinical meetings and community events helps represent both Hestia and the Community Mental Health Team. The role also requires accurate documentation of all support activity, adherence to safeguarding and health and safety procedures, and engagement in supervision, training, and continuous professional development.

Here's what the team will be looking for
The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 4 in Care or possess at least two years' experience working in a mental health setting, with a strong understanding of mental health issues, recovery principles, and co-production. They will have a solid grasp of care planning, risk assessment, recovery tools, and relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act. The role requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills, alongside the ability to facilitate groups effectively. Candidates must be confident using IT systems, including electronic case management tools, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed practice is essential, as is resilience, adaptability, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries. Desirable attributes include lived experience of mental illness or secondary care services, peer support training, familiarity with local resources, and skills in training, mentoring, report writing, presentations, or multilingual communication.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a talented storyteller and strategic communicator to join our busy, dynamic, and focused team of professional activists as a Copywriting Coordinator. With a natural flair for persuasive writing and a background in direct response marketing, you will craft powerful narratives that expose the reality of animal farming, inspire action, and mobilise financial support for our life-saving mission.
You will be responsible for creating compelling content across print and digital platforms – from fundraising appeals and newsletters to blogs, campaign pages, and supporter journeys. Combining creativity with analytical rigour, you will ensure every piece of copy both engages hearts and delivers measurable results. You will proudly champion Animal Equality’s tone of voice, supporting fellow team members to apply our messaging to their copy.
This is a pivotal role in growing Animal Equality UK’s reach, deepening supporter relationships, and driving the income we need to achieve lasting change for farmed animals.
The Copywriting Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and work closely with team members across our UK and international teams.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Be a brand champion: Develop engaging, accurate, and impactful copy that embodies Animal Equality’s tone and mission, sharing the experiences of farmed animals with donors and potential supporters.
- Deliver multi-channel content: Produce persuasive copy for appeals, newsletters, websites, campaign pages, blogs, magazines, impact reports, and petitions, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
- Support fundraising growth: Write powerful long-form and short-form content that motivates supporters to give and meaningfully engage with our work, enabling Animal Equality to expand our impact for animals.
- Content planning: Work with Campaigns, Marketing, and Communications teams to align content with upcoming exposés and campaign actions, ensuring maximum reach and supporter engagement.
- Collaborate with the team: Synthesise complex briefs into digestible, engaging, and emotive content while collaborating with team members to ensure Animal Equality’s content reaches its full potential through amplification, SEO, and multi-channel repurposing.
- Engage supporters: Lead focus groups and supporter calls to understand motivations and feedback, tailoring communications to strengthen loyalty and impact. Ensure communications are tailored to supporters’ needs, motivations, and advocacy journeys.
- Stay topical and creative: Monitor trends and news stories relevant to animal protection, responding quickly with fresh content that connects to our campaigns.
- Data-driven optimisation: Track, test, and analyse the performance of Animal Equality’s copy (open rates, click-throughs, donations, etc.), producing regular reports and using insights to refine future content.
- Represent Animal Equality’s culture: Support Animal Equality’s life-saving work by producing high-quality output, embracing and representing the organisation’s culture principles proudly at all times, and supporting our philanthropic efforts.

ABOUT YOU
You are a forward-thinking communicator with exceptional writing skills and a passion for advocating for animals with impact. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing resilience and creativity with strategic and data-led decision-making. You are self-motivated, organised, and able to multitask, working on several briefs simultaneously.
You actively seek constructive feedback and use it to continuously improve your work. You show ownership and a growth mindset that is focused on improving the world for farmed animals. Knowledge of farmed animal issues and alignment with Animal Equality’s mission is a must, as is professionalism, adaptability, and discretion.
You must have a minimum of three years’ experience in copywriting or a directly related field, with a proven ability to design and deliver content for successful fundraising. Experience of Pardot, Grav and/or WordPress is a plus.
You will be based remotely in the UK. In addition to monthly meet-ups, some travel within the UK may be required for demonstrations, meetings, and events. While not common, occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support campaigning activities. Any additional hours worked and agreed with your Manager can be reclaimed as TOIL.
