As we are a small team, we need to be flexible and support each other, which adds variety to the role. One day you might be creating content for our social media channels, and the next you might be welcoming a Minister to the office.

We are looking for a team-player with excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills. You’ll need to have good attention to detail and be proficient in social media and video production.

You’ll also need to be willing and able to help upskill our volunteers to be able to produce social media content. Being a national organisation across two countries, this role may require some travel to get out and about and support our members.

Engagement Officer

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Locality Impact directorate and focus on Engagement in their area.

The Role

Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officer will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against engagement activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

In September 2024, National Numeracy launched a new ‘Schools & Families’ programme to support Primary School staff, parents and carers in increasing pupils’ confidence with numbers, positive feelings about maths, and awareness of the value of maths outside of the classroom. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Adults Peer Support Worker to join our busy Peer Support team. You will have your own lived experience of mental health issues and be able to use this experience as well as your professional skills and knowledge to support others.

RB Mind has run effective peer-led services for many years. The role will be supported by RB Mind Senior Peer Support Workers, and the Peer Support Coordinator in South West London St George’s Mental Health Trust (SWLStG). Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training and clinical supervision.

With the expansion of our work in this area we aim to reduce waiting times, reduce the number of people going into crisis, address inequalities and support transitions from youth to adult services. We offer holistic and personalised care and support to service users.

The role has its own caseload and provides a range of support and person-centred interventions to meet these needs, which could include group support, one-to-one interventions and signposting where specialist advice is needed.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about motivating and coaching individuals with mental health issues, and able to support people on their journey to recovery. The Training Programme Coordinator supports the delivery of Asylum Aid’s two strategic partnerships that aim to help address the continuing fall in availability of immigration advice across England and Wales. The Compass Project and the Migrant Justice Greater London (MJGL) Partnership are designed to increase learning, collaboration and peer support opportunities between advice agencies and ultimately improve the provision of immigration advice to people seeking asylum, refugees, and other vulnerable people in the immigration system. This role provides key administrative support and coordination to ensure the effective delivery of both the Compass and MJGL training projects, working closely with Asylum Aid’s Immigration Supervisors and Director of Legal Casework, as well as external consultants, including the Learning Partner, managers and advisers at partner organisations.

Compass is Asylum Aid’s Advisor Development Programme of training, supervision and peer support for immigration advisers working in advice deserts across England and Wales. It is funded by the Justice Together Initiative. More information about the project can be found on our website here.

The Migrant Justice Greater London (MJGL) project is a partnership between Asylum Aid, Refugee Action and Praxis, designed to deliver legal training and supervision to frontline organisations across London. It is funded by the Greater London Authority.

Key responsibilities

Legal Administrator (approximately 4 days a week)

· To manage incoming and outgoing legal post in line with Asylum Aid’s procedures

· To post, email or arrange the dispatch of legal correspondence to clients, the Home Office, court or tribunal, counsel etc

· To receive and make telephone calls relating to casework activity, as well as covering the receptionist function in answering general incoming calls

· To manage the legal enquiries email inbox, triaging emails as appropriate

· To manage the team calendar and oversee key dates system

· To schedule and book appointments for clients, including the booking of interpreters or other experts where necessary

· To ensure all Legal Aid Agency monitoring information and other related information on cases such as disbursements and payment of invoices is recorded timely and accurately

· To assist with the preparation of electronic documents for the Home Office, court or tribunal

· To organise and maintain Asylum Aid’s legal archive, case filing system, legal library, and other documents

· To attend legal team meetings

· To assist Asylum Aid’s Billing Coordinator/caseworkers with preparation of files for billing where necessary

· To assist with general office administration, including administering petty cash

· To supervise the work of the Legal Administration Volunteer(s)

· To assist the Director in the administration of the Refugee Legal Group (RLG), which is a Google based group hosted by Asylum Aid

Training Programme Coordinator (approximately 1 day a week)

· To provide general administrative support for the Compass and MJGL programmes

· To monitor project timelines, plans, and budgets

· To organise in-person and remote training events, draft meeting agendas, take accurate minutes, coordinate travel for project participants, make and record project payments and provide logistical support for in-person events

· To assist in the promotion of the projects, including assisting with drafting external communications and social media, outreach to identify potential partner organisations, and supporting the recruitment of project participants

· To act as a central point of contact for multiple training projects, liaising with key stakeholders, including participant organisations, funders, the learning partner, and the clinical supervision provider

· To support the Learning Partner in monitoring and learning from the two projects, including facilitating learning opportunities with the partners and other organisations.

Selection Process

About the Role

This is an exciting new role which will help the Methodist Church in Britain to embed in the life of churches its commitment to be justice-seeking. 

In 2024, the Church adopted a Strategy to embed the Methodist Conference’s Justice-Seeking Church Report in local churches, across the Connexional Team and throughout the life of Methodism. 

The Justice-Seeking Church Officer will shape and develop this work across all levels of the Church in creative and innovative ways, identifying opportunities and responding to challenges.  They will strengthen leadership for justice across churches, and enable collaboration across programmes and issues. They will enable theological reflection and will lead on shaping the vital emerging work around participation of people with lived experience of poverty.

You will be a member of the Justice Team but work collaboratively with many others. You will also be part of the wider Mission Team, playing a key role in the implementing its strategy in response to Our Calling and the Methodist Way of Life.

The Operations Administrator will work closely with the broader Operations team to provide centralised communication and administrative support, and effective coordination across all aspects of the work of the Operations team.

As this role is central to the work of the Operations team, the person will need to be proactive, organised, and able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines. As well as being the key link between the Operations team and the Research and Communication teams, they will need to be able to work well with the wider organisation and provide excellent customer service to a variety of stakeholders globally. A key focus of the role will be to ensure data accuracy across a variety of platforms, drafting and coordinating centralised communications with Operators, and support reporting on the activities of the Operations team. The successful candidate will not only have strong administrative skills and experience but will also have strong experience within communications and/or research.

Key responsibilities:

Communications:

• Coordinate central communications for all Operators including production of newsletters, sharing Award Community updates and annual reminders.
• In conjunction with the relevant Senior Manager, plan and deliver the annual communications calendar for each Operator.
• Being the key link between the Operations and Communications teams.

Centralised administration:

• Alongside colleagues, provide administrative services to the Operations team responsible for the management of all Operators.
• Maintain and report on the Annual Operations Calendar.
• Coordinate Operations team meetings.

Data/reporting:

• Ensure data accuracy across various platforms, including but not limited to Salesforce, our website, and the Award Community (our online learning platform).

Licensing & quality:

• Fulfil the role of lead reviewer on licence reviews for all Operators.

• Support coordination of annual policy review.
• Support coordination of the Operator Annual Reporting process.
• Manage the coordination of the external activity provider processes and ensure the published list is accurate and up to date.

Operations/programme/growth:

• Support Operations Managers to process Award authorisations for IACs.
• Support the administration of Operator events including centralised coordination activities such as setting up virtual meetings, producing event calendars etc.
• Research new prospect Operating Partners.
• Support with the coordination of the three funds grants.
